Monday week I will be putting cash into a 2019/2020 ISA then buying SXX for the ISA and immediately selling same number of shares in my regular share account. That way the SP has only got a few seconds to blind side you.
Did this last year and the SP was 30p - so with hindsight it was a bit pointless.

sorry to disagree but if (say) $500m worth of equity was issued to one investor it would give them a big chunk of the Company and so would fetch a healthy premium over the present SP

Scotman I agree - there is no point having large chunks of cash sitting in the bank. A lot of people are more cautious than me - otherwise why is this BB full of antsy posts about the date S2 will be announced?
SL is worried about the effect of "shocks" but I would have thought as construction progresses there will be less and chance of a massive adverse event.
It will be nice if SL produces a direct answer to my question

As a shareholder I obviously do not want any dilution but from a Company point of view issuing more shares is the cheapest way of raising money
