There has already been a lot of hypothesizing here for many a day Oiltap. We will have to wait and see.

Re Bird`s comment to you that "there was no way that he was not going to make a handsome profit on his investment in GLR . . . [etc]". Well, he would say that, wouldn`t he?
It is perhaps significant that he hasn`t bought any additional shares in GLR for over a year. Yet, he has made 3 further, large investments in XTR during this year alone! To me, this could indicate that there is nothing imminent on GLR`s horizon.

I can`t imagine that there is any particular link Billy. That said, if Bird was anticipating some positive news any time soon for GLR, then I imagine that he might have been tempted to increase his holding. Again though, that could be seen as Insider Dealing - naughty!

I see Bird has just increased his holding in XTR by about £72K. Difficult to imagine that this was purely speculative. Some insider knowledge I guess.

Billy: Regarding your "3 to 4 weeks we should expect a juicy RNS". Some 2 or 3 months ago, I noted that you claimed to have had a long-standing interest (holding) in GLR. Had this been true, by now you should be well aware that the AIM in general and GLR in particular rarely follow the general plethora of positive BB predictions and opinions. Below, is just one of your contributions of a couple of months ago.

[NB all `sic`]: "Been patient here for years now! I just wonder of any of the regular commenters are infact paid to post! Promise this promise that and then the SP moves in the wrong direction! Still holding but loosing faith. Was the end or feb then march then april and so on!"

For the last year or more, `big time` for GLR has always been `just around the corner`. But, come the end of August, if nothing has happened I do wonder what the next `deadline` will be?

As for your anticipated `juicy RNS`Billy, despite the expected flood of cash arriving into the GLR coffers quite imminently, I would not be surprised to see, in the not too distant future, an RNS with detail of another placement.

Good to see that you are still around Columbo with Troajan too! I thought that you both must have "jumped ship" - leaving just Iky still around from yesteryear!

I was beginning to think that I was the only person left on the planet who has always had serious reservations about GLR since those halcyon, (and lucky) days some 3-4 years ago. Moreover, I have had even stronger negative opinions of Bird; especially with the plethora of non-mining busineses which had clearly held his interest in earlier times, before he finally took his relatively lowly HND along the mining route . . . . . . and I could go on!

I note that you are "awaiting an RNS based on data". I suspect that an RNS announcing another placement to prop up GLR`s activity will be more likely in the short term. And, for the GLR analysts and experts (plus those who just live in unbridled hope) what's the betting on that?

Changing tack, I wonder what has happened to Oiltap. Until a few weeks ago, I always imagined him up in his garret living and breathing all things GLR! On my return yesterday, I notice that he now seems to have disappeared. Shame, because I have just read his last to me many weeks ago which certainly needed a response!

Billy: It is perhaps worthy of commenting further on your use of XTR as an example for your predicted (ie, hopeful) rise in GLR`s SP to 6P.
In March XTR`s SP peaked at 8P, but it has dropped quite steadily since, and is currently down to around 4.3P. Thus, perhaps not the most persuasive of examples!

Yesterday evening, as I was catching up on this Board, I noticed a whole host of complaints about the lack of communication Billy.
Now, unlike most, I don`t rate Bird at all, for various reasons that are not immediately obvious to most. However, I can understand the rationale behind the lack of communication.

Let us look at an RNS. Firstly, there are the mandatory requirements to publish one. For instance, to announce a placement, or any increase in a holding above 3% etc. Secondly, an RNS would likely be announced every time there is significant good news (and this, obviously, would likely push the SP up).
Now, bearing in mind that Bird has a very large holding in GLR, I wonder what other news could he have announced that would satisfy you and others? "Drilling progressing as planned - nothing significant to report" (as an example). So what? That would hardly appease investors and might, reading between those hypothetical lines, even indicate a lack of success - etc, etc. What else would you expect from him? A bland RNS, just to let you know that he loves you!!! Please excuse my sarcasm here, but everyone bleating about poor comms are doing so only because they are hoping for good news - and if, currently, there isn`t any, what is there to tell . . . . . ?

As for using XTR to justify your wild `guess` in GLR`s SP prospects - Hmm! Over what timeframe would you suggest?

