The consortium was formed at the request of the UK Government to support the development and manufacturing scale-up of a COVID-19 lateral flow antibody test ("COVID-19 Rapid Test") to determine whether people have developed immunity after contracting the virus.

Its not difficult to imagine some kind of financial support from the government so to ensure capacity is maximised....im also in OO , where government are practically paying them to expand their capacity, by gifting them anew building to conduct their trials... We are part of a government created consortium, formed at their request.

FUNDING
One of the key questions in the mind of any investor right now is funding, how will Omega fund the development and manufacturing of these COVID-19 antibody tests? when asked, Colin King pointed out that the company is looking to fully utilise the various Government funding and bank support available to undertake the development and manufacturing of the COVID-19 antibody test.

The fund raise by the company earlier in the year was probably done as a matter of prudence, so to ensure they were financially covered. Just a guess really, but not beyond the realms of probability.....lot of money up for grabs .

"Omega recently informed us that it is currently working towards manufacturing capacity for rapid tests of 0.5 million per week. The company believes it could double this quite quickly with government support – particularly in terms of financial and logistical support."...maybe government funding to speed up capacity, something which if true, i find quite reassuring.

If these forecasts are accurate, and I cant see why not as the demand is obvious, then you would expect CK to not only increase production on existing sites but will have the cash to take on extra manufacturing capacity somewhere else...or maybe purchase a facility that is up and running.......

When asked whether any vaccines introduced would just reduce the symptoms of covid, and leave a person infectious or would any vaccine eradicate the infection in any individual . He said that at present we do not know the answer to this - but hopefully the person would not be infected anymore - but said that maybe only around 50% of the infection would be eradicate along with a reduction in symptoms, ( a bit like flu, really, i guess).
If this turns out to pass then many people will remain infectious, after vaccine when they have reduced symptoms.....bad news for us ALL, but good news for those company's that make vaccines and testing kits , i guess.

Barwickman. this share is going nowhere with out new investors going forward, so allow some grace for either newbys asking what seems obvious questions or other investors like Peter whom is asking for feedback on his own calculations. Try it, sometime.

Putting aside the storage and transportation issue, and the competition etc etc . These guys think that even ten years on,

Why? The Virus has to be removed, and vaccine's will not remove it, so as it continues to live amongst us then we will have to have our annual vaccine.

if you read this also it seems that India are not even bothering to trial the Pfizer vaccine, so the AZ vaccine first choice.

I would really like to know more about the " stickyness" of the antibody tests that OXD and others will be producing for AZ Vaccine. Will each country that accepts the vaccine from AZ be committed to the same OXD and partners test, or are their alternatives? sorry to bang on about this but its highly significant and something i was actual unaware of until recently.

Its a wonder the share price did not rise more substantially on Friday afternoon...there was plenty of time. At a guess , i imagine that after such a bed previous four days, a late Friday afternoon tweet, suggesting a game change was to much for many, whom have waited for some kind of confirmation and many did not have picked up the significance of the relationship between Oxford vaccine and the ABC antibody test...

I guess, if ODX needed to increase output even further than the 2.5 million they could rent and refit / or buy a suitable business to add even further value to these contracts....this could even take place in Uk, or abroad in India for example if there was evidence of large future revenues.....

So is it your understanding that the only antibody test that can be used for the AstraZeneca Oxford COVID-19 vaccine is the one produced by the ODX consortium. If so, with 3 billion doses already pre ordered....Do we have any other evidence to support that ODX consortium is the only supplier of antibody tests to Astra / Oxford vaccine?

If the antibody tests cost more than the vaccines then the ODX consortium will make more money than the Astra Zeneca?? How does that work. Cheers guys Vas

Can anyone explain to me what significance if any, does a positive rollout of the AstraZeneca Oxford COVID-19 vaccine have on the future of ODX fortunes.....i seem to have read here that the tests that ODX can produce somehow fit hand in glove with the Oxford vaccine ? Anyone explain please, and if you have some reports etc even better.
I'm asking this because i'm sure there are many here who do not know about this, and also this vaccine is very close to being released....

We are constantly told that ODX will sell everything they manufacture, and i do not doubt that.....but i think this weeks events have put uncertainty into many peoples mind about the "stickyness" and " certainty" behind the expected numbers that we have all read about and talked about for so long..........plus the uncertainty of the Abbey deal, the legal challenge, etc etc ...just add a further layer of uncertainty and room for change.

What was your understanding of this announcement taken from the RNS a few weeks ago dated 6th October 20 entitled
UK Government contract for UK-Rapid Test Consortium Successful independent evaluation from PHE for COVID-19 lateral flow antibody test
" The test is currently CE-Marked for professional use and can be administered by healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and healthcare workers, at the point of-care. The UK-RTC are seeking approval from the MHRA for self-test use"
I understood this that Omega and the UK - RTC were both hoping to get "self test" status, in fact there was much talk on the BB.

Over the years I've learned that people choose their words very careful, and you need to read what was written and not written.

Apparently they didn't note the British Medical Journal report. It allows them to disagree with the conclusions in the media, which anyone is entitled to do. A lot harder to disagree with a BMJ report.
