Great. What does it mean to wsg specifically?

Can I check- if insurance is the main sticking point why are we discussing the SPV I can imagine why insurance has to be watertight and the consequences of this going wrong Insurance would have to be with a big company with USA exposure- is that right? How will they work around this? I can see why it is taking a long time and I hope PF is good at the necessary detail. How long have they been working on this aspect? What are the milestones on this that PF can be quizzed about?

It’s a very big partnering conference with chance for multiple pre arranged 1:1 meetings- also given that they attended the euro biospring in Amsterdam in March 18- some of these could be follow up meetings. The larger their data package the more ‘compelling’ the product- and medi’s collaboration will make a big difference. They have more experience in modelling and extrapolating preclinical results to late stage human results than anyone else in the dna vaccine field It’s unclear how advanced the discussions with other potential collaborators is, but positive that there may be more than one.

The collaboration agreement with medimmune should focus minds. The figures mentioned from recent collaborations involved tens to hundreds of millions in upfront and royalty payments. This is earlier stage than those collaborations And income will depend on milestones being passed. Any thoughts on amounts? In addition one successful collaboration with an industry leader will encourage more

Thanks John. The 4dmt was probably not mentioned because it was for an undisclosed amount. 4DMT are a big company Medimmune are also the first company to put silica nanoparticles into human trials (phase 1). FDA agreement feb 18

Bear in mind AZ were not included in the analysis though were mentioned in the drug delivery section, re investment in rani therapeutics

AZ did a deal with 4D Molecular Therapeutics in July 18 for a viral vector (AAV) for delivering gene therapy.
Clearly they are also interested in non viral vectors

The implications of testing nuvec with HPV DNA were not widely publicised given the associated commercial sensitivities that AZ/inovio are currently testing this pDNA with electroporation in the only current phase 3 trials (REVEAL)

Btw if there is positive results in large animals and manufacture, I presume we will be taken over. What dyou think?

Charity you have a well known share philosophy which must serve you well. But there other share philosophies. Regarding forthcoming news think about how N4p will milk this. By end of this month I expect we will have another video presentation by Nigel to explain the meaning of all this. We now have (likely) positive news fronts from medimmune, UoA and Eu ncl. The next innovate uk grant funding is in Dec 18. Every time they go to a conference in the next 6 months they will tell us how discussions with potential collaborators are progressing. The next big challenges are whether they can manufacture this at scale and whether it works in large animals. It could easily not be positive enough here especially for dna vaccines. I am also worried about competitors . SNPs are much easier to produce than liposomes which is a good and bad thing. We now have a big friend to protect us now though This is all in my opinion and I am not a good advert as an N4p investor. I also wish to declare I am a ramper and I do not want to encourage others to get into my position without having there eyes open

Do your research and if you think on balance it will be a success, do so early- voxpops man said this. I am learning this lesson. Of course it could all fail but not any time yet

Nuvec is tunable wrt particle size, pore size, charge and surface functionalisation (eg with PEI). See nuvec patent (on google patents, chengzong Yu). It means they can use it to deliver different size molecules ie dna, rna, peptide.
Hence different products, and different commercial agreements

I agree with other posts that this is still early stage- but then you pay a different price for late stage. This is showing potential for Medimmune to wish to continue to collaborate. |They could have gone to GE to make SNPs but they would not have the associated experimental data and patent

We will have to await the terms of the collaboration agreement. Personally i would work with medi on optimising nuvec for nothing

The £63k Innovate UK grant was that agreed last Dec 17 to conduct the 9 month project with Medimmune

The results were positive in all of the pre-specified outcomes

However, we now know that they were positive enough to warrant ongoing product development with Medimmune .
N4P are doing their own characterisation of the product inc manaufacturing at industrial scale- medi could have done it for them but then medi would have owned the results

This allows n4p to make multiple deals. There are many partners out there, who will take notice of a collaboration of a very small company with an industry giant

Wow. This is the key news we have waited 9 months for. In my view Medimmune cannot make a big deal until nuvec is more developed ie exact clarification and planned use as a delivery system worked out We are now in ongoing collaboration with one of the worlds largest Pharma Have I read this right this time?

It does mention on the preclinical toolbox tab, in the bottom paragraph:
'If the collaboration generates positive findings, AstraZeneca has option to negotiate a license to advance further towards patient benefit and commercialisation'
