Mills ~~~ Your ignorance of The USA is clearly on a par with the ignorance of probably 85% of Americans knowledge of the world outside Fortress America .
SEA7 ~~~ Your second paragraph is almost 100% correct ! Except ; that the the privileged believe they have been dealt a hand of Five Aces ; the poor , disadvantaged , and so many in minority or racially divided communities KNOW they have been dealt a hand of Jokers !
NIC ~~ Your comment re British politicians is SO right .
Mind you , if you go back , let`s just say to the turn of the 20th Century, just about every British Political leader has had his /her hand in some grubby or destructive conflict . B Liar , immeasurably the worst .
America , since the American / Spanish war in 1898 , has either instigated or been a major participant in every world conflict , and involved in many other more localised wars , not to mention their political , industrial and financial interference across the globe !
They ARE ; a very divided Nation of extremes . Unbelievable wealth for the 1% ish has come as a consequence of exploitation , and the millions available for exploitation .
I`m no `Socialist` , BUT , there is something seriously amiss with the current `Capitalist` perspective which to me seems to have morphed into some variant of `Nova Communism` .
`Land Of The Free `over here ~~~ LoL !
! ! ! Sorry about that I pressed the wrong key !
Incidentally ~~~ It seems to me that the future for FI looks somewhat bleak , and not just because of COVID .
You may find this of interest in the context of the HRZ , the challenges of drilling in Alaska , and the immediate availability of conventional in a world of dramatically reduced demand :
~ Hope you are all ok ~ GL .
SEA7 : That is such an interesting issue .
A lot will ride on the outcome in November . If that goof Trump gets back in ( and it is possible ~ surprisingly ~ imo ) then change is likely to be muted for the next four years . If the Dems win the Presidency big changes are likely , if the Dems win back the Senate there again I think that will likely impact the fracking industry which would appear to have at least reached its zenith , there`s huge resistance from some quarters . I just can`t see volume demand for oil reaching anything like previous highs any time soon , worse still , if this wretched virus takes off again , it is going to be very difficult to make predictions with any great sense of accuracy .
GAS is the way forward , at least into the medium term . imo .
Fwiw ~ I also feel we must be getting close to some positive news flow .
H / Thordon : Thanks . I have no idea as to the extent this business requires expertise or in which areas . I could take a guess and I certainly have a view about where expertise and professionalism might be improved !
As I think I mentioned in some recent post , we might be better served at some time into the future if JF and/or AF used their not insignificant (and growing ?) financial interest to demand a seat on the Board . Should that Happen perhaps we would see a rebalancing in numbers , but more importantly a greater input of knowledge , expertise and professionalism .
On the other hand , major change can be disruptive . All depends on their plans and motives .t
We need some definitive news flow , which I hope will soon be forthcoming : 3d / pipework / plant instal and connect / PAT E1 / cash burn / funds and forward plans ~~~ etc ~~~etc !
In the current climate , I`m not too bothered about `Oil` here , I think this is all about GAS , lots of it !
Oil would be a nice bonus .
Anyway , your points about employees are well made .
I remain positive and hope that we will see a much improved sp by the year end .
Best of luck !
Hi Thordon ; ` 34p ?
I`m hoping that we will be past that milestone by the end of June ;)
Have you got a feel for the end of year ?
Clearly there is some serious momentum here , let`s hope it continues as further news is released and interests are declared .
Re Sunday 10.54 .
Hi In-Long : ~~~ Absolutely no offense taken , I never hold grudges ! Life is far too short ; shares , money and anger are not priorities for me .
There are far too many stupid arguments on these BB`s instead of valued dignified commentary and information . Disruption and argument is usually instigated by traders and spivs , constructed to obfuscate , with the objective of influencing the direction of their trades . In the main these people are easy to spot and best to ignore ~ imo .
Re Brokers : I have always used a broker . Yes , there are additional costs and no doubt unacceptable for some , but I believe any issues are far outweighed by the many benefits . I have been with the same Broker for well over twenty years , I know him both personally and professionally , he is always available and if unable to answer my call always phones me back asap .
At present I am five thousand miles away and five hours behind London , I travel a lot and In my case I need someone I trust to manage my interests should urgent issues arise . Having said that I fully accept that technology has changed the way we invest and I also have an on-line account which I can manage at a distance .
Re TLY : ~~~ Very encouraging this week ! Whoever said 25p by Friday was probably right , just the wrong Friday !
