The new pension freedoms changed a lot of these things. If I took out my pot I would get taxed at I think 60% !!!! When I died, it is left in a pension and as long as the beneficiaries use it as a pension it carries on .. as savings or drawdown if applicable. If they took it out it would then be taxed.!

Complicated subject pensions.... at least I get 25% of my monthly drawdown tax free as I didn't take the lump sum.

Wondered, if they were locked up in a S&S ISA. So £20k can go in ... fine.
Currently was using my and the other half's CGT allowances less fees and stamp duty ... Yes it's self assessment time again! At least I made little in last tax year!

On pensions, I had 29 years in a final salary ( defined benefit, lots of contributions from ICI ) scheme with ICI, which then became a deferred pension when they sold us to another company, who made their scheme a money purchase pension scheme ( was actually OK but far less benefits than a final salary! Although most of the perks had gone when we were sold like spouse & kids pension, death in service etc ).
I moved that reasonable pension pot via CETV and got 3.5 times the value in my personal pension pot, which is nice. And when I pop my cloggs it is NOT put into the pension scheme black hole it goes to my kin as a pension outside of inheritance tax ( unless they take it all out! ).

So I drawdown off that pot monthly but trading, I could reduce that ... or buy that Tesla! :-o

I have looked into CGT allowances, losses/costs etc. and adjusted my income drawdown to keep me under the higher tax rate to minimise CGT!

T - Now that's interesting.... can I trade shares ( day trade? ) shares if they are in an ISA stocks & shares wrapper? Obviously "interest" is tax free ... but does that minimise/avoid legally! capital gains tax on sales profits??

Or is it just to hold long term shares? I have only had managed stocks and shares ISA before ( Royal London ) which worked well but out of my control ... not as if I knew anything then!

Yeah, still a few K MCRO .. bought in the drop this am and sold those for a profit, my average is weird ( think HL averages ALL sales even if shares sold ages ago .. like the ones I bought at 880, 760, 620 etc as the at fell at the start of this virus .).

Looking for over 447 for break even?? even tho the shares cost mid 430's !

Anyway, busy at times, slow at others today, another good profitable day .. that's two this week!

S - After we last talked about Plus - small movements - I did have a dabble @ 1299 .. took 2 weeks to make £90!! Only 1k shares though ... sold today at 1310.
Morrisons - had bought a few for the divi... sinally sold today at very slight loss ... hope the divi is worth it !!! ( ok, £25 loss, divi £144 I think on 3k shares! ).

Depending on model, there are std wheels ( 20" ) or extra 22" and carbon! Around £2k for 4 IIRC !!!

For a test drive, no wait I think. The 7 day part was buy, return in 7 days if you don't like!
There is a lease, PCP, HP etc. type schemes for around £1k month too.

No petrol/diesel engine/plugs/air filter/oil/oil filter/gearbox/clutch. 10 year /150000 mile battery warranty, 8 year motor warranty... and all the tech you can throw a stick at. 4,5,7 seats depending on model. I think the model Y would suit you, so check the Tesla web site when markets close perhaps.

Petrol ones, all are fine, I am not up enough with the details right now to help!

Remember the government commitment to phase out diesels and then petrol vehicles by 2030 ish ....

Sold a 2k share tranche on MCRO bought at 423 this morning, @ 447.
Going to sell this afternoons OCDO soon....

WOW, while I was writing Cars .. CCL collapsed, had to buy in more at 1179!

T -The model Y Tesla is a SUV, a little taller and slightly wider than the Model 3 ( the latest model, sort of aimed at ULK/Europe ).
Model S is rather larger, more US car sized. All get over 300 miles a charge.
Each model has at least 3 type - standard ( 2 wheel, basic battery and std range near 300 miles); Long range - 20% more milage and 2 or 4 wheel drive; Performance - faster, more features, more expensive!

Charging - some models come with lifetime FREE (super)charging using Tesla's network of chargers - the others are paid for, but around £6 for 300+ miles! The superchargers will charge 180 miles worth in around 15 minutes. Other charger types will give less, say 80 miles in 30 mins.

You can / are advised to have a charger fitted at home, and there are a couple of types, std, fast, supercharger( I think you can supercharger but may depend on your mains feed?).
About £1000 +, but government provides a grant of upto £500, so £1000 charge point would be £500.
Can also be set to use solar power if you have the panels!!

Don't think there are any Tesla dealers in wales / near you, but there are a few charge points, and many more non Tesla.
Dealers in Kent, Cambridge, London, if that helps.

S - true, HL shows several graphs depending what you set, and there is a DEAL button that takes you to a page without graphs.
What I do is have several browser windows open, one each with my portfolio summary, my wishlist ( for shares I don't hold ), and a window with each share I am looking to trade open with the charts. Then I can trade from my account page and still have graphs available if I switch windows. Without losing info.

Also I found the window tabs show the share name, live price and dy change for quick refernce ( if ther eisspace depending on how many windows! )
