Did CCL do well on open - thought I saw 1274 on my watchlist but refreshed / on the chart it was only 1187.

OOohohhhhh ... no live prices ... and HL charts only update after 15 mins.

Markets open 9 - 5 would be nice though!

I get up now to make money; I was even thinking last night, can't wait for the open to see what trades I can do!

R - If I can do that, there's a bag of chips in it for you! ( said in a Yorkshire voice! ). Yeah, a couple of good days a week and it'll be great!

T -Retire ... already "retired" well early retired / redundanted when the company closed 5 out of 8 chemical plants on the Site I worked for. But with many years on ICI final salary pension, and last 8 years on quite good company contributions money purchase scheme, and good redundancy payout ( into pension pot so no tax! ) , and pension freedoms ... and do a cash equivalent transfer of the final salary pot to other pension provider, I'm ok for the next 20 odd years ... even though the pension took a 9% reduction mid lockdown!

Yes, I had had enough of 7am wake up, leave 7:30 for a 30 - 90 min commute over the Runcorn bridge ( when they were making the new bridge it took near 2 hours to do 15 miles! ). So I treated myself to a lie in.
If I can save the pension by trading and make some spare too, it's worth getting up! And it's kinda fun, especially as I am now used to seeing red in the portfolio and rising prices after I sell ... I am on my A game and kicking bottom.

T - We were due to go to sunny Florida in August this year - booked last year as soon as we came back / and plane when bookings open in Nov.
Looks like not going now. Other half too worried about the American stance of dealing with this virus, waiting in busy airport for 3 hours, 10+ hours with 300 people in a thin metal tube...

Eateries in USA just starting to do social distanced openings. Or you can collect / have delivery.

Disney only part opening - all dining plan and shows cancelled until 2021, limited number of people in park - lots less than usual, masks needed, tests at gate, no self service / buffet places open ..... and hotels limited in feature and space.

So we are awaiting a formal letter/e-mail from Disney ( 2 park tickets, 1 week in the hotel with dining etc. ) offering options - rebook 2021 ( their anniversary so will be busy, no offers, may still not be open ), extend park tickets to end 2021, re-book for a discount ( states 35% but people only being offered 15% ?? ) or full refund.

So I will get my £100 deposit back! Hire car moved to 2021, villa moved to 2022 ( already had booked 2021 villa! ), Universal park tickets moved to 2021, flight company will keep deposit carried over to book when available for 2021.

So overall well dealt with and cost me nothing in lost deposits of fees, just no USA this year!

More time to play with the stock market!!

S - Well, I do pinch ideas of shares to look at from here - there are far too many out there to try and look at ... so while not copying ( hey if it works ... ! ) I'll have a nosey, see if it moves, how it moves, and maybe have a play!
Not lost on any yet even if some are small - £98 on Dart, something over £100 on Marstons, but OPK for a couple of hours work!

Looked at JDW and a couple of othes, prices are well up on 2-3 weeks ago, may go for them for long term hold, but if they rise a lot I'll be tempted to sell!

R - nice one on CCL, I have had some "high" priced CCL for ages so glad to get rid of them at bit of profit after averaging them from 1229 , so I blinked early!

T - no, ISA empty as yet, awaiting transfer and me to put in cash - probably from here to avoid yet more new money going in!

So fund and share account did it's job today, and I'll just have to work out the CGT tax year to date.... jointly of course ;-).

WHile it was quiet today I had a bit of a spending spree looking forward to the "holding / recovery" shares.

So bought TUI, Marstons, and some of the slow movers I don't refer - Novacyt, Dart, Plus.
Also bought GGP back as i sold in error ( long term limit sell! ).
And some OCDO.

Sold Marstons for 5.8% profit.

Just sold last CCL at 1204, after a fight with HL to get a quote!

Quite a good day overall! Exciting first thing and since 15:00 ish!

Sorry, 1181, 1180 mor 1191!!!

Sold 2k of CCL at 1179 ... took 3 tries to get a quoteat 1191, 1180, and they came back 2p lower .... finally got thru at 1179.

So I'll do most trading from the S&S ISA's in future as pot builds!

T - no, not disappointed, I knew I'd have to pay a bit of tax if I made money trading, just hoped I could retain the shares and move them. Not a problem, I'll be doing that anyway to fund the ISA's each year !

T - Thanks, I was expecting I'd have to sell the shares / profit to fund the ISA, hope I could just move the shares over without any tax implications!

T - as per your reply below from the other day, do HL allow transfer of shares between fund & share account and S&S ISA??
R thought they used to for a fee but may not now?
Otherwise still attract CGT if sold and used for next years ISA allowance?

HL ISA now open, awaiting ISA transfer in and my 2020 contribution!

If for argument sake you have lets say IAG as a recovery share and have £10K in value today, if they increase to £20K by next year (or close to it) then you can use next years allowance to put a tax free wrapper around the shares and cash them in whenever with no consideration for CGT.

R - Bought back CCL at 1142 ... maybe more now at 1125 DOH!

Sold half my CCL earlier 1174.5

European bank announcement on financial measures to aid EU etc. due at 12:45.
Looks like of pumping money into industry, cash to families / children to kick start economies.

Do we expect a rise in prices then??
