Whoever, supplied the rf solution seemed to have real problems earlier in the year according to this report. In fact they were directed to ..

"TKCs were directed to replace burned out RF mode meters with GPRS type Smart Meters, wherever former is not available due to technical reasons".

The second phase covering 5.50 lakh smart meters is under implementation while the third phase which comprises of remaining 14 lakh smart meters is commencing soon and is targeted for completion by 2026, thereby accomplishing 100 per cent smart metering."

Can anyone remind me what was the quantity , and when was the last order CC received for Jammu and Kashmir and who actually awarded CC ?

Regarding the recent six tenders awarded by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL).

The two awards to Adani were for 63.44 lakh meters, and the second for 52.45 lakh meters. Therefore, for an approx. a contract win of 12 million meters !

NCC was given to two awards for 28.86 lakh meters and 27.77 lakh meters . Aprox. 5 million meters.

That's already a total of 17 million meters awarded.

The press release also mentioned Genus and Montecarlo were awarded one award each, the size of which was not specified in the press release - but I think each should be a significant number and not hard to imagine another 10 million plus in total being awarded in total.

Taking these six awards to around 30 m smart meters !

This award could easily be as large as the TamulNadi award that is presently being worked through the system.

We know that Cyan have strong connections to Genus, Montecarlo and NCC ( listed as partnering with CC and on REC list as RF only) and also Adani.

In fact in the Hardman report in November 2022 it stated

"This is borne out by the strong takeup of the company’s Omnimesh platform by new service providers

such as Adani and Monte Carlo. This is in addition to the established partnerships in the market, of which Genus Power Infrastructures is a key example"

We also know that in 2022 Cyan appointed Ajoy Rajani as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CyanConnode India ( who had previously worked for Adani ) and is presently Advisor to Chairman & President at CyanConnode.

The press release stated

"He ( Ajoy Rajani) has held various senior positions with Reliance Communications and Reliance Energy for the last sixteen years, with Ajoy also having held the position of Senior Executive Vice President of Adani Energy Mumbai, where he has driven technological innovation to increase revenues to circa USD 100m."

Therefore, Cyan's involvement with Genus, Montecarlo and Adani and also NCC are undisputed and we should hear soon what the awards are for both Genus and Montecarlo .

I know we cannot assume anything until awards are made to CC, but with all four contract awards going to existing CC partners for such a massive tender of this size - the odds must be excellent that CC will benefit from this particular tender.

Then there is Tamilnadu coming down the road also ...if they both come good, then the odds of a bright Xmas look v. good. In fact the best I can recall.

In fact it seems that NCC are associated with CyanConnode as LTs post of September 2nd 11.21 stated

"There are 7 Companies listed on the REC Empanelment List, not 6, as I indicated on Friday night, that are aligned/partnered with CyanConnode, on the Customer and Partner page of the Zeus report, dated 7th March, 2023.

They are:- 1) MonteCarlo, 2) HPL Electric & Power, 3) Genus Power Infrastructure, 4) Tata Power, 5) NCC Ltd, 6) Schneider Electrics and 7) Alfanar Power.

Not all have provided CyanConnode with orders at this particular time, but they are all Partners of CyanConnode, in one way or another.

If my memory serves me right NCC are empanelled to provide RF only.

I found this interesting from June. It seems its something still in progress, whether a private player leases the spectrum from a telco, or is allocate spectrum form India Government. Interesting stuff anyway.

If its leasing that gets the go ahead then that may explain why ( i have read somewhere) CC have been in discussions with Indian Telcos for some time. GL Vas

I'm just reading about and realising the importance of "Private cellular networks " and how they can provide a dedicated means of communication where the owner has full control and can build in the bandwidth to ensure there is no down time , compared to general cellular networks. It seems its a crucial part of the future, including Smart meters and IOT and others.

It begs the question if little old CC ( along with competitors, i am sure) can provide a dedicated, secure and controlled private cellular network for a smart utility, or city for example then why would India ( jumping the technological curve) wish to stick with and ultimately rely on general cellular with dropouts, black spots and bandwidth issues at busy times etc

A private network is built to manage whatever demand / traffic it is required to manage , so you would expect that it should be able to cover 100% SLA , especially with a RF mesh back up in uncertain areas.

