SD is there to run the company, I expect him to use the company's assets to best effect for the long term value of all shareholders. He isn't there to massage the fickle egos of shareholders.

If you like the company, understand its assets and prospects, then hold on for the long term.
If you don't like it - sell up and move your cash to something that doesn't give you such stress.
If you just want to trade in and out, we are at a low - so buy in and wait for your 10% to cash out.

Just a heads up, with the low vaccination rate in Aus, there cold be some delays coming up if the Delta variant gets a good hold!

Interesting though the debate on depth is, it is a tad premature at this stage. It's going to take quite a few years before NCM will start to look at the sub 2000m level, plenty enough ti dig out before then. Add in the other targets within the HAV tenement and they may have more easily accessible ore to play with as well. There may even be something in the Juri JV / SWAG areas to keep us all busy.

NCM and other miners are looking at future technology, so by the time we do need to access really deep deposits (20 years time maybe?) there could be the robotic technology in place to do this in a cost effective manner. Of course economic and market conditions over this timescale will play a large part which could delay or accelerate efforts on this .

One this is for sure, my holding is very sticky for the long term. A nice pension income as well as an interesting project to follow keeping the little grey cells active.

@TMT, you may be mixing up personal taxation with company taxation. Pacific Trends is a company - an increase in or acquisition of assets wouldn't normally be a tax event for a company (well not here in the UK).

The income and resultant profits from eventual GGP dividends, now that's a different matter (so they increase their costs by employing family members?).

Well, this would be an unexpected windfall for them.

If they were able to predict that HAV would be as big as it is, that NCM would drill the bejesus out of it, will start a decline before the PFS etc. etc. etc. then, they would not have sold.

So this is the unexpected windfall for the owners of Pacific Trends. IMO, they will hold on to these strongly. The ultimate dividend income will allow them and their families a very comfortable living for the next 30 - 40 years without lifting a finger. All on top of whatever they are doing in the meantime.

So, they would be daft to sell any - likewise mine are cemented to the bedrock of my SIPP.
