Investor1111, when it comes a t/o or buy out, to a certain extent the share price is almost irrelevant. If the share price is low , and does not reflect the value or assets of the company, it is is the easiest thing in world for the BoD to “show a suitor the books”.
If Dan genuinely intends to sell for £1b, and the assets of the company add up to that, it is completely within his hands, regardless of the MC at any given time.
Generally, t/o’s are done on the cheap, either because the BoD are lazy and happy to accept it, or the company is “distressed” in some way and the suitor has it over a barrel. I don’t think either scenario will apply in the case of NFX.
