The FDA are the gatekeepers to make sure allowed drugs are safe and provide a real need. Of course they are going to ask for the data to be rechecked when they are shown such good numbers.

They have no choice, they need to be sure all is above board. They would be failing in their duty if they didn't.

I don't think current oncology practise will recognise a cure as such.

You can have complete remission where all signs of cancer have gone, but this allows for the possibility of a return. It's not like a virus or disease that can be eradicated from the body (i.e.a cure).

It will take many years of data and consistent long term complete remissions before anything can be recognised as 'a cure'.

So, short answer is 'No'.

In 10 - 15 years time that might become a 'maybe'