This Friday ? Looks nailed on , but you never know .
I`m still buying , with a target far in excess of 25p but I`m looking toward the year end .
Anyway , best of luck to you , I`m sure our confidence will be reward ~ as that Goof Trump would say ~ BIGGLY !!
Hi Stt1 :
Re Sunday 20.04 :
~ " I'm surprised your broker recommended TLY as a Covid related share. " ~
I`m surprised that you`re surprised !
The NHS was likely to be overwhelmed by any mass epidemic , de facto TLY would inevitably be a likely beneficiary .
It seems he was ahead of the curve .
Hi Thordon ~ 20.57 ; I agree ~ Words are crucially important , which is why all investors need to read very carefully messaging both written and spoken from Company Directors empowered to manage our investment choices .
I asked my Broker for some COVID related recommendations ; he came up with six . I chose three . TLY was in part a favoured pick because I have strong historical connections with Newcastle . Pure emotion , pure luck ! The other two choices were PYC and IMM . I`m reasonably confident that all three will prove to be 2020 success stories ~ so far so good . However , bitter experience has taught me : `NEVER fall in love with a share ` . I love my babies , they are now grown men !
As mentioned , performance and funds permitting , i plan to increase my stake in all three .
Best of luck .
Stt1 ~ Hi : I am aware of the BoD options and in the main agree with what you say ie : Board members `Should` be persuaded to work to ensure that they earn those gifted shares . The Company and ordinary shareholders benefiting from the efforts and commitment of the Directors . It`s great in theory , regrettably so often it is seriously abused . Often timing negates purchases , but I also like Directors to demonstrate support and commitment through the personal purchase of shares in the market .
In no way am I suggesting that options in TLY have or will be anything other than a genuine incentive for Directors , 27p will be a secure stepping stone for greater achievement for all of us who have an interest here . I feel confident we will pass that milestone long before this year is out .
Btw ~ I thought Mr Holt`s interview particularly encouraging and through his City contacts I am sure there will be future constructive changes to the shareholder register into the future .
I have just listened to the DW interview and would say that I was not particularly impressed , but there are certainly `Unknowns ` that should be revealed in the coming weeks and may provide a more convincing argument for investment (or reinvestment.)
Perhaps if I had used the ID : ~ V111 V111 it would have brought me a little more luck :(
Anyway best of luck to all of you who remain invested , your continued commitment deserves reward , unfortunately that`s not how the world works .
Regards V111 .
Hi SEA7 : Great posts , some valued research and information . Thanks !
As far as I`m concerned it IS all about GAS .
Anyone who has been to this region during the winter months will know first hand just how crucial the availability and continuity of gas is to industrial and social stability .
FRIDAY 21.34 : "do you want some recognition as a minion investor. "~
mmm ~~~ I will avoid the temptation of being rude to you as you were to me .
However , you are no doubt aware that c. :
57.15 % of this Company is owned by Institutions and Professional Investors .
5.23 % is owned by Directors .
.05 % owned by Wendy Lawrence ~ ie : 93,609 shares .
As I own a few more shares than that , would that define her a " minion investor. " ?
Encouraging , confident , positive interview .
Being `Picky ` again , I know there are few people employed here but I would have preferred Ms Laurence not to continually refer to the business as `My Company` , although at the end of the interview she did say once `Our Company` .
I might increase my stake here next week .
End of year expectations ~~~ considerably ahead of today`s price .
Well, I have to say i`m just a little disappointed with the sp this morning . I would have thought we would be pushing on toward 25p . Why are we flat lining ?
So many possibilities :
The usual `Sell the news brigade `. After all we have made some great progress over recent weeks .
Is the corrupt AIM market in full overdrive ?
Did the recent investors get `the nod` in advance of that stake disclosure a couple of days ago ?
Are there other major investors being accommodated before the impact of the news takes effect ?
Is it just the general market malaise today this particular Company ? ~~~ etc
Bottom line ~ this is a short term disappointment , at least for me !
I remain confident and curious as to where we may be toward the end of the year :)
One very little `Picky Point` ; if I were writing that RNS , i would not have said :
"~~~ We are delighted to announce this range of contract extensions ~~~ "
I think in the current climate `delighted` is inappropriate . Perhaps :
`~~~We are pleased to announce this range of contract extensions ~~~ `
BUT ~ I thought the content and direction was massively positive , it`s just a question of patience , which seems to be lacking for some today .
Very best of luck all , especially to the regulars on here .
