Billy: The share price has increased about 7-fold since this time last year!
Mind you, I do wonder how long it will be before GLR actually starts `producing the goods`, one way or another? I saw, and benefitted greatly from a much larger rise some 3-4 years ago when GLR peaked at around 8P following consistent, positive opinion plus a vast plethora of fine research from apparently knowledgeable members of this Board. Then, it was all to no avail, nothing happened and the SP quickly dropped back to rock bottom. However, one thing keeps my interest in GLR. Bird has continued to invest substantial amounts of his own money into GLR and, bearing that in mind, he is right there, on the proverbial `coal face`.
Now folks, having said my six-pennyworth, is there anyone out there who would like to go firm on a likely timeframe when GLR will finally start producing . . . . . . one month, 3 months, 6 months? I do wonder.

Because there are few significant `buys` or `sells`.

I have just been trawling back through this BB looking for something that had jogged my mind when I came across your input of 30 Jan. Inter alia, you clearly (and rightly) felt the need to put Troajan and Icky in their respective places. I echo your somewhat acerbic sentiments, and they certainly brought on an early morning smile! Must add though that, within your many, many inputs over the years (which I have always appreciated) I don`t ever recall noticing such tetchy and liverish comments from you before! Clearly, those said `plonkers` which you referred to must have touched a nerve within your innards!

The simple rationale of a placement is that it actually puts more cash into the company coffers but, as a matter of course, it DILUTES the value of all of the shares currently held within the company.
Over a longer period though, (and in general terms), there could be hope that the additional cash would be invested wisely in company activities, which may then increase the value of the company accordingly. But, "over the next week or so", hopefully yes there will be an increase but, logically, any increase in the SP will not be because of the placement.

I have never thought to ask for a definitive reason, but always have assumed that, if the spread is high, then the MMs don`t have too many shares to sell. Conversely, if the spread is low, then they have lots available and want to move them. I wonder?

Oiltap - Yes, and to my chagrin, the Love of my Life`s 11-year old daughter sorted it out for me - in about 5 seconds!

Here`s a little maths test for you hairydavey regarding Bird`s average value of his holding in GLR:

2011 he owned 44.2M then worth 46P each . . . . ie valued at circa £20.3M
He has then added to his holding, either by placings or purchases as follows:
May 2015 +980000 @ 2.02P
Mar 2016 +5M @ 1P
Sep 2017 +1.25M @ 2P
May 2019 +6M @ 0.5P
Oct 2019 +5M @) 0.4P
Jun2020 +2.6M @ 0.73P

At GLR`s current price, the value of Bird`s current holding would appear to be around £12M - on reaching 4P he will show a small gain over his 2011 holding. NB "fag packet" figures!

I don`t really feel the need to `move on` Phoenix. I suspect that I have retained a holding with GLR long before most who have an interest these days. Incidentally, I state this purely as a FACT, not as a `badge of honour` or to give me bragging rights, but purely to correct your wildly inaccurate comment. I have been constantly `in` with the company since those heady days nearly 4 years ago when GLR was then pushing 8P.
As for having just `2 posts on GLR`. I suggest that you need to look much further back than your recent days to see my overall involvement with GLR.

There is something rather cheap, yes, even distasteful when some feel the need to brag about the quantities of their purchases and/or holdings. For certain, It is not the sort of thing that would ever happen in the snug of The Rag.

CaveatEmptor: It seems to me that Bird will certainly NEED to "make a mint" on GLR.
Looking back to December 2011, Bird held 44M shares in GLR at a price of 46P each. Thus, they were then worth over £20M to him. Over the years, Bird has progressively increased his holding to its current level of over 63million. At today`s value, they are therefore worth a total of around just £790K. Ergo, sceptic that I am, I guess that we will have wait and see !

Billy0813 - regarding your hope of a rise to 5P before Spring-time next year - I very much doubt it. Much bigger players than most on this BB would have jumped in by now with all guns blazing if there was a strong likelihood of a 400% rise to 5P in less than 5 months.
