Hi Tony. I'm sure it's not straight forward but the IOT space ( other than smart meters ) is what CC do, according to the company....I'm just trying to find out where CC stand for example in Mumbai, alongside Tata comms or Tata infra on the Tata IOT platform....all I see is Semtech. Would be nice if CC could inform us about what IOT sectors they are involved with other than meters and lighting...cheers Vas

Have a quick glance of Semtechs LoRa news releases in just the past three months....they are certainly onto something...I wonder if CC compete for any of these tenders etc ....it's like a "land grab, going on when you read about the amazing amount of opportunities that are out there.....and they not all to do with electricity meters.

Hi Tony. It's very confussing and needs someone to untangle the iot india Tata / Semtech partnreship. There's more at stake with iot connected devices than smart meetering in india alone if you believe what the forecasters say. Cyan share Omni technology claims "Supports the management of other network technologies (PLC, LoRa) through one platform". So IF CC can offer the same as Semtech !! then why did Tata communication choose Semtech ? Does Semtech offer anything different to what CC can offer? Tata Comms iot platform looks like a big deal in india . Just trying to find out if CC are ruled out already or not .....and for what reason ...is the new Omni platform a means of catch up.

Afternoon All. I'm wandering if CC is compatible with Tata Communications pan indian IOT platform which was originally started in Delhi and Mumbai and is being rolled our all over , from what I read. Tata is seems chose LoRa? As suggested I this interview. .. Thanks for info. This link has no connection to CC, although the technology behind it probably does.
It's quite amazing the uses that IOT can lend itself too, ....even in developing country's...this story for some reason caught my attention....maybe as pilot in Jammu.

Well we will have to wait and see what happens. I seem to recall that the J&K tender that I posted a few days ago is also a REC tender and as you say is fluid, at the moment ...so maybe another...unless I have missed something.

Thanks for your reply. I have read it properly this time and yes it's for Tata Delhi. As you know we were on the REC empanelment list a few years ago. It looks like REC are re visiting the panel again.
The Tata Delhi project was a ADR with AMI RF mesh project. This must have gone well as they wish to extend it.
I hope CC's chances of getting selected are not diminished or overtaken by the solution providers used in the original project.....I find it confusing about who ultimately will choose the successful empannelled company as Tata Delhi are presumably happy with the results of project and the company's originally involved...meanwhile its REC selecting the solution providers for their 20 million deal....which will cover Delhi....?

It's good to know CC already on the case as seen in the late 2017 Q&A session. I hope that this EOI, which will eventually become a list of just a few selected company's that would be used to fulfill this 20 million opportunity in Delhi and others at a later date....the fact that CC were not involved in the Tata / Delhi project originally ( but in the Mumbai Tata project ) should have no bearing on CC potential success.....as from reading the document it does sound like REC will refer the the empanelled company's for future orders across the Indian nation. Fingers crossed on this one...apologies if unclear but away from computer. Thanks again Vas
