Although any theory is probable - bearing in mind Venezuelan oil banditry - pipeline sabotage is now an established fact. Transporting plundered quantities along Maranon tributaries at night must be an easy route. All illicit activities are likely and impossible to eliminate in an Amazon jungle.

It is as well an expanding route to Manaus is available but a growing naval presence is also likely.
