It does look very much like the smets1 problem can be resolved without a home visit or exchange of meter.....software update to connect smats1 meter to national DCC rather than utility's DCC.

Regarding merging Smets1 into the DCC without having to upgrade / replace the meter.
This Document may help but from my limited understanding I think they can basically order ( remotely) each Smets1 meter to contact the DCC and when successful it is merged into the DCC and updated remotely .....anyway, have a read of this and let me know if any of it makes sense.....they have been working this out since the beginning of the year. I don't really understand. But can now see the money disappearing over the years...I notice that in May 18 Final results is said that intangible assets in

2017 were 5,468,967
Ând
2016 were 5,889,656
And
And In the May 17 Final Results were informed they had £7.8 million in 2015

What form do these intangible assets take...and why link it to the Toshiba contract? Thanks again.Vas

There is a paragraph in the results highlights that states "As a result of the acquisition of Connode, the Group now has intangible assets on the balance sheet of £7.8 million (2015: £nil) made up of a customer contract with Toshiba UK for the rollout of the Connode smart metering solution and goodwill."

I'm not sure in what form this £7.8 million is being described. But its intangible...so I guess it's money contracted but waiting for payment! I'm not sure. The money is made up of a customer contract with Toshiba ... To my knowledge this money had not appeared on the balance sheets yet....so am I correct in thinking that £7.8 million is contracted / will be paid to CC and land on the CC balance sheet once CC technology starts its inclusion in the SMet2 rollout in the UK expected later this year? If so, this would cover the majority of the £10 million revenue forecast for this year......if it begins this year. Anyone any thoughts about this?.....or am I misunderstanding what an intangible assert is.....whatever it is ..it's worth nearly £8 million. Thanks in advance . Vas

I seem to recall CC were involved with Reliance in Mumbai but anyone know about whether CC involved with Qualcomm / mediatek....looks like they have got there partner ecosystem in place , ready for the off.

Hi CB, that is true. The report I posted earlier has no mention of smart pre paid meters. To be honest I had read several reports earlier today, and later posted that one without realising there was no mention of the word smart. The one I meant to have posted was this one...which has smart pre paid meters all over it!

The government has approved a Tk 6.58 billion project to install 0.85 million pre-paid meters in Dhaka city.

The Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) will implement the project.

Presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday endorsed the project in Dhaka along with eight other projects at a total cost of Tk 30.88 billion.

The company has told us they expect a very good H2 result "The company has previously stated that H2 2018 revenue will be substantially larger than H1 2018 based partly on contracts already won and already in the delivery phase and partly on new orders expected for hardware to be delivered. Management still believes this will be the case."

So a shot at some external funding, in a CC target area, would not do us any harm.....
