Well spotted LT.

That's now nine identified AMISPS out of a reported total of sixteen empanelled AMISPS, that Zeus reported that Cyan were working with in their 7th March report.

It should not be too long before we find out who the remaining seven ( as of March 23) Cyan / AMISP partners are, as they are all already empanelled and on the list, and chasing business.

There may also be others, not yet declared that are not yet empanelled also.

Thanks' also for your previous post about percentage of RF opportunity in India. i think i must have taken the historic "win rate of tenders from April 2022 to January 2023 was 38% ", thanks for pointing this out. Lets hope that continues. Cheers Vas.

I would love to find out someone's prediction of what percentage of the 250 m SM in India roll out could fall Cellular, and what percentage RF.

I guess this is on one hand this is due to its the AMISPs who will decide which solution for each contract / region won.

And each AMISP are unable to guarantee winning any specific tender / region, so any long term calculations will depend on any particular AMISP, firstly winning the tender, then selecting the right solution and quantity.

On the over hand Genus for example must be expecting a certain amount of RF units as they are making them in house along with the CC manufacturers.

I think I have read here CC predicted / or someone predicted unto 35% was it ?

How can they know this, with so many variables .

Don't get me wrong if CC get anywhere near these numbers i will be happy , just trying to work out how does anyone know what general numbers of RF solution units will be required over next few years.

Is there something I am missing regarding the projections, usually the case.

Well, I have no idea. If you believe what they have written about their opportunities, then maybe its a good idea to keep an eye out for them, just in case!

Here is an example

Here is a company ( I have no idea how they compete in terms of technology and security) who will obviously compete with CC, in the RF field and amazingly for a start up have similar partners !

I read elsewhere they recently raised $3 million from Unicorn India Ventures.

I have done some digging around to find other company's whom have conducted RF trials in India this past few years as any competitor will need to have at least demonstrated , if not trailed their technology to prove they can a) meet the SLA, b) work with a number of meter manufacturers at the same time.

I found a relative recent Indian start-up company called Probus, who demoed / trialled their rf solution approx. eight months ago . It seems that they have carried out successfully RF smart meter trials ( in a small way) in India with Power grid Corp.

"Power Grid Corporation Of India Limited (Powergrid) came up with one of the toughest test scenarios, not because of the SLAs but because of the scale. None of the demos in this industry have been conducted at this scale - 1000 meters demo set up.

My village could have been covered with this. :P

Probus Smart Things took the challenge and carried out demo with 3 meter manufacturers - 3 test set up, 1000*3. The line you quoted "can provide technology to all empanelled providers " sounds very positive and quite intriguing especially as we know CC offer a hybrid cellular and RF solution. This must expand the potential opportunity in India massively.

Historically its all been about RF mesh solution but with a cellar offering as well, and especially as CC can now provide any of their technology to all empanelled members then surely Cyan's chances of reaching the multiple tens of millions of meters targets have now shortened immensely, especially as we know how difficult it is to meet the SLAs consistently and over time.

You would expect some kind of re evaluation from the market when a company is targeting say 30 - 50 m units opportunity who then provides a solution that is potentially available to the entire 250 m unit opportunity in India and has managed to place itself as one of the suppliers who can supply all Amisps on the very important empanelment list and also demonstrate achieving the SLAs, backed up with years of local evidence .

So presently there are eight know company's on the list who are known to be working with CC. We also know that in total there are nineteen company's listed on empanelment list as offering an RF solution.

Zeus informed us in March 23 that Cyan where working with sixteen of the empanelled Amisps - leaving another eight to be disclosed to us, if they all provide the RF solution.

If this is correct, and none of the cellular Amisps on the list are counted in the sixteen partnering with CC then CC will be working with sixteen , out of nineteen company's who are tasked with supplying the RF solution across India.

That's approx. 80% coverage of whatever number of RF units India decide to employ.

The key sticking point here is am i correct in thinking that CC would not partner a pure Cellular provider on the empanelment list, surely if they where going to do this it would be with a AMISP who can provide BOTH cellular and RF.

No mention of RF in above link but one of EDFs subsidiaries Citelum India (Subsidiary of Citelum S.A.–France) has an employee called Vivek Mishra who, if you read what his latest job entails is Smart City, streetlights etc using (RF Technology).

It seems that EDF have signed up for the impalement list for cellular only , but are also working in India Smart Cities using RF in street lighting etc.

I imagine a company accepted with a cellular solution on list would not be able to use a RF solution if they where to win an award, otherwise what is the point of listing them separately. GL Vas

Another thing i do not quite understand is that BCITS is listed on the empanelment list , but Wirepas and Kimbal Technology ( was Crystal meters) are not on the list. Therefore,, how can Wirepas and Kimbal Technology be competition to Cyan in the RF solution field.

We Know Wirpas and BCITS are working together, but could BCITS select Wirepas as a sub contractor even though they are not on the empanelment list ! If not then Wirepas and Kimbal will need to get on the empanelment list first.
