Because it is a well known drug and It has been around for a long time. you don't need to trial it for every different use?
So, did they trial it for emergency use by paramaedics for heart attack victims? Can you imagine running such a trial - trying to sign up a patient, collapsed on the floor, asking him to participate in a trial, asking for a release form to be signed? No, they know it has blood thinning and clot clearing properties, so they simply use it.
Why was a trial needed for Covid?
I have used it, I took one the day before each of my AZ jabs, and for a few days after as well. I don't know or need to know if it had a beneficial effect. I know it did me no harm. I know I'm still alive and didn't get blood clots. So.... all good. I didn't need to see a trial to help decide if it was a sensible / good / bad thing to do.
