Great article, thank you for posting. I particularly liked: "is working closely with its manufacturing partners on “scale-up activity”.". The partners are there as we suspected. Things must be really happening behind the scenes.
And:
"finnCap holds a target price of 360p, though analysts said quantifying the coronavirus opportunity was “nigh on impossible” as the valuation “could go substantially higher”."
Add to that this article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/stories-54106272
It shows the effect of so called "long covid". The long term lung and organ damage that arises from an infection. People are having to use several inhalers to reduce symptoms instead of actually treating the problem. This alone shows an enormous market for SNG001 regardless of a vaccine. In fact there is a high possibility that a vaccine would produce the same over-activation response of the immune system and cause the same symptoms. Only one medication can cure it at the moment and it is SNG001. 'The one inhaler to rule them all' to borrow a frase from LOTR. The fatigue seen in 'long covid' patients is typical of an over-activated inflammatory response in the body as seen in autoimmune diseases.
This is all more proof that we are backing the right horse so to say.
Well that was a rather bleak press conference. No vaccine widely available until next year and cases surging with hospitalizations and deaths closely following. This means that they only have one highly effective treatment and that is SNG001. After that presentation I am convinced that emergency approval will happen shortly. They don't have a choice at this point. Things are worse than anyone thought. And will be beyond dreadful very soon. I'm more confident than ever now that SNG001 is on the way.
Great post, Tornadotony. Thank you for it.
The big problem with IV interferon beta-1a has been the adverse effects and a large part in why it didn't live up to it's hype in the 70s and 80s. I agree that is what makes inhaled SNG001 so groundbreaking. It doesn't seem to have anywhere near the same adverse effects and targets the exact same pathway as the virus. I think people are starting to realise just how amazing that is. In all my research into interferons, beta-1a seems to be the most efficient at targeting this virus and for use in several other autoimmune diseases. Add to that the lack of adverse effects seen with SNG001 compared to IV interferon beta-1a together with the unique patented delivery system and you have something truly incredible.
If you look at the combined sales of Rebif and Avonex, two leading IV interferon beta-1a medications, in 2013 with a total of 5.51 billion dollars in revenue you can start to imagine the market value for an inhaled version with far fewer adverse side effects.
The more I look into this the more sure I am about the efficiency and safety of SNG001 in combating this virus, future viruses, and a host of other illnesses.
I'm very pro vaccines. I think we are all glad we don't have an ongoing polio pandemic. However, I am also a bit of a realist. The average vaccine development time is 10.7 years, with 3-5 years of safety data, and they plan to fully develop the Covid-19 vaccine in months. Thus making it the fastest developed vaccine in the history of humanity and without the years of safety data - I hear alarm bells begin to ring. Especially with research pointing towards vaccines against COVID-19 could very well cause the same over-activation of your immune system as getting the disease.
This brings another point why SNG001 is so important. Because if the vaccines do end up causing the same issues as the disease then SNG001 becomes even more necessary to combat the potential resulting damage.
(Timeline of vaccine development: https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/06/vaccine-development-barriers-coronavirus/)
I believe our board member Monticello put it very well with:
"I know there's still a lot of uncertainty, but it's starting to feel like SNG001 may be the right drug, in the right place, at the right time."
That's a very good point, DaveW58. Transverse myelitis is directly linked to an over-activation of the immune system and is why it is seen in so many autoimmune diseases where the body literally attacks itself causing organ and tissue damage - such as lupus. It also happens to be the exact same over-activation response seen with Covid-19 patients. And why IV interferon beta is used slow the spine degradation in MS. I think in light of the new research, which warns of an over-activated immune response occurring from a potental vaccine, the link is certainly there. And possibly why there are still concerns regarding the AZ trial in the US.
Glad you all enjoyed it. After all the great posts by several members in here, including our resident master detective pmjh, I was more than happy to return the favour and take the time to do it.
I think this information - together with all the recent information that this board has produced - points towards an imminent emergency approval. Regardless of a persons political beliefs it's clear that the UK government, and the rest of the world, need something desperately to calm people, especially after yesterday's antivaxx/lockdown protests in London, and to combat this virus in the upcoming weeks and months as we now enter flu season with record numbers of new Covid-19 infections and no vaccine or highly effective treatment available.
