I see that you are only 7.7% down now at 24/ 25.
As i mentioned on a couple of occasions , i think these II`s and `SOPHS` have probably already traded the hell out of this as witnessed by the 150m volume spike on 21st , with an associated c. 10% fall in the sp .
Perhaps they`ve woken up to the possibility that the price will increase prior to spud , and will offload any remaining balance a bit further down the line . I can`t say that over the years these sort of people have impressed me as the sharpest tools in the box , often just as another tool in a bigger box ( ie ; they have the ability to manage events with the support of significantly greater funds than ordinary disadvantaged private investors .)
From what I can see about your trading today , things don`t look too bad . Let`s just hope that any price reduction is very short lived .

Wozzy ~~~ While resisting the the sort of colourful criticism that you have sometimes levied at DW I`m afraid that as the years have passed I have become less and less enthusiastic about DW`s leadership .
At this point in time I feel we just have to suck it up and hope that everything works out well for investors in the end .
I really hope that events do not transpire to force me from my quiet corner in the back of the room , because I have plenty to say !

To the best of my knowledge we have never had any serious Institutional base here .
I believe that arbitrage has already been effected . Hartleys will / have dumped as usual and within a week (perhaps less) we will advance toward spud .
Assuming DW is smart about the detail he releases as we drill through the seven various zones , PI`s , who are well aware that the real Target is at TD , are more likely to wait for confirmation of the full result in April .
All this has been an unfortunate distraction from the real objectives , and , regrettably DW in his usual less than exciting terminology has omitted to focus on any of the enthusiasm he generated at recent investor meetings .

Who / where are the Institutional investors here ?
ONE - of my criticisms of DW is his all too comfortable , unimaginative , repetitive relationship with Hartleys ,
and his `Sophisticated (LOL!) Investors`.
We know they will dump .

What should have happened ~
A clear unequivocal statement from the Company explaining the precise reason for the raise , who is involved , and how cash and share issue would affect shareholders .
If the headroom was available I see no reason why any potential investor could not have been accommodated at a price relative to the recent market averages .
~~~ But ~ that`s just my opinion and i have to recognise that we exist in an imperfect world of self interest .

Very true uncledazza , but ; this behaviour has become ; transparent , duplicitous and disingenuous .
People may believe that the end will justify the means , but there are always consequences .
Reading this BB and gaining some insight into regular contributors , you can see already that investors who have been here for many years have begun to modify their opinions , their objectives and their expectations .
I don`t know how you reconcile the issues that face immature Companies developing on the AIM market . I am just certain that as a consequences of conflicting interests very few ever reach their full potential , and most , simply succumb to overwhelming financial pressures no matter how those are created or managed .
I still believe that 88 will be a success story . The original concept of `prove , and sell up` will , I hope , still provide investors with a significant financial gain , but I imagine that most are by now much more acutely aware of the risks associated with this particular type of Company .
Good luck , oil exploration is undoubtedly a demanding business . Let`s hope there is absolute clarity about this latest CR in the next couple of days , and that as a consequence we can resume an improving share price trend as we move toward the commencement of drilling Charlie 1.

I agree with that , which , at least for the moment makes this Email very strange .

Desmond : The last offer to shareholders was hardly a resounding success .
I imagine they judged , probably correctly , that shareholders were just about maxed out and certainly CR weary .

If that Email were correct , there would surely have been many other less value and sentiment destructive methods to accommodate the requirement for Equity and Cash injection .
Even the wording of the RNS could have been dramatically improved .
However , as we all know , DW is hardly the most encouraging of CEO`s when it comes to writing notes to shareholders .
In addition to shareholders funds , reputations on the line .
The truth (I think!) will out soon , but in a couple of weeks , I would hope that we would be much further north of this really disappointing share price .
