Have spent a fair amount of time reading up the Lake Vic/Migori/Lirhanda locations and geology. Fascinating stuff going all the way back to papers written in 1988. There are also more impressive grades from Aviva published in 2011 for Bushi/Isulu. One better understands EZ's enthusiasm for the task ahead. The backfilling op could be jaw-dropping.
RE: Gold price when it starts to Rocket30 Oct 2020 16:14
A couple of big expectations today. It would be astonishing if they materialised to that extent. I examine my own motivation for investing in SHG and sum it up thus: My preference if at all possible is to not join any line-up to the Exchequer with a begging bowl. That's the ingrained culture. Today's society takes an entirely different view, i.e. entitlement. OK, I know I'm obsolete - ranked alongside the dodo.
Momentum has really accelerated in the past hour. I was beginning to wonder if anyone was bothering to counter the consequences of further economic chaos. That said, I am appalled at the thought of further shutdown. 15.028p on the bid @ 10:38.
RE: InterEsting RNS tonight from CEY29 Oct 2020 20:30
Have been following the unfolding story and remain uncertain. This SP raid has been overdone unless the insiders are privy to hidden info. Shall be taking one step only, i.e. recording MorningStar stakeholder data as @ 30/09/20 and comparing it with any changes that show up on 31/10/20. BofA appointment has thrown me and there are very few indicators to point direction.
Thanks mick-b. I got there in the end. It looks as though things are shaping up quite nicely. Had been a bit sceptical on the immense "interest" being shown over the book-build etc. It would be very encouraging to see us returning to 20p in the next 2 months . . . especially as the IMF is urging Rishi to continue his borrowing spree.

35,234,205 trades shown on ADVFN but not reflected here. Has anyone got a link to a free site giving a more accurate record? I did use Telegraph/Finance/Shares until they abandoned their old format. Bit lost on the subject for the moment. Thanks.
The stock has now fallen below my buy-in price. Glad the stake was a modest one only. Too much hot air being tossed around by some. Remember these are very early days.
RE: Made all the buyers out as fools28 Oct 2020 15:24
Don't fret unnecessarily, Tornado. We have all been down that road. My guesstimate is the overhang hasn't cleared yet. Sit tight for the present. EZ with his banking experience should have been aware of having another announcement waiting in the wings to (re)stimulate the SP. I can't see from where the next fillip comes. Singida update could be next. A lot of overburden must have already been cleared. The pathway is laid out in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex0xO1A3Rvs (Gold down $32 at the moment.)
RE: With Regards To Yesterday's Holding RNS'28 Oct 2020 12:40
@ 11:05 Looks as though I got the JL announcement wrong although there was no indication of a past stake held. An annoying mistake. Equally annoying is the squeeze on SHG. But we have been around the block a few times on refinancing. No point in being naive and certainly confirms my view there was no need to join everyone in the stampede.
Also, I noted last night that 15 nursing staff at Kakamega hospital had gone down with covid. So the virus is regathering its threat everywhere. Infill drilling may take a hit in terms of schedule.
EZ has shown an interest on construction of the WK refinery so there will be more shillings required if it becomes fait accompli.
I'm not about to claim I have any answers but when a certain Mr Leslie apparently spends £4.9m in one swallow it's time to rethink. Likewise, when EZ highlights Quebec and Kalgoorlie greenstone belts it's time to do some more specific reading. So part of the evening has been given to -
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1464343X16301248 which included "A test drill hole proposed on the basis of the geophysical results of this study struck massive sulphides at a depth of 30m still within the weathered rock zone. Unfortunately, the drilling was stopped before the sulphides could be penetrated. The drill core revealed massive sulphide rich in pyrite and pyrrhotite".
Unfortunately my hands-on knowledge is restricted to NoordKaap, the Kalahari and Namibia. Kenya and Tanzania have been more about riveting landscapes and perhaps the many ancient volcanoes.
I would like to add local detail to Tanzania but step back as most readers may know more about the country than I do. My own recollections of many African countries, having been in them for 35 years, remain vivid. In sum -
* there is a great deal to interpret from Bristow's statement. https://dailynews.co.tz/news/2020-10-265f968542e6207.aspx * the meaning of "coastline" is unclear unless reference is being made to Lake Vic shoreline; * 10 new licences (where are they?) * the known goldfield area prospects are in close proximity to Serengeti, NgoroNgoro. Kiliminjaro, West Tsavo and other protected areas. Environmental issues enter the frame; * 500+ koz Au is a big step up.
Have we got 7 more Tanz licences to exploit? Are they in protected areas?
I draw my own conclusions on the JL/LL matter and regard them as a plus.
Repeat of post early October. Suggest notes be taken of holders via the above link. Click in all tabs. The records will change on 1st November.
I have had another look following EZ's declaration of "incredible interest". How many of them will convert that interest into a stakeholding? And how many of those who have been selling be revising upwards?
It would suit me to have another top-up in the next hour . . . though unsure how the Barrick overhang is going to play out. Have a sense it could drag on to Friday. Who knows.
Tricky, to say the least. Are you in fact saying SHG will collapse by a third? Or are you sure South Africans (tenfold purchasing power decline), Zimbabweans (many thousandfold), Kenyans/Tanzanians (100fold+ in their shillings) would have been better off staying in cash for 20 years . . . had they stored bills under their beds? Many of them still practise the habit.