Imp happy to be enlightened if anyone has further info.

Apologies if my Wirepas post was a bit unsettling, :) I don't think it was my post that spooked anyone, its was not an unknown to many, i am sure.

In the realm of things it is what it is, and needs to be explored as similar company's are always relevant and worth tracking. If i had posted that they had won an order from an AMISP then maybe, but even then as we all know even CC do not expect to win everything and to think otherwise is just storing up problems for the future.

Interestingly, way back in Nov 22 CC stated

"The total number of sanctioned meters in states where CyanConnode is an existing supplier is 40.4m, which, in our view, can credibly be described as forming a key part of the company’s addressable market under the Indian programme. .....

It is, to date, the sole provider and/or primary vendor of smart meter connectivity technologies in several states across the country."

Here we are ten months later and as far as i am aware nothing has changed, we are still waiting and importantly no competitor has yet taken a share of the opportunity. This long wait on one hand may account for the SP decline but on the other should imply that sooner rather than later some pretty impressive awards will be made, if the December 2023 timeline is to be met by the Indian government.

The AMISP awards are now being awarded and there should shortly be a flow of awards form the AMISPs to the sub contractors...so a news rich period is on its way, and all being well, some will be in favour of CC.

However, even if CCs forecasts are correct there will also be awards to their competitors too, i am sure. GL Vas

News about some Interesting developments in three KSEB divisions came out earlier today involving smart meters and smart street lights.

It looks like the 26th Sept is the deadline for an appointment of a AMI for packages 1,2 3 and 4 of the Tangedco tenders.

I believe this is an overall tender for approx. 30 million smart meters so should be big news.

Tamil Nadu are saying it will start later this year, so hopefully the AMIs will not drag out their own awards to the subcontractors.

An award win rate of around 20% for these packages would more than double Cyan's future potential revenue over night.

if anyone is looking for a SP catalyst then this has to be a strong contender.

I was using the data from the Cyan report below . page 4.

CyanConnode along with Esyasoft MDM is supporting multiple AMISP’s (13 no’s), thereby forging a strong relationship. This will help us to maximize our offering in upcoming bids and play a dominant role in Indian RDSS led AMI bidding ".

There are two lists. Testing completed list with seven AMISPS followed by another list entitled "Tests Pending" , six AMISPS , including Techno Electric.

All the others on the pending list have, I think are now on the confirmed list as working with CC, so I assume Techno have also.

Also Techno is listed with all others on the right hand side as one of the AMISPS partnering with CC.

Significantly, both Cyan and Wireplass state they are going for the same market share - they are all competing for the same 250m meters in India- so why would for example I have just done a quick search ( so may have missed a few) through most of the well know company's known to be partnering with Cyan.

I'm amazed that there was not more discussion around the Indian TB market, the pilot with Amazon and Qure.AI, a Modi backed initiative to eradicate TB from India and possibly abroad. Massive market we were told. Now no update , even after pilots all completed.

It was presented to us as a major opportunity, backed and sanctioned by Modi and a clear need for instant diagnosis - why no mention or at least an update on the trials with Qure.ai and Amazon in the presentation.

Todays hot potato ( another massive opportunity, involving a government) is the recent UK Government talks.

Previous opportunities where Vets ( no mention) , TB ( no mention) and Carelocker ( suspended) ....i do understand that Bleepa is still awaiting approval in India - but call me old fashion, if the company tells me it a big opportunity then i expect to hear about how well the pilots performed and feedback form the pilots , at a investor presentation.

In India its now all on Bleepa ......Its hard to imagine that they have not had talks with potential customers this past nine months, so can hit the ground running with Bleepa.

They have just appointed someone to scope out potential possible opportunities on the ground in India, which to me does look a bit desperate......considering they where already involved and piloted a TB campaign with two major partners in India.

I'm still here, but disappointed that the CDCs in UK, Carelocker in India and the Indian TB opportunity are either suspended, or not worth mentioning in a one hour Investor presentation.

Now we have a new employee on the ground in India chasing opportunities, which will take time to develop - sounds a bit desperate after we had such brilliant opportunities only Xmas last year. GL Vas