They, rather luckily, have the answer sitting right in their laps with SG001. And all the new studies seem to back it up which certainly makes the case for an emergency approval even stronger.
Another thing is that the study shows that even people with a low viral load and an asymptomatic infection could still suffer long term lung and organ damage from the underlying chronic over-activation of their immune system, and suppression of interferon beta, without knowing until months later when it is too late and that in itself is rather terrifying - and something I was worried would eventually be discovered - which again further shows the need for this drug.
I think the point can be made that production is already well underway as RM made the point of saying 'commercial partners', (as in current partners) and might very well be the next news we receive.
In any case after seeing all the great information this board has produced I am very happy with my investment here and think we are in for a very exciting time ahead with a way to finally effectively combat this virus, and also get a great return on our investments.
Two birds with one SG001 stone.
Have a great day everyone
Part 2 of 2.
In the first study they also look at people with existing antibodies towards Covid-19 and state that:
"antibodies against COVID-19 might represent a double-edged sword; beneficial by neutralizing the virus and detrimental by contributing to over-activation of the complement system"
In other words according to their research - antibodies, from either a previous infection or a vaccine, over stimulate the complement system and can cause further damage in your lungs and body by causing a chronic over-activation of your immune system which completely negates the potective assumptions regarding antibodies and vaccines. Showing why people are getting infected again with some a lot worse the second time.
And why people are getting lung and organ damage months after infection.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02598-6
In conclusion they say:
"The anaphylatoxins C3a and C5a and the terminal complement complex C5b-9 are the most potent inducers of inflammation, and inhibition of these should thus be prioritized. Thus, therapeutic inhibition on the level of the common pathway including C3 or C5 inhibition seems most promising in light of the results from this study."
Inhaled interferon beta, SG001, would do just that by completely counteracting their suppression of the body's natural antiviral and anti-inflammatory interferon beta and shows why if SG001 is administered at an early stage of the disease causes such a remarkable reduction (79%) of Covid-19 virus' effect by greatly reducing the length of the disease in your system and in so the length of the damaging over-activation of your immune system.
In other words: SG001 = Win
Part 1 of 2.
I was studying some clinical studies this weekend and have found some very interesting things which independently verify SG001 as a main treatment of COVID-19. Most likely even over vaccines.
This peer reviewed study I found was published a few days ago, on the 17th, regarding the cause of respiratory failure in Covid-19 patients. In it they lay out which pathways cause an inflammatory reponse in the body leading to respiratory failure, ARDS, organ damage, and death.
It shows that a long and systemic activation of the 'complement system' - a key component of the immune system is the cause of serious respiratory and negative effects of Covid-19. The complement system, that consists of proteins that are produced by many cells and organs in our body that continually circulate in our blood and tissue, are our 'first defence' against virus and bacteria. But a chronic over-activation of this system, as seen in lupus, causes damage by attacking all your body's cells in an attempt to 'heal' you.
An over-activation of our own immune system caused by the virus is in other words what damages our organs and the cause of mortality.
https://www.pnas.org/content/early/2020/09/15/2010540117#xref-fn-3-1
The pro inflammatory complement anaphylatoxins C5a and C3a are the main culprits by producing an over-activated inflammatory response caused by Covid-19.
Now what is interesting is that those two anaphylatoxins suppress the body's natural production of none other than interferon beta.
Without the anti inflammatory and antiviral protection of interferon beta - which stops the virus from replicating - your body is unable to defend against the virus effects and your chronically over-activated immune system causes considerable damage to lungs and organs. This is why older people, who naturally already have a large reduction of interferon beta, are at greater risk of mortality and respiratory failure. And why bats who have a high level of interferon beta are unaffected by coronavirus.
