I didn't advocate Warfarin at all. I posed the question " Maybe a prescription blood and clot busting drug would have been a better candidate?". Warfarin was simply an example as is "Warfarin for example".

Why?

Because it is a well known drug and It has been around for a long time. you don't need to trial it for every different use?

So, did they trial it for emergency use by paramaedics for heart attack victims? Can you imagine running such a trial - trying to sign up a patient, collapsed on the floor, asking him to participate in a trial, asking for a release form to be signed? No, they know it has blood thinning and clot clearing properties, so they simply use it.

Why was a trial needed for Covid?

I have used it, I took one the day before each of my AZ jabs, and for a few days after as well. I don't know or need to know if it had a beneficial effect. I know it did me no harm. I know I'm still alive and didn't get blood clots. So.... all good. I didn't need to see a trial to help decide if it was a sensible / good / bad thing to do.

As respects Aspirin alone, we (or the wider science community) need to question why this drug was trialled at all.

It is cheap, it is a well known quantity, it's effects are well known (paramedics give it to heart attack victims straight away, was there ever a trial for this?). It can be used, under prescription or by recommendation, easily as it is sold over the counter. There should be no need to formally trial this at all. Simply use it where appropriate and not when contra indicated.

Keep the trial playing field clear for more promising treatments.

When this is all over {sic}, there should be some sort of scientific review of what happened in the drug trial arena. The drug companies should look at how and why all drug candidates were selected for trial and how they were promoted towards regulators.

There may be lessons to learn, particularly how to avoid jumping down the HCQ rabbit hole (many other similar disasters, too).

Agreed, this myopic charge for a 'cheap' re-purposed drug is using up most of the trial resource (especially patients, with their hopes/expectations).

Aspirin shows little benefit. They are finding it more and more difficult to re-purpose existing, cheap, drugs with any meaningful benefit.

Just ignore them, this board does get invaded by the nutters from time to time! The rest of us are all quite normal.

GGP is managing the Juri JV, so the smart money is on GGP to deliver drill results first.

Again, the options are only there if the performance targets are met. They can't possibly be a backstop for dumping shares now (as you imply due to expected bad news) if they will not exist when the performance targets aren't met.

Read the RNS - performance targets need to be met first. If not met, no excise of options - no sell. Simples!

My vote of thanks to our team at Synairgen. Those that have options granted, well deserved. They still have to meet performance targets, but what a great incentive for them to continue working on our behalf and to bring a most important drug to market as soon as.....

Don't forget the massive effort over the last 15 months or so, our team has made great strides. What would normally be some 5 - 6 years of research and trials have been actually performed in just over one year. WE are nw on the cusp of makin a real difference worldwide.

Yup, all on the radar, but there will likely be some funding requirements and consequent dilutions on the horizon. I avoided SXX, but those that did take the hit will confirm that a decent business plan is not enough on it's own - funding and access to development cash is key. Mess that up and you are lost.

I need to see how they progress for a while yet!

Don't forget, the big Pharmas are unlikely to commit cash to a buy out / licensing deal unless and until there is a marketable product and an income stream to evaluate.

So - nothing will happen until either an EUA (meaningful one US/EU/UK) and or the P3 results.
