So the meeting is now one day away. All will be revealed quickly I guess, although I don't know what time actual results will be known? Presumably by the afternoon.
And if JD loses we stuffed with a duff management and the prospect of JD selling a few shares.
If he wins - and he has 40% of shares committed already - there should be fireworks, which should help the sp.
But this being the market, nothing is certain of course.

Brilliant on several counts.
One it shows that at least some City powers - perhaps many - are waking up.
Two, it will encourage others to think seriously about where to put their support.
Three, these two entities alone hold 10%, which leaves me wondering how much more does JD need? Do his own shares count? If so, we would surely be close to winning.

Well nothing drove the SP up for long so not much need to look for reasons why it went up at all even for a few minutes.
But fundamentally the SP is ridiculously low at the moment so anything - like a bit of cold weather - could drive it up.
Or JD making some encouraging noises.
And this brings us to the crux. Suddenly the EGM is upon us, Tuesday is showdown day.
There is a sense that the SP could do two of three things. Unlikely to stay still but either go rapidly up or down.
I still have to think it can't go down much - if JD fails it is because the Money is showing confidence in the board.
If he succeeds, you have to think that the company is in for some major beneficial rejuvenation. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, I was just thinking of yet another reason ES and some of the board would not be happy sitting alongside JD.
He's a guy who has taken a multi-million pound hit on his massive holding while they have all been padding their pockets.
Can't be comfortable for the thieves to be elbow to elbow with one of the major victims.
That said, it is easy to see who would be most motivated: ES who is over paid vs JD who has been flinched.

Isn't there some new-fangled thing going around called "online shopping".
I am sure I read something about it recently - online, no less. Had the word "NEXT" in the article it.
Maybe it was the same article that said that "Now's the time to be closing stores not opening them."
- I think the writer simply forgot to add:
"Especially if you are a brand like SDRY that has too many failing shops already."

Hey J, good to have you back on board and thanks for this link.
The City AM writing is poor as usual but the gist is clear - any sane City worker has to believe a change is due and ES is not about to provide one. He has absorbed a fortune while watching the company whither.
Of course the City has to mutter about supporting the Board this week but when it comes time to vote, they should be quick to realise what management offers them the best chance of recouping their 70% losses inflicted by the current bunch.

All very sensible Bandit. I am sure many of us are having the same thoughts about bailing out before the Meeting, even if it means a major loss as in my case.
But for now I hold back for two reasons:
One if JD loses then it means the big investors have some sort of confidence in the board, maybe tiny, but perhaps enough to ensure that the sp does not collapse immediately after the meeting.
Two, if JD does win, would the whole Board actually walk? Or is that like May's threat "My deal or no Deal."
I don't know who is on the board, but presumably some of them are friends of JD's?

Sounds to me like ISS has merely picked their opinions word for word from Euan own plead to shareholders.
And it doesn't help that a rag like City AM just prints the ISS statement - no counterarguments - even when that statement raises its own red flag:
"“The company’s performance has been dragged down by .... issues that would appear particular to Superdry (e.g. online sales and innovation)."
Why no commentary from the reporter on that??? I will write and ask her.

I agree that the City might be as reluctant to precipitate a board change as the Conservatives are to change leader.
Fear is a terrible motivator.
But unlike the Conservatives mess, SaveSDRY has a viable candidate in waiting.
Hard to see why the City should be afraid to throw caution to the wind and prefer instead to back a board who is widely perceived to be crippling the brand.
But as with Brexit it is impossible to say what is coming.

The sky news report raised that same question: is it a veiled threat that he will sell. You would have to think so.
Although he will not want to rush to pocket his losses.
On the other hand, if he fails, the price is all too likely to fall so he and everyone else might be best to bail

For those who are not yet aware, JD has set up a site called https://www.savesuperdry.com which surprisingly has the goal to : SaveSuperdry.
JD sent out his arguments to the company today and has elicited astounding support from investors and employees in return. Heaertening stuff for me and I am sure for JD himself.
Definitely worth a read.

Yes, apparently we are not alone in thinking the Euan may be over-compensated for his activities.

Maybe this is obvious and everyone knew - maybe I even knew it but forgot - but JD want Peter Williams, chair of BOOHOO, to be appointed to the board.
That interests me - as a BOO shareholder - because BOO does all its business online, not exactly SDRY's forte.