(Here you see the suppression of interferon beta by C5a and C3a: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5398560/ and the anti-inflammatory protection that interferon beta gives: https://www.ft.com/content/743ce7a0-60eb-482d-b1f4-d4de11182fa9 )
So if you get Covid-19 you immediately need more interferon beta to fight the suppression of interferon beta and to halt tissue damage. Inhaled SG001, which directly targets the lungs, is the most efficient interferon beta treatment with fewest side effects by far in any treatment I have studied.
End of part 1.
Add to that news today that only 6% of the UK population have antibodies towards Covid-19 and it wears off after 2-3 months means we got a terrible few months ahead with no vaccine.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUKKBN269253
It's so bad now that emergency approval must be literally knocking on the door.
"We’re seeing clear signs this virus is now spreading widely across all age groups and I am particularly worried by the increase in rates of admission to hospital and intensive care among older people," said Yvonne Doyle, Medical Director at Public Health England.
"This could be a warning of far worse things to come."
https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN2690SX
The time has definitely come for SG001. I think things are moving quicky now. The government don't have a choice. SG001 is STILL the most effective Covid-19 treatment. Sure gonna be an interesting week starting Monday.
Anyone see this? Critical lung damage seen months after getting Covid-19. This is another massive point why SG001 is need.
"Doctors are now concerned that the pandemic will lead to a significant surge of people battling lasting illnesses and disabilities. Because the disease is so new, no one knows yet what the long-term impacts will be. Some of the damage is likely to be a side effect of intensive treatments such as intubation, whereas other lingering problems could be caused by the virus itself. But preliminary studies and existing research into other coronaviruses suggest that the virus can injure multiple organs and cause"
"even mild cases can have life-changing effects — notably a lingering malaise similar to chronic fatigue syndrome."

Hurtle. I have several family members living in Sweden. I can assure you that is not the case. Things have gotten a lot stricter there and I know several people living there who are not even allowed to go to work. And looking at reports from other European countries it doesn't seem to be the case there either. In fact lockdown and infections are worse than ever.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/kashmir.today/who-warns-europe-covid-19-spread-is-now-worse-near-the-start-of-the-pandemic/amp/
Let's just agree that no matter what the setting whether it be Covid-19 or the flu etc. That this drug is sorely needed. Have a good day :)
Migsmcl86. Sadly there is no evidence of herd immunity in the UK and the chances of getting there are by all means impossible according to the studies. The first point is Spain for example where they have been hit hardest of nearly any other country yet only 5% of the population have developed antibodies. Far from the 60-80% needed.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.healthing.ca/diseases-and-conditions/coronavirus/spains-covid-antibody-study-shows-herd-immunity-unachievable/amp
Secondly studies show that even those who develop antibodies lose them after a short time. It's why every leading medical expert around the world have gone strongly out against the herd immunity theory when it comes to Covid-19.

Lastly the idea that the higher numbers comes from more testing is not entirely accurate as testing has fallen behind quite a bit and the worst affected areas aren't even getting tests done at the moment which leaves a potential larger number than those being reported.

In any case I agree completely with you that SG001 has so many legs to stand on. It's a literal wonder drug and can be used in so many settings.
Europe's number of new new infections is now HIGHER than the peak numbers of the first wave. Things are really getting bad and we haven't even entered flu season yet.
As Dr Hans Kruge - special WHO envoy of COVID-19 - puts it:
"We have a very serious situation unfolding before us.
"Weekly cases have now exceeded those reported when the pandemic first peaked in Europe in March."
"Last week, the region’s weekly tally exceeded 300,000 patients."
"More than half of European countries have reported a greater than 10 per cent increase in cases in the past two weeks."
"Of those, seven countries have seen newly reported cases increase more than two-fold in the same period."
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/coronavirus-who-europe-new-cases-infections-pandemic-b466398.html%3famp
Europe is literally screaming for SG001 now.
Good find! With all these videos from reputable doctors coming out it seems there is something big at works. They all seem to be getting the same information, and they all are positive towards it, which shows that there has been positive in depth discussion about it. And with the American ii's investing it's clear they they have heard about it as well. Lots of good stuff going on here.
Dr Fauci on herd immunity:
"Would result in enormous death toll"

All this is pointing to that SG001 is desperately needed and why I think things will be revealed any time now.
