I had missed that a decision has been taken about the kids.
Still hard to believe that that alone accounts for 15% rise over two days
Unless it is taken as an example of how quickly and serious JD will be moving.
Let's hope that's it and that we see other good news soon.
Maybe along with the May 4th Trading Update.

I follow BOOHOO as well. It is rising slightly on great results but has 46 comments.
Here we have risen more - say 10% over 2 days - but no obvious catalyst and the board is so quiet!
Whatever, I am with you. I would have thought £5.50 was a minimum short term.

Nice rise to £5 - still no public news as to why.
Maybe I should go down to Cheltenham today and put my ear to the ground.

It is starting a bit like Brexit.
Great results = similar to great Brexit promises = and yet the market / government not delivering.
Except in Brexit it was predictable whereas here it is gobsmacking.
Let's hope it quickly turns out a lot better than Brexit.
But however it unfolds this is definitely not the beginning any of us were expecting. Or at least hoping for.

Hello, anyone out there? Whatever does a 7% spurt today mean?
Wherever did that come from?
I have long claimed this easily deserves to be back over 5.50 where it was in December.
Maybe this is merely a few others agreeing.

Damn, a sudden collapse to £2.20 from a nice slow rise to £2.27.
I suppose someone who got in at £1.50 in December might want to play safe and get out.
Even if they got in at £1.75, they could take a nice profit and run.
But it is odds on that this is going to go up 10% soon - I mean tomorrow - to £2.50 at least
= probably on the way to £3 = so surely not the time to get skittish.

Suddenly up nearly 4% to around £4.70 - the highest since the collapse on Dec 11.
Does it mean anything?
Will it be wiped out before I finish writing this sentence? Maybe. Certainly dropping quickly.
Whatever, better up than down.

Is this positive rise for real?
Is it upwards and onwards from now until results day?
Or is someone toying with us, raising our hopes to hurt us more later?
Seems a bit early for so much momentum but then again it is only 8 days out.

I am a LTH but I am not sure that qualifies me to claim to know anything.
I am forever optimistic which means I am too often caught out believing things are going to go well only to have them turn sour, not least of all on SDRY.
Once again I am feeling positive. You talk of a 15% drop and I tell myself, No, no, not going to happen. We are already seriously underpriced. Yes, JD had problems to overcome but surely this should be heading up 15% not down.
Just have to hope JD frequents Crazy 8 a little less for the next few months. :-)

Alas, MP my experiences are much like yours. Disappointed by the lack of sales staff initiative in the stores and a current loss even bigger than yours.
Hoping for a miracle.
My suggestion for it: JD has to pull a rabbit out of the online catalogue - up the sales there.

Fascinating watching every minute today as BOO has been tracking Asos post its terrible results
every second of the way as if the same people were buying and selling.
Alas, BOO never went the full 10% only 2% or 3% but it does suggest an odd correlation.
Whatever it might means for BOO results god knows.

ASOS down ONLY 87% so SP UP over 6%. Go figure.

Another Evening Standard news report of particular interest to you Jimini.
Apparently JD took analysts to the HQ store and, among other things, showed them the stacks of 50% discounted items then took them to shops along Regent St to show them that no one else was doing that.
They could have just asked you weeks ago. :-)

So the ERG is past and we have a new captain.
Logically, he has to underline that it will take a considerable time to turn the ship around.
But surely it is equally certain that he needs to make some encouraging noises soon.
Here's praying for some ingenious plans this week.

Yes, things are uncertain but spring is in the air and there will be spring in SD come what may.
Can you imagine how we would be gritting our teeth this very day if JD had lost and we had smug ES in charge.
Hopeless.
Now we can look forward to great things. No guarantee but at least a chance.
And I agree that the lady in question might well want to pick up the reins and would have to be a better choice than some Sportsman who has no pedigree, only ES's approval.

It was Investec's "asset management arm" that helped JD get over 50%
so I am among those confused by Investec's brokers downgrading the shares
from BUY 600 to Hold 500. Damn markets!

Glad to be on the same page now.
And while I agree there is a mountain to climb I am for now simply enjoying the elation that must be felt among the rank and file. Can you imagine? Joy of some kind. Perhaps some of those poor marketing folk will have their jobs saved.
And it is amazing the impact of having a top guy running the show. I would be careful if you are going near Cheltenham any time soon - that place is going to be on fire.