Just arrived back here after a lengthy sojourn away. Spent a lot of yesterday evening catching up. Goodness, what a lot has happened and changed!
For Billy: Your "So what are people's predictions on the SP just of the Kalahari news? 6p for me". That is purely wishful thinking Old Boy - 6p is `Dreamland`. I suggest that you look back at the myriad of positive predictions that have been made since you came on board some months ago, and try to find a significant prediction that has proved to be right.
I very much suspect that yesterday`s 10% rise was purely a reaction to the recent, inexorable fall in GLR`s SP.

Firstly, I am surprised that you are still here. From what I could gather on your Sat PM post, you were jumping ship and selling your 11 million shares!

In answer to your questions, I see nothing wrong in anyone REPEATING facts about company-released news and, if it is their want, getting excited about it.

As for your comment that, if an investor is not excited about the future of the company, he/she should better find a share to get excited about. By that, you clearly infer your opinion that a BB should only be the domain of those who are excited about the company. Goodness, please excuse me if I say it, but that is a rather blinkered view Phoenix!

I think that you will find that many of my comments are not concerning GLR as a company, but in response to previous comments (as, indeed, so is this now!). However, I do acknowledge that I do not hold one Mr Bird in the same regard as do most of the contributors here. A close inspection might reveal why.

Lastly, and just out of curiosity, I could not quite grasp your rationale for planning to move your 11 million holding Phoenix. No signs of your mega-sale yet. Do you mind me asking - what has changed your mind?

I suspect from your rather incapacious view of life and opinions on a BB Oiltap results in your conclusions always being either black or white! Anyone who voices an opinion or makes a statement that could possibly be against your idealistic thrust towards GLR seemingly brings your `shutters` crashing down. Beyond the confines of a BB, that could be a very dangerous trait/weakness that would likely limit your progress in life! Take my advice, you need to work on it!

In answer to your question - Me? - a ramper or de-ramper? Frankly, I don`t think that, individually, there is such thing. It is no more than a BB figment. I have no doubt that it takes a GROUP of like-minded investors to affect the SP - either up or down. Ergo, it would be naive in the extreme to suspect that any views or comments I might make could make me a `ramper` or a `de-ramper`.

For your interest, and apropos my interest in GLR, I did very well out of GLR during halcyon days some 4 years ago, even though I jumped ship a little later than commonsense ought to have dictated. Out of interest and curiosity I retained a very small holding which now stands at around £1.2K. Thus, it follows that I would rather GLR continues to progress upwards to become (in the BB vernacular) an even greater `multi-bagger`. Beyond that, I will occasionally continue to state my views - even if they may continue to incur your displeasure, should they not follow the general BB flow.

So Oiltap, that should be enough from me for you to be able to get your teeth into and continue with your `bully-boy` critical attitude in response to anything I might say!

As an aside Oiltap - Is what follows "piffle" or "waffle" or, indeed just a lengthy irrelevance within the environs of this BB?!

In your last, you infer that I thought that there was a probability that the sp would "reduce more than it is to gain" and "The sp could go down short term and then back up long term". I can`t find any accuracy in your quotes you allude to within parenthesis amongst my recent posts.

As for asking me about my thoughts on the movement of the sp "reducing by how much and when" - it is a foolish man who tries to predict on such things within the AIM, both up or down. Moreover, if you read my comments more carefully, you may see that I have not actually predicted anything. And why? Because I don`t know with any degree of certainty. All I do know is to take the eulogistical opinions I read on BBs with some general scepticism. I should add though, not with thoughtful criticism of any particular comment, for the views are very mostly well-researched and knowledgeable. However, my overall `scepticism` has arisen because I have seen and heard it all before in contexts various) and over many years.

Billy: I wouldn`t describe the recent, alternate opinions and reasons included on this BB as `hostility`
DC: As for the big investors I was referring to DC, I was naturally meaning GLR itself and NOT including others who may be either aligned or having similar interests and activities within this arena. As for "some people focusing on the small negatives and not taking into account the bigger picture", it just might be that some have `seen it all before` and balance their views accordingly.
As anyone can see here, in GLR`s case the vast proportion of opinion on this BB is positive and most also seem to regard GLR`s impending financial success as a foregone conclusion - a `cert`. Me? I am not driven by such `certs`in my decision-making process and I retain a certain amount of healthy scepticism. By this, I don`t meen GLR in particular, but in my general investment modus operandi.
So DC, to quote you "Another month isn`t long to wait" eh? A brave inference - roll on 12 June!
