RE: Future deal limitations?.. Or business as usual?26 Oct 2020 12:23
Fair question do8erman,
It's guesswork re this as we all won't know the actual answer. My take is that Kroger will have done due diligence on Ocado before forming their relationship and buying a 5% stake in Ocado. Aeon, Casino, Sobeys all will have looked over every detail of Ocado before becoming a partner to Ocado's online solutions.
There have been legal wrangles in the past with Ocado and autostore so the companies above would have looked at that. Ocado see no merit in the legal case against them. My view is that they will still be looking for new partners as before. Potential new partners will perform due diligence on Ocado as those have done before. New partners haven't come forth since the latest round of financing. I think this is mostly due to the huge ramping up of existing Ocado solutions partners operations which must be very demanding on Ocado. Thus far all seems to be going to plan on all the CFC developments being carried out around the globe - Japan, Canada, USA, Australia, France.
I believe the legal case risk to be fully priced in to Ocado's share price now.
