For anyone in my situation there are a couple of unexpected upsides from a low shareprice come April. I won't now have more funds to buy, but a low sp means:
- Bed & isa more into the ISA, currently 9m shares outside ISA will take the rest of my life to move in but a decent start can be made in April (I have 3 ISAs to fill)
- Presumably can take a CGT loss come April 6th which can be offset from any gains later in the tax year. That means for example the trade shares can sell and not incur CGT or I can sell a few smaller holdings in other shares and not incur CGT.

Where there is a downside there is an upside so to speak. Of course for those looking for fresh funds to ISA/SIPP a low SP come April 6th is a blessing.

who the hell can buy Andrex? We just came back from Tesco no Andrex in sight. Ridiculous situation, as with our shareprice here.

EUA is going to be my best performing share in my portfolio in March as well - it certainly was in Feb! GLA

I think last time the balance sheet was published we had around £30m in cash. I think our market cap is around £33m at present which values each mine at £1.5m. I might look down the back of a sofa and see if I can raise enough funds to buy one, but for sure Orion will be licking their lips at the prospect.

Of course, we will have spent some cash (and probably a decent wedge) since then but it is still a joke valuation - market panic etc.etc.

of course, there is no reason to mine at WK if they are negotiating full sale and confident of a deal, but in the scenario where they don't RNS anything till the big one, we won't know either way. Thanks again.

Thanks guys really appreciated, my view is it would be unlikely they would RNS anything relating to business as usual while the suspension stands and you are of the same opinion on this one. So it stands to reason that they might well get mining at WK and we might not hear about it until 'the big one' RNS.

I'm panic stockpiling in case we run out - others are buying pasta, I've opted for Horizonte shares.

I'm wondering where at this sensitive time they are involved in negotiations and the share is suspended, would they RNS anything that isn't material to the suspension itself - like a start of mining at WK or similar? Not been in this position before so genuine question, are they allowed to make announcement on the business as usual side of the business while the sensitive negotiations continue and we aren't admitted to trading?

My guess, but not from any knowledge, is they are unlikely to RNS anything until the material RNS relating to the suspension, but I don't know.

if the company is valued on palladium price averaged over 5 years then of course the value is going up daily, not down, even with the recent drop in palladium price. In 2016 the average palladium price was around $600 an ounce so once that value drops out of the equation the sale price just increased. Buyers know this of course. All IMHO.

Slight O/T but I wonder if the govt will risk anything drastic with the budget on Wednesday which affects markets/investing (like any changes to CGT rules etc). There is a chance they planned to and there might be some very last minute scrambling right now to tweak it. If they want to kill the pension funds right now they can probably bring out a budget mid stock market crash that does just that - and it won't be a popular move.

Gold up, PERE produces gold, PERE down. The irony is not lost on me here! I don't have funds at present but would add if I did.

I think Luke posted an article below (but I haven't got time to go through all the links) but the oil price shock could really play well for investors here going forward. So much money invested in oil, if it continues to be weak, and for long term/structural reasons will be looking for a new home. EV/Electrification/Nickel - the way forward. Companies like Orion will benefit for sure and, indirectly, hopefully Horizonte too.

It is overdone IMHO. The oil stuff Saudi/Russia, tomorrow they might kiss and make up, it's how OPEC and oil has always worked. If anything everyone will get pretty cheesed off with the Oil cartel and look for the next generation of power - and that helps us along nicely. The virus is the virus it will pass.

Maybe a bit more 'down' to come in Q2 who knows, but the Trump will be on all cylinders come Q3 to get things moving and will be throwing the kitchen sink at it to get things to where he needs them to be for election. China will be doing its level best to get its economy moving again. All IMHO.

How does this affect Horizonte? 6 month delay, absolute max, imo.

Don't see it going for less than £100m if it sells if they can't get the finance. I would make around £750k profit and I would be gutted as this is worth so much more. Probably many would take that profit but there is so much more to make here, the board know it, Orion know it, Glencore know it, Teck now it etc.

Not worried about current shareprice in the slightest, for me the main downside risk is we get bought 'below par'. Par for me is the 25-30p range. £100m still gets me a return which would 'keep me ticking over' but I'm here for the 25-30p+.

JD would love to but mrs wasarunner decided to buy a caravan for £60k this weekend. I tried to explain that said investment could be better deployed to further bring our average down on account of the excellent bargain this excellent share is at current prices but my alternative plan was met with a frosty reception. Nothing to do here now but remain patient, alas :)

fulmar - by new start up do you mean a new mine build? I think the projects take 10 years from proving resource to permitting through to build so if they are looking for mid-decade they will need a proven resource close to being permitted. Oh hang on a minute, I think we have one of those :)

I can't find stats on what the current C1 costs are for nickel production in Indonesia. Or indeed if there is a list of 'upcoming' Nickel projects in similar timeframes to Horizonte which have published DFS/PFS stage I think we compare very favourably but if anybody has any good resources, please post links.

Looking at uprcoming projects is interesting as a comparator for finance, but of course many projects will already be run by the big boys so few smaller independents which a Sumitomo/Teck/Glencore could gobble up.
