SS - I ain't no expert but have knowledge across a fair range of African geology and mining. It does not include the Red Sea area. I have been nearly 3 km down the Western Deep which I think is now superseded by Mponeng, Witwatersrand. And locally, the Jurassic Coast fascinates me. My mind is possibly made up on CEY but I wanted to tap into holders' opinions as there are big volume punters in the stock. Their knowledge must be extensive.

Should the rock be dolomitic and porous, leading to leaching, there might be an extra problem here. Water can be seen to have collected at two open pits.

Runoff scour is visible and is further confirmed a few metres west at coordinates -

I suspect the overburden dump is the cause of slippage but there are no visuals to confirm elevation of any dump. Like I said, it's my decision. Also, if local illegal artisanal practice is allowed on the site (as occurs in all African countries) stabilisation of the area will be arduous and long.

re: Detection. Thought I read somewhere that movement had been detected via radar. Presumably there's more than one method. The humble Leica @ ~£200 could suffice and GPS does the job although I know little about the tech.

I might not be invested yet but keep a keen eye on it. Overreaction always follows a reversal although over-selling here has been pronounced. Some very substantial investors are going awol. The bottom should be reached within days, The head honcho(s) should have their positions reviewed. Naivete is hardly helping.

I listened again to the June Proactive chat yesterday (see link above) as some of the detail tends to fade. A primary purpose was to refresh on the Rosterman feature. There is a rectangular map section which has high mineralisation and never exploited. It will be one of SHG's targets.

Also, it is apparent that II interest continues, numbering ~25 (mainly US)(see @ 22 mins).

Well worth a listen for anyone who is considering Shanta. I'm satisfied to have extended holding which now equates to SOLG in value. We don't need any takeover activity if only because the Tanzan authorities will be unhappy about it.

Always advisable to keep a watch on what is going on elsewhere. CEY has had a serious reversal. Google satellite map inspection shows probable cause of movement in the Sukari west wall. The slime dam is not ideally located. Our ops are unlikely to have a similar weakness. (See above link.)

Whilst POG continues to surge or stay well over $2k/oz there should be little anxiety over a nationalisation issue in the short term. Any noises coming from widespread communities should be noted as next year's elections draw closer. Nyerere was rigidly pro-grassroots agriculture/subsistence farming. During his tenure the country remained one of the poorest in Africa.

By contrast, Magufuli has done a reasonable job developing it. His income is modest.

I am hoping a quid pro quo has been established between EZ and the authorities. Shanta has done its utmost to get along with bureaucracy. The very proposal of listing on the Dar exchange is indicative of their good faith. That institution is in its infancy stage. Apparently there are only 27 companies on the board. Surely the step is being taken as a result of a government request. The step may also be a catalyst for obtaining private investment from UAE, etc.
