I`m not sure that I would regard MinorMiner as `pumping` this stock Zeb, although he usually had a positive slant on the perceived opportunities for the company. I always appreciated his research and broad knowledge of the wider aspects of GLR and its various links.

My last was all very much tongue in cheek roosters. My bet is that there`s just one person in the world who pays attention to anything Blueface says - and, most likely, that is his `better half`.

Back in April, and I think it was on a Tuesday, GLR was climbing high and at around 1.45p.
A VERY knowledgeable and highly respected Investment Guru on this Board predicted GLR would be up at around 2P by the end of the week. He had `topped up` and, moreover, sometime earlier he informed all also all that he had even put his son`s ISA into GLR.

With such positive and valued opinion, I increased my mortgage considerably and cashed in as much of my pension as possible - all just in time for the predicted rise by our Guru. Now, some 4-5 months later, and GLR down by around 20+% from the April 1.45p, my house has been repossessed. Out of necessity too, I have now had to become a regular at our local food bank - 6 miles away on my bike.

In my sad state, I can now only imagine, with some envy, our Guru, still with his feet up in his parcels office, offering succinct, knowledgeable advice to other naïve innocents like me - no doubt whilst also flicking through brochures for exotic holiday destinations next year. Oh dear, some people have all the luck!

I wonder if any others here have also been admirers of the respected Guru? But oh, I forgot to mention his name didn`t I? It is BLUEFACE of course - the financial wizard from his local parcels depot !!! But where is he now?

MinorMiner: Re your comment within your post of 28 Dec: "Besides it seems that research is frowned upon." I suspect that your research is only frowned on by those who don`t have the intellect, indeed basic brain power or knowledge to understand or follow it. They much prefer one-liners which are invariably drivel and add nothing of any substance to the board. Note how such people eagerly respond to balderdash! To them, such inane trivia is the whole raison d`etre of the board. From my standpoint, your research and views are always worth reading.

Well Blueface, you have excelled yourself this time!!! I find your hypocrisy regarding MM little short of amazing. As for MM`s zinc articles, let us not forget the FIVE posts on ZINC which you so graciously submitted to us all, one after the other on 3 November. They were all undoubtedly copied and then pasted by you from other places various. And, I might add, all rather irrelevant to GLR as a company. Frankly, your 5 posts were no more than a sad attempt by you to appear knowledgeable. If you want to impress, then fine, but don't accuse others of copying and pasting when you have done it yourself. And, before you start claiming that your posts were all `original thought`, anyone who read them would have immediately noticed that the grammar and punctuation were all just about faultless, and, even in the most lengthy one, not ONE spelling mistake. Ergo, they were so obviously Copy/Paste material. Now Blueface, please don`t think that I am being critical about you usual spelling, grammar or punctuation - for they are what they are. But, there is no way on this earth that those posts of 3 November were original to you, or even paraphrased by you, for they had an intellectual air which was clearly well-beyond your normal contributions. Eyesblue: I agree wholeheartedly with you that MM and Troajan "are the only posters on here with any insight into current markets etc" . . . . and, I would challenge Blueface to highlight any contribution he has made which has added any genuine substance to this board. It`s late, so I will add one particular Blueface quote which may bring on a chuckle or two before bed . . . . ! "We need to pull together here and share our research for new investors". What `research` Blueface? And lastly folks, a rhetorical question to myself - "Can I expect a cogent, considered response from he who knows so little but says so much?" Doubt it somehow!

Well done FEVR! Market Cap has now passed £2billion today. It is following my other `Little Beauty` BOO quite nicely. And, NO folks, this isn`t me trying a little ramping!

