Not been out too much myself, mainly paper shop, the odd grocery too. I'd say 10-15% of people are NOT bothering with face masks, and ignoring the 1 PERSON ONLY signs on the corner shop door. But most are, including the odd time I venture to the supermarket - Tesco or Morrisons or Co-op.

There are always "people" who know best, won't happen to them ... so let them catch it ... think of it as evolution in action!
Get them out of the gene pool!

ASC dropped to about 4370 then bounced to 4560's, now fallen back to mid 4460's! And climbing again!
I've lost my knack on these, maybe tomorrow!

S - my SNG view - glad you did the opposite to what I said! Fell again this morning.
So did ASC.
Presume as mentioned it's the covid stocks getting hit.

Not a good morning, I'll have to sit and wait 'till some recovery.

R - I had a look at it and saved the location, will have a play when I get around to my tax return. Only a small amount in that tax year! At least I can carry over losses!

S - More drops on SNG today, worryingly low now ( half what it was 2 weeks ago! Big loser for me!! ) but the fundamentals haven't changed.
Still a great treatment for COVID, and COPD and other respiratory diseases, tolerated well with steroid treatment, and cheap, so a long term success I think. Short term, need some news, approval, sales etc. then it will bounce back into the 200, even 300p range.
At this price, i'd average down... ( but outta cash! ) so if you have spare capital and fancy a chancer that can deliver in 2021, go for it!
Phase 3 trials started / due to start and awaiting announcement, at home trials well on the way if they got enough sufferers, so could be good.

First bit of frost this morning.

The news said USA emergency approval on the vaccines due around 10 Dec. Not sure about AZN/Oxford one.

Quiet day on the markets.....

Not started my Sa tax return yet, I find it takes longer to gather the info ( even tho' I put it in a folder when I get it for ease! ) than to enter the online form.
S - Pay yourself or OH and claim tax relief on it, as you would have done? if you paid an accountant!
With the number of trades you do was the CGT the longest part!!!

Morning all,

T - Yesterday ASC peaked just over 4550, today its hit over 4580 twice with a dip between. I'm hopeful for over 4600 this afternoon.
I was going to sell at 4550 yesterday expecting a fall back into the 4450's but didn't... would have been difficult to buy back much lower after all unless I caught todays open so better to watch and sell higher today!

S - LOL, Lidl don't do phone signals, not even in the middle aisle!
Yes, I have got to that position a lot, no cash, in shares that are low profit or reasonable loss .... either mis out.. or sell at a loss and move investments!
As you say, there are many opportunities and I see many shares at low prices, maybe time to buy. As I said, I'll decide then do opposite!!!

Been watching ASC all day, opened down down to 4430 ish, slowly rose to 4525, up and d down a bit ... so trading range there. Even lose 173p/share if sold at 4525, buy back later / in morning at 4440 ish ... 2 trades and covered losses! Dithered at 4525 as I worked it out .....

Lucky buy this morning, SNG at 101.8p.
Unfortunately it sits with the 170+p shares and doesn't really average down!

Thinking a new strategy, add more cash, buy now as cheap, trade them to death, leaving the larger holding for the BOOM in SP later! Along with GGP.
Trying to move the fund and share account value into the ISA to the limit, but need to be in profit/have the cash !!!! Perhaps leave the LTH in the ISA ... trade in the F&S ... I'll need to look at the tax implications in that!!

Some tiddlers are showing movements - 0.05 of a penny on a 1.1p share, , but with enough shares that can be tradeable!

M - That guy owned Probe, it was Pete Burns; in a couple of bands and probably know for Dead or Alive ( you spin me round ) and then going weird with over the top plastic surgery!

S - I often see shares open SP being different to the previous nights close. Seems to open quite a bit higher or lower.
I presumed it was due to overseas markets / futures giving a hint to the II's and MM's on the way it's going to go on open?

It was on the news that all ages, race, ethnicities sowed good results, and the side effects are minimal / well tolerated - just fatigue ( 3% ) and headaches.
As Moderna's is same tech should be similar results from them.

S - CCL are doing a $1bn issue to pay off the loan notes due 2023 .... will this placing dilute the share price?? Or be good news as $500m debt removed?

CARNIVAL TO RAISE $1BN TO BUY BACK NOTES
(Sharecast News) - Carnival said it planned to raise $1bn (£753m) with an equity offering to buy convertible bonds back from their holders.
The cruise operator said Carnival Corp would offer 57,426,860 shares priced at $18.05 a share to a limited number of holders of its 5.75% convertible senior notes due 2023. The FTSE 250 company said it would use the proceeds to buy back notes with total face values of $499,364,000 in privately negotiated transactions.

Carnival said it would not receive any proceeds from the transaction and would pay the normal fees and expenses. Goldman Sachs is acting as the placement agent for the offering.

"The transactions will not have a material impact on the corporation's cash position," Carnival said. The offer is expected to close on 19 November and note repurchases will end promptly following the transaction. Carnival said 8.2m of shares would close on 20 November.

Carnival's business has been hammered by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has cast doubt on the long-term future of the cruise industry. The company agreed to pay bond investors 11.5|% a year to borrow $4bn in a rescue fundraising in April.

Well, just had a reply from HL re: 9 Nov ( 9/11 !! ) HL outages...
Basically the T&C's do not guarantee 100% access to trade, and especially busy day with the Pfizer announcement and USA election "result"....

Ohh well, didn't expect much more. Their team are looking into how to prevent a reoccurrence!
