Well, I just realised if I had sold PLUS at the 1458 ish mark, I could have bought back now at around 1409!!!

I understand what you are saying, and I honestly DO listen to what you, S, O etc. say re: trading styles.
Please know that I wasn't being flippant or having a go at you in my last message, it was just a bit of light relief on my (poor at times ) trading habits. I was doing the spikes/shakes trading and making a nice profit.

I trade a few times quite well in a share, then when I next buy on a shake it falls more, obviously bought too early so get stuck at too high price as the shake continues! That's with no news or results, just market sentiment / movement.

I'm OK with waiting a bit for a rise again, but miss the day trading!!

I can see from this friendly board that we all make mistakes or bad judgement and while I take no pleasure in others losses it shows it isn't just me doing it at the wrong time.

T - that info is useful for us ( well, me anyway! ) to look into.
There are THAT MANY shares out there we can't watch / study them all, and those that get on TV etc. or the web get swamped or hammered.

So I usually look into shares mentioned on here, maybe on other boards that I/we hold shares in, and maybe mentioned on HL etc.
I only got into CCL, MCRO, SNG due to you guys mentioning them!

I sometimes peruse Twitter - usually if a link on the boards - like here to swazers charts, Zak mir etc.

S - I think it was I who suggested setting your weekly target for a Wednesday and have a wine, and stretch target of double weekly target by Friday. Commission welcome! ;-)

T - Surprisingly, that's what I was doing on GGP, sell at 29, buy at 24, sell at 27, buy at 24 ... then they drop! Same when I was trading the spare GGP tock in the 30's - buy 32 sell 36, buy 34 sell 36 .. then drop. Hence "stuck" with over priced shares when price falls. I don't yet seem to stop buying in a trading pattern when price recedes... same on ASC, PLUS, and in the past CCL and MCRO. I try to keep trading on a falling SP, and end up averaging down.
Only problem is that I end up with all capital invested, no trading funds left!

Probably need to double my fund pot!!!

S - Yep, Plus hovering around 1408, I held these a few weeks so may as well wait for divi, and see if price drops or not!

T - Yes, I had an alert go off on PS5 at about 01:30 last night, all gone in the time it took to walk between 2 rooms!

Same again with Very - 13:13 and 13:230, all gone in seconds!

I was looking to buy into ARB when S first mentioned it, when they were about 94p ... thought with the rise I'd wait until they fell back into the 80's. Silly me!

Yes, good results from Plus. Looks like ex-divi is 25 Feb and a nice big divi & special divi too!
T - divi will be paid in Juil ish!!!
So I'll keep the Plus till then unless they shoot up into the 1550's !

SNG holding steady, GGP sort of recovering...

Afternoon all, late start for me today! Couldn't stand the sight of GGP falling and all my red!
T - had a look on Twitter for GGP swazers charts ... hmmmm downwards!
Unfortunately I had been adding as GGP fell .. so a lot tied up in there until I can sell Plus and maybe some SNG.

C - I record all buys & sells - date, price, cost etc. and that's how I noticed the cost of XXXX shares was a lot less than the actual cost price. By about my last sale profit.
OK if just 1 buy in the p/f, but if say 6 lots of SNG at prices from 180 to 222, and it tells me today at 190p I am up £400 ...and 40% of SNG are at 222 I know it's wrong!
I use my s/sheet to see the real cost of the total shares held across several buys ( and each if I want to make it easy and sell the same number! ) and jot it down on a post it to hand to remind me, so not just sell on the blue!

Chess ... was in chess club at school, I was OK but not brilliant. I'd go with Deep Blue!

Still no definite rate of dividend.

Annoyed with HL - when selling at a profit, from several tranches, it seems to take the profit off the cost price ( column ) in the summary so looks like profit when really still down! So sell all at profit but break even!
