Ohh right T, saw that from BBC news, thought I had missed other news.

What does your crystal ball think about the opening price.. Price was falling, charts say buy .... down into 1380's or immediate rise??

Made 53p a share today, still a lot down on last weeks number of shares I sold at 1234 .. but a few more trades like today and I'll get back there!

I think you are using HL to trade?
I found it a pain to keep swapping screens - away from account summary ( hope you are using live prices ) to chart page then charts and performance. I have saved the Stochastic and W%R charts on 1 day view as default.
From there you can click DEAL button.

I now try and have a deal window open with updating prices AND the charts for the share I am looking at, as well as my summary page.
I found you can have several logged in HL pages open instead of back and forward on one. Nice!!

Use a spreadsheet to see how many shares you can buy with your cash/previous sale proceeds ( don't forget fees and stamp duty as applicable ) and use the limit buy with those numbers. For live buys you can simply put in your desired spend amount AND click include charges so you don't over spend! Or of course just put in how many shares you want / can afford.

I am probably teaching every one how to suck eggs ( need a hole in the bottom AND top of the raw egg ... prefer them boiled! ) but this is what I have picked up in the couple of months I have been here / trying this daily share dealing malarky. With guidance from Professor Treacle and support from the Red Braces Brigade!

What would happen if I had 2 limit sales - one at say 1470 and stop loss at say 1460 .. once one activated I would have no shares to sell so would other one just fail or would I be "shorting" or need to buy shares to cover?

Missed all the top of the spikes as couldn't get a sale thru. So not sold!
I set a limit sell which was ignored for at least 5 minutes, and price went past it so cancelled ... and still couldn't sell!
So a higher limit sell in place ... as the price rises for the afternoon and possibly fall back at close / tomorrow open.

Still can't thru for a sale in the 14.70's ... put a sell limit on in case that works better!

You DO have a good eye for the share movement / trends ... I still buy / sell early!

As S mentioned, I seem to have had more luck / success with limit buys and sells, often when I am still in bed! or not at the PC / watching the price / chars....

Spike over! hit 14.60, couldn't sell, 14.44 time I got thru so cancelled!
