The US will have their champion, France, Germany will try, China, Russia, Japan.. all their own champions... and Britain with Scancell (probably). So they aren’t competing with 300 in effect, just competing to become the most prominent offering here.

I suspect the point that SCLP is a British company matters. Do we not want a British champion to be developing a home grown answer? It will give us leverage, a degree of independence, demonstrate our capabilities globally. Anyone know how many British companies are working on a comparably advanced next gen vaccine?

Back on planet earth, dilution is far from irrelevant now. There was/is the potential for the shares to rerate toward Nasdaq peers prior to further readout, but that angle gets materially compromised if a large dilution takes place near term. Over the longer term - in the event trials are successful - I can agree any dilution now becomes less important. BUT that is dependent on data that we don’t have any certainty on yet. Anyway other wig - you’ve got some attention and I’m sure a lot of ticks will be winging their way to you. Whatever floats her boat.. ATB

Research - thank you for conceding that people here do get it, in contradiction to your first post, and for making clear it is a balancing act, which your initial posts do not make clear. No glass half full or empty about it. I was in the glass half full camp on Friday believing that only $25m would be required, suggesting an 8% dilution. In fact, I posted on advfn stating exactly that on Friday morning. The only thing that has led me to question this is a group of posters arriving aggressively suggesting that the level of dilution is irrelevant. Why would they do that when it’s evidently nonsense? Anyway, onwards and upwards I hope. ATB :)

Mudstud - i think you’re addressing your contention to the wrong poster. You are stating they will only raise $25m. I hope they will only raise $25m. The other wig/research are arguing that it doesn’t matter how much they raise - the scale of dilution doesn’t matter - because it will all go to making the cake bigger. To state the obvious - OF COURSE the level of dilution matters and it should be a key part of DP’s role to make sure he gets maximum buck for what is given away. ATB

Research - you opened your point by stating posters here “just don’t get it”. Actually, I think most posters here do “get it”. You are not in possession of some high level concept that the average punter here cannot understand. Yes - raising money can fund a bigger cake making the slices larger. The point you neglect is that you pay for the ingredients by giving the existing cake away. As has been subsequently stated by other posters - the hope here was that the cake would get bigger prior to dilution - it would rerate on Nasdaq listing - thus you get the same cash but give away a proportionately smaller amount. It’s a balancing act, and that’s not something that’s clear from your post. Hope you get it now. ATB

Hi rossannan - with a high degree of confidence I can tell you wigwhatever and (probably) researchandsomething are both stig... as you suggest he is an uber ramper who will have difficulty justifying his uber near term targets now the share count is about to shoot up. That’s why he’s here - to try and change the narrative for the new reality. For all his self professed ability, I can’t recall a near term 40% dilution being part of his picture. ATB.

My take on the new arrivals... a group of private investors have been taken by surprise by news that up to 40% of the shares will be issued, or around 75m, happening soon. They’ve got all upset and pleaded with DP, but are resigned to the point it’s coming. And now they’re here to tell you it’s really good news so pleaaaaase don’t sell, cucks! Impact: it you thought this was heading for a 1bn usd valuation on Nasdaq move, that takes you to around 275p, rather than previous 400p+. Thats still nice, just not as nice, Getting to multiples of that 275p is most likely dependent on results - if good, happy days. The naive hope (including that of the shouty arrivals) was that dilution would come later at a higher price. Oh well. Think we can still agree 275p is a nice number from here. ATB :)

Not sure I quite understand the enthusiasm for wigstaffs comment. As a holder, I entirely agree the shares look massively undervalued. So why on earth would I want to give away 30-50% of the value at a dud price? It would make sense if we needed that scale of funds to get to key inflection points, but we don’t. We get those this year. Nor do we need it to tie up relationships with big pharma - merck and others are already onside. So - stating the obvious - I entirely understand the need for more funds, but giving the company away abundantly at a dud price for little reason don’t make sense to me. That’s exactly what the “cucks” do :)

It makes total sense for the U.K. government to get covidity trialled as quickly as possible. 1) in the grand scheme of things it will cost them b*gger all 2) we have no clear idea which way this virus will go next, so arming yourself now with as many scientifically proven options as possible - vaccines, treatments, tests - makes complete sense. Hopefully there are good reasons why CH looked a lot happier. ATB :)

The most bullish thing I’ve seen in recent days is that CH looked calmer and more confident in the vox interview than I have seen him for a long time. In fact the only time I have seen him look happier was when he first arrived as a fresh faced CEO, uncorrupted by the multiple frustrations of managing SCLP.
