BOO breaks records and sinks. Then this news today. Go figure.
Associated British Foods, up 5.6%. The Primark clothing chain owner reported a strong performance during the key Christmas trading period.

Nice report, Street, very refreshing to read something that actually makes sense of our chaotic situation. Can't say I see enough of it on this board. Nor in the news about Brexit for that matter. Grim times. :-(

My feeling exactly.

So we are up a bit today but still less than 2%. That is nothing in the scheme of things. I would expect at least another 2% before the end of the day. Anyone who wants in under £2.00 had better get in now.

Just a quick word of commiseration to all holders.
We remain committed and sure it will go up - and it will - but goodness don't the markets like to tease us.
Couldn't have done just a little better at the end of last week? Or at least this morning?
What are they all waiting for?
Never easy in the markets for sure.

Although BOO is well up for the week it is only about where it was a month ago and I suspect many of us are a little disappointed that we did not see some rise at the end of last week.
But this clearly mirror what happened back in September with the Interim. It has actually been going down in the lead in to the results and still showed little or no inclination to rise even the day or two before, so many there is no reason to worry.
On the other hand, it will be surprising, even worrying, if we don't see a positive move on Monday. Fingers crossed.
And on the third hand, it occurs to me that not everyone in UK is obsessed or following BOO as we are and many may not be aware that good results are coming.
They may not even pick up on it until a day or two later, assuming they don't get totally distracted by the Tuesday Brexit vote. So the main rise might no come until Wednesday or Thursday. Have to hang tough.

Such votes are usually held in the evening after a day's activities, say 7 pm with the result about 9 pm, so if BOO releases as per schedule at 7 am on the Tuesday morning there should be no conflict.
Don't think they can legally suddenly go ahead an release early anyway.

I note on the BOO board that you have limited your investment in BOO due to commitments to some other stock where you are expecting "good news soon".
It wouldn't be here, perchance, would it?
Because that is the position I am in.
I would buy some more BOO if I had any cash left but all of it - and more - is invested here,
where I am definitely praying for "some good news soon." :-)

Thanks for the astute analysis, Streets. I think you are on the mark.
One of the hardest things for PIs is to imagine your depresses share going up. When it is lingering around £1.50 you think even £1.70 may be a mountain too far. But I am prepared for this one to go high and fast.
I will go out on a limb and say it will hit £2.00 easy. And after that could keep going to £2.40.
If you want an example, have a look at Greggs which I despaired of at £10.00. Yet in no time at all it is back up to $14.00.

I live in Central London and the shops were definitely buzzing yesterday despite the mild temperatures.

So we end the week circa £4.00 back where we were on Wednesday morning after it crashed from circa £6.00.
That's better than the £3.60 we hit Wednesday afternoon but hardly comforting. Still a huge amount of work to go to get back to any kind of respectable SP.
Remember £6.00 was the result of the fall from £10.00 on October 1.
I think SDRY is by far the worst performer in its class, despite results that were not as bad as some of it competitors. Presumably this is the result of shorters.
One way or the other it is easy to see this soaring even before JD or anyone else intervenes. I know I have to feel this way because I can't bear the losses I hold otherwise.
But it is not totally wishful thinking. I have been through this will other shares coming back quickly - IAG, Domino, and Cine - and most recently BOO, which was also shorted to hell but came back from £1.40 to £2.20.
Indeed, I am selling other things at minor losses to buy more SDRY, expecting 30% rise any time soon.
So fingers crossed. I am sure I am not the only one having to skimp on Christmas shopping if this doesn't climb next week. Grrrr.

How low can we go?
This is still an attractive company posting huge profits. Yes, they are down which suggests something is going dreadfully wrong but they are still selling masses of stuff and apparently have cash in the bank and other positive things.
So will we reach a bottom soon and kick back quickly at least to something like yesterday's price?
Or should I sell all now at a massive loss?
Considered selling yesterday but was still hoping for a rabbit from the hat.
Now there does not even seem to be a hat.

Oh, there it is down 20%. Good thing I don't live high up.

5 minutes into trading and still no price available. What's up?

Well, we didn't see this coming, did we? At least I didn't. Bad enough yesterday's 8% fall. Now another 5%. And another Guardian article underlining how much Dunkerton disagrees with the current strategy but apparently unable to influence it. In other words, the current management is free to continue to sink the ship. OMG!!! Where is the bottom. Bottom of the sea I fear.

Hey Mr Jambon and Co, good to see you back on the board and happy to say thanks to you and the other hand dozen posters who have been posting intelligent things over the past months, mainly arguing that BOO is a great company and that sooner or later it would come good.
Well, obviously you were right and helped me hang on through many bad time - I am one of those who bought at £2.50 plus!!!!
And I have B&S 50 times since trying to cover my borrowed money that took me over £100K.
Well, finally the sweat pays off: up 30% in 2 weeks. The stuff of dreams.
Although like many I sold come too early, starting at £2.05, again mainly to cover my borrowings.
Done now. Holding on with the remaining £50K. Can it hold up and reach £2.50? Why not? It seemed a reasonable price even a year ago and the company is far better placed with the new CEO now.
