First signs of improvement in the SP someone wields the effing axe, time after time after time.
'bout time someone started investigating this daily abuse of the system rather than carrying out a high profile hatchet job by civil servants which is crippling this company slowly but surely. Then when they've finished with PFC they move onto another victim pausing only to check up on the value of their taxpayer funded 100% guaranteed pensions.

After the latest outbreak of "Trumpeting" and the resulting savage fall on WS yesterday wonder what today will bring.

Probably because the SP drifts upwards every time there is a platform for an announcement to be made, and when said announcement turns out to be yet another damp squib it drifts down again.
How anyone can now consider this share to be a "buying opportunity" whilst the company is carrying dead wood in the form of 3 NE Directors ( what exactly ARE they doing?) and a couple of techies who live on another planet I do not know.
Like "The Mousetrap" (now in its 67th year) this one will "run and run" as they say in the luvvies trade.

In the last 14 months, if my calculations are correct, only 4 new contracts appear under RNS, totalling around $3.5 billion.

Yep-and gradually being whittled away again-usual scenario.

Hence the 8% drop in the SP at the close.
Getting farcical-the years drift by and all we get is mountains of techno babble
but no money.

I know this is a volatile share but the gradual downward drift is disconcerting. It is notable as well that all the movement dates from 1 week to 5 years are all in the red.
Until SFO get of their royal backsides and some more contracts are obtained I can't see any immediate improvement. This is not trying to de-ramp merely trying to be pragmatic.

The quicker the better. Beginning Feb we were at 559 then the Company issued a damned silly RNS which told us what everyone knew already, but knocked the price for 6 from which it has never really recovered.
Even news of contracts does nothing so as a I said the quicker the better, but don't hold your breath. They will be dotting every i and crossing every t to ensure they get no more egg on their faces after the huge fiascos of the last few years.

Good for you-bet there are many others who wish they had done the same.This share has been the subject of massive manipulation-the timing of the Iraqi announcement 6 days before ex-div day was no coincidence. Two days before the announcement of the SFO investigation in 2017 two institutions increased their short positions by large amounts-leak from the SFO???? Perish the thought. FCA investigation-pardon?
Petrofac themselves have not helped the situation-2 RNS's they have issued have knocked the SP for 6 big time: the shorters have had a field day but to cap it all the bureaucrats at the SFO, (beavering away mightily 9 'till 5 Mon-Thurs and 4.30 on a Friday), are stringing it out for all it's worth and the damage to the company seems to be compounding daily. Censure by the House of Bores Committee last month will have no effect whatsoever.
Overall Odonnell it looks a though you may well be getting back in!!

I didn't realise we are "prestigious". If so why is the SP such a pile of poo, ESPECIALLY as we have Dr. Parker as our NE Chairman who, seemingly, controls the rising and falling of the sun.

This time last year the SP barely lost ground on ex-div day. Everything crossed for tomorrow!

The problem is that whichever way you cut it the big boys are playing this share like there's no tomorrow.Whenever the SP threatens to show any signs of revival out of the woodwork comes yet another bombshell and, I suspect, it will continue.

As somebody pointed out last week it is over 2 months since the announcement of the bribery conviction yet the Iraqi's have waited until just 6 days before the ex-div date to start making hugely hypocritical, self righteous comments which they knew would depress the SP big time.Coincidence?? Yeah-right
Also the competition for the contract in question has now been reduced thanks to Petrofac being excluded. Some might say, and I am not one of them, that possibly a competitor has more friends at court than Petrofac?

Yes, but don't forget that the 6th Feb. announcement about the indictment of a former employee knocked the SP from 559 to 381 in the space of a week. We finished Friday at 527 so it has recovered quite well despite the doom and gloom in the Annual Report. We are still waiting for the civil servants (SFO) to stop scratching themselves and come up with their verdict and new business wins this year are sporadic to say the least. So, in the circumstances I think we are wombling along quite nicely-not spectacular, but steady, progress.