Market22: I share your sentiments re Woodford. It seems to me that he has gone off the boil since he started his own unit trusts. For instance, his very popular CF Woodford Equity Trust is much loved by Hargreaves Landsdown. They immediately placed it in their "Wealth 150+" list when the fund started up a couple of years ago (for reasons best known to themselves!). Over the last year, his fund increased by 12% - compared with the FTSE100 increase of 24%. Moreover, in the previous year, it gained less than 3%. Conversely, a fairly similar, large fund "Fundsmith Equity" has gained around 30% in the last 12 months - and its track record over 5 years has been absolutely first rate (bar none). So, to my mind, Woodford is now purely living on his past reputation. Enough of Woodford - I fell out of PURP when my holding was triggered by a 2% stop/loss a few weeks ago, and its continued slide has kept me out. I now retain no more than a passing interest, brought on by the PURP executives from the CEO down dumping a good number of their shares. They are in a better position than anyone to judge the present, short term prospects of their company. When and if I see them jumping back in then, perhaps, so will I. Until then, BOO, BUR and IQE retain my interest within the AIM. As for PURP? Short-term, I can see no reason for the present downward trend to stop.

What a strange day. This morning`s steep drop amazed me. The results seemed to be top notch to my simple mind. Still, some of the `High Rollers` certainly seem to have had their fingers burned! A stop/loss took me out after a 2% drop - but I didn`t have the balls to jump back in around the bottom - shame! Still, I thought that I had missed this particular boat when I renewed my position when the rise was just +1%. How pleasing - and the sun is shining here too! Yes, what a strange day - but a great day! Will call into Waitrose later and see what FEVR varieties I can find - a bottle of posh gin might call too!

A really sound long-term prospect. Better than most on the AIM.

Just checked with my broker. MMs DEFINITELY have no information regarding Stop/Loss `positions`. It always remains in house with the broker UNTIL the Stop Loss price is reached. Then, the sale is automatically submitted - just as any normal sale would be.

Re your question about how Stop-Loss works - NO, the MMs have no idea that you have submitted a Stop-Loss price. Your price is held by the broker (in my case, H-Landsdown) and the sale is only triggered if the SP drops to your pre-designated figure. Sometimes though, if the price is dropping very quickly, then the sale might have to go through somewhat lower than the specified Stop-Loss. For info, two other AUTOMATIC facilities are also available. Firstly, a `Buy Limit` where you can get an AUTO purchase at your specified amount if/when the price drops to suit. Secondly, there is also an `Upper Sell Limit` when your shares are auto sold for you if a specified upper price is reached. I assume that all brokers have these three facilities.

You read my mind yesterday eve Ionic. I had a stop/loss at 325p in place for I too had become concerned about the sustainability of PURP`s meteoric rise. I expect that it might take a week or two for the SP to settle down to something more truly reflective.

cyberduck and sain@vision seem to be busting a gut vis a vis the efficacy, or otherwise, of PURP in the estate agent business. In my view, it really is minutia in the extreme to try to get a point across by posting a link listing just one person`s experience with the company. My opinion of PURP? As an investor, I try to find companies (mainly AIM) which will provide me with a good return. Goodness, PURP is doing that in spades! With this in mind, how it conducts its business is largely an irrelevance.

Broker upgrade would appear to be from `Berenberg` - whoever they may be! Became aware of FEVR last year when a group of wealthy arable farmers in my local insisted that Mine Host provided FEVR mixers for them, rather than the ubiquitous Sch . . . .! Previously, they had been a group which I had held in quite inconsequential regard! Come to think of it, I still do but, nonetheless, FEVR has become a welcome addition to my portfolio. Moreover, my butler seems to approve!

I reckon that it is time that Jefferies International revised their assessment of PURP (as on the Hargreaves Landsdown PURP page)! In November 2016, their assessment of PURP was "Underperform" and that was at a share price of "94p" . Sharp cookies eh?!

Three of my 4 holdings in the AIM are down this morning - yet still showing an early profit. Well done PURP!

I hope that I don`t sound too churlish when I say that I stand by my THEN comments of Tuesday regarding the lack of any incentive to buy. The reasons for my opinion were obvious - there had been an unexplained but significant drop in the PRSM share price over the previous couple of days or so, coupled with a spread of 6.5% to buy. It would appear that my views were shared by most because, at the time, there were few purchases appearing of any significance. Now, I have to say that I am delighted that PRSM has recovered from it`s unexpected glitch albeit, having reduced my holding considerably a few days ago, and haven`t yet taken the plunge to get back in.
