I'm also still here, its hard to imagine the confidence here last Xmas as we went into this year ! Everything seemed to be aligned along with FDBK having the only legal communication application that could be used within the NHS.

The reality is other than the QVH contract extension contract in April 23 ( what's happened to the replacement tender!) we have not had solid news of progress since, nearly a year ago .. ....6th September last year when they won the first QVH contract !

The UK does not particularly look good IMO with all the NHS pressures and strikes plus when was the last time you read about Community Diagnostic Centre development. I think the Tory's will claim that they have hit that target in the next election ! even though is is only half the story.

We are waiting for the Indian BLEEPA licence to be granted , so to manufacture and distribute in India , and told it could take anytime up until end of this year ! Hopefully, they ill hit the ground running with an order from Qure.ai or somewhere .

CareLocker is at present our product that is selling in India , in small amounts and I hope has been taken up in other city's in India. Even an update on CareLocker in India would be something IMO

Saying all that I still think something has to give here, as the technology is spot on, just a few major circumstances have made the share price retrace, as if its a new company with a new product. This share could still be a very good investment going forward, much more risky than this time last year, as far as confidence is concerned - but at this price worth a punt for some.

This tender document from late last year, .. world bank funded and WEST BENGAL STATE ELECTRICITY, states

The plug-in type communication WAN module shall

The supplied smart meters shall support the prevalent latest communication technology

solutions like RF Mesh/4G (with 2G fallback)/NB-IOT communication network etc

Just a quick look on Tender Tiger and there are approx. twenty smart meter tenders looking to either appoint an AMISP or award smart meters that are closing in the next thirteen days, with a number recently closed or closing today.

Probably the only way of seeing the size of the potential near term opportunity , is to watch it as it is coming down the line.

If this quantity of awards is going to be the norm, at a consistent rate for the next six plus months then at some point in the near future - there will be a massive increase in news and awards to the sub contractors generally, and also hopefully a steep increase in awards for CC .

Just to be clear the 1 m award from Montecarlo at the beginning of this year was for Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a different state from Bihar, the one mentioned in my link below.

Looks like another award in Bihar will be announced sometime soon for 1.12 crore meters. CC have already been awarded 1 m from Genus towards the a Bihar contract last year. Have a read and note the comments regarding Montecarlo Ltd!

We obviously do not know the tender spec, or if there is a rf solution required, but shows that (If Genus also made a bid) in this case, at least two of our partners may be going head to head for contracts.

Wonder why, the Supreme court had to intervene to make a decision.

It was issued in August 22, and as of 19th June 23 was not awarded, I'm not sure if it has been awarded since!

Hi Tony, as the report submitted was rejected by the commission , which i think was that the initial proposal of a scattered, as required rollout of ( cellular) smart meters, and also that this report was only published a month or two ago, i think this may open up the opportunity of for a much larger RF mesh solution state wide, as stated in the report as the second option, as the best solution for WB, but expensive costs up front , however, we know they will now have to fall into line and use the TOTEX model, which as your have stated should make the entire project financially manageable over say 10 years.

The original proposals where summited long time ago, cant remember from memory as presently do not have access to report, but the rejection is only dates a few months ago.

and several others, i cant find at the moment but its must be a good sign for CC , as no 1 RF communication solution in India as demonstrates , yet another massive market over the next decade or so, along with Gas meters, IoT, and smart city etc

That's is what i was wondering, Tony.

If progress like todays continues, without any evidence of other comms solution awards it might point in that direction. At this stage its just a fanciful hope, but if it turns out to be true and RF solutions get first awards in specific regions, it will certainly speed up any awards to CC, or a competitor.

The only thing is this strategy does sound counter intuitive with the deadlines looming for all awards including all communication types. Then we have to remind ourselves ( as far as i understand) that the 2023 deadline is just for awards to AMISP ...........and then it is up to them to make award to sub contractors and solution providers and include appropriate timelines in to these contracts.

Your point about costs now being taken care of, somewhat, and reliability may now be given even greater priority, is a good observation and seems very logical.

As this rollout is government mandated , you would hope to find some written evidence somewhere of new rules, even if the mandates even change slightly. cheers Vas

Fantastic news today. 5 m order book in India, 1.9 m deployed and 3.1 remainder to be deployed going forward and its still very early days with rafts of new awards to be announced in the following months , year etc.

Does anyone have any info or observations on how the Indian smart meter industry, are covering CC?

They must have a pretty good reputation by now, following their partnerships and subsequent awards and i would expect more third part coverage about the company.

We are made acutely aware of how CC are performing In the India SM rollout by updates via RNS by CC and follow on news coverage in press but what about the other comms solution providers, who should also be winning awards. Where are these awards?

You would expect a few alternative awards to have been announced by now, by competition or made to alternative comms solution providers. If CC do get 20, 25 % of comms awards - this still leaves 75% ( approx. 190 million meters to be awarded to other company's). Does anyone have any info on other awards announced this year awarded to either direct competition, or non rf mesh solutions providers.

I would expect if CC continue in this fashion then the company's progress and potential would be very quickly highlighted in the Indian SM industrial news, and more importantly discussed by Indian investors.

I am unable to find anything, but maybe i am looking in the wrong places or is it a case of a general strategy across specific regions of providing RF solutions to the most difficult customers ( in terms of geography, communication type required, or some other criteria) as a first stage, with the bulk of the more straight forward connections to follow .

Basically, plenty of good news regarding CC recently, but what about news regarding the other, alternative 75% of connections that will also be required within same time lines.

Interesting that Todays order at Rs 2,209 crore is practically identical in size as the previous Genus award on July 4th 23.which was Rs 2,207 crore.

We know that David Powell made a simple transfer of his CC holdings from WPS Capital to his own personal account.

What we do not know is who the seller of the 100,000 trades is? nor, who the buyer is?

It is plausible, that Mr Powell may need to sell a percentage of his CC to make a new investment, but we are told in Fridays RNS "Post this transaction, David Johns-Powell's interests in Ordinary Shares in the Company remain at 16,621,561, representing approximately 6.12% of the Company's total voting rights".

I just do not know , if he was a seller , at what point ( threshold ) he would be obliged to notify the market / and are shares that are held in investment vehicles, treated differently to shares held on personal accounts.

The good news is it does look very likely that there is a buyer for the sales that are appearing at the moment.

I assume from the excitement from Mr Powell on Linkedin, and congratulations from some of the key CC team members that he will shortly, have an investment in this new venture.

Might explain the transfer of shares of CC to his own name - so he can use the newly named WPS Capital solely for his Montenegro investment.

No direct or mention to FDBK, or BLEPA here, but not difficult to see how BLEEPA could play a part.
