As for hurting British Companies the SFO don't give a toss. They are Civil Servants with the attendant lack of feeling for anything but their own jobs and their taxpayer funded pensions and will string out this pathetic witch h sorry, investigation,for as long as they can. If Petrofac goes down they will shrug their shoulders and move on to the next victim.

Maybe they are doing some work but some indication of how they are going about it might help, or is that too much to ask?

jaffjoon. The only way things have changed throughout history is by sheer weight of numbers kicking up a fuss.
Petrofac is no exception and I would welcome news that other SI's and, hopefully, institutions are doing likewise. I am quite happy to share the contents of my letters to the SFO with anybody who is interested.
Just sitting back and doing nothing achieves just that and comparing Petrofac with "other higher profile cases" is not helpful. Petrofac may not be a priority for the SFO-we can only make it a priority by the weight of numbers referred to above.

I'm sure Osofsky is now aware of the SFO's chequered, blunder spattered history and was given a mandate by UK Government to clean up its reputation.
Most readers of this board will be aware of said reputation. For those who aren't just Google "SFO Blunders".
Makes for some interesting reading and is indicative of the mind boggling incompetence of the Civil Servants who attend at its offices every day. You will note I said "attend" rather than work.

'fraid not Lilo apart from referring me to SFO's website and also a feeble attempt to put the onus on Petrofac to keep us updated. How they are supposed to do that when they themselves are in the dark is anybody's guess.

SP down 72% in 5 years and 41% in the last year, but the top man received £2.4 million last year and charges went up 44%

I received a response from the SFO yesterday-as expected the usual load of unhelpful crap. They are Civil Servants after all so I suppose I was silly to expect anything else but one has to try.
Incidentally the letter went astray as they omitted the name of my house, it was a single sheet of paper but in an A4 envelope, and cost the taxpayer about 40% more in postage than it should have done.
I shudder to think what they will come up with re Petrofac if this is the standard of work they produce.

Begs the question why did TM et al get into bed with a cash poor company when it was blatantly obvious more cash would be needed in future if the research etc was to be achieved.

It's just a pure guessing game which is a bit pointless.
I wrote to Osofsky on 7th May posing questions on progress, increased transparency and timing ,the latter being one of the major planks of the critical report on the SFO issued by the House of Bores back in March, etc.
When I wrote to the previous incumbent 2 years ago one of his minions had the courtesy to respond but not the new kid on the block. It seems she has the same contempt for small investors as our market friends because to date not even an acknowledgement.
