double bottom building on the daily chart. a break of 2550p will target a move the length of the double bottom, so around 2850p. may happen quickly if breaks above the 2550p and is in while while the price stays above 2550p

as i say look at the worst case, the writedown, the mkt cap. it doesnt mean much. the case isnt new but its being circulated by hedge funds that have started to sell. the hedge funds recently liquidated to the tune of hundreds of billions due to gamestop and its effect on the market and now they have fresh money they need to put to work. however i pointed out on another thread that buffett bid 4050p for unilever back in 2017. the shares at present levels look like good value.

roughly present price about 40 quid. buffett bid an 18% premium to the share price at the time 143 billion us or 4050p per share.

sorry i should put into context for a bad outcome. j&j set aside 2 billion dollars for the cancer/asbestos/baby talc when it failed to overturn appeal.

this was filed late last year so its not new news but maybe wasnt in the news. it is being fed around in the past few hours as part of a short selling campaign. losing the case would mean write offs but its not clear that the case is lost as the ingredient in question is used less than or no higher than recommended levels.

q1 lockdown effect sales/costs which cannot be helped. rest is/will be ok. ecommerce sales going through the roof. heading in right direction.

after the split, one of the companies will be taken over by a US pharma. they will not be interested in doing the dirty work themselves so they will leave glaxo to it for now. so buying here may well lead to rewards of the capital nature as well as income over a 12 month timeframe.

this isnt a short etrm play. over next couple of years the under investment in oil will make itself felt. crude is already at a high for the year but this is more down to expectation of reopening after lockdown. what will clip supply is under investment across the board including shale. all oil businesses are struggling to get funding as banks are under pressure from shareholders to not fund fossil fuel enterprises. clearly the way forward is green, but oil will still be required and there is likely to be an undershoot in supply resulting in an overshoot in prices. one can conclude that while sentiment is against oil, when these factors above come into play, the shares of the main players will be favoured once more. its not a one way bet, one needs just to look at tobacco. but risk reward feels good at these levels 200-300 for a move to 400-500 within a couple of years.

high premium for these but thats because you have to pay for top line growth. business is doing great guns esp north america, may be a takeover target in the future. despite the gains i think you hold onto these for a while yet, the story is far from done.

superdry got killed by becoming popular amongst middle aged dads with beards, of not the right kind, and glasses. and the prices. boohoo caters to the lowest income bracket and its marketing model keeps the focus on youth and celebrity. they do this very well.

no it wont but its a reason to take profits. the tax will add a 2 or 3 pence on every pound of goods sold. but most lockdown is now getting it in the neck, folks are taking profits while the boohoo specifics of being post results isnt helping either.

results out of way, a move out of lockdown shares today as well as more talk of online taxes...the sentiment is against it. besides holding on to this one there is always the risk of another sweatshop hit. so folks buy in advance and sell on the news. if there was no such risk the shares would be at 5 quid. but it isnt because there are risks. 250-300 remains a good point to pick up 350-400 to tp.

a slow burner for 2021 is morgan sindall in the ft250. will benefit from the infrastructure spend the government is going to do as we move out from 2021 and carries a good yield at the same time. if you think h2 2021 gets better, then this is one. ascential and 4imprint and also others to consider here. none will double overnight, these are plays on a return to business, but all 3 should be doing much better by year end.

short term channel from oct lows last year has been broken today, we will see if this break holds on a closing basis. close by important sup in 309-315 zone. a failure to hold that can see shares move towards long term channel sup by 250p

lockdown shares are taking it up th a$$ today in general. results wise AO is showing it is better to travel than arrive but did throw a slight warning re rising costs. online sales tax is going to happen sooner or later but not not. still, any talk of it is obviously going to knock online sellers short term

probably they are thinking like for like sales might be as good as it gets this year, as next year will be hard to beat. but retaining two thirds suggests its profit taking. unless they place more in the spring or summer, then they are still believers in the story. i think the company still has room to grow, but its clear there is a high bar set for next year due to covid on a like for like basis.

this is very true. forward sales are much stronger, the only issue is covid and being able to complete because of it. the sahres should make a low by the end of this week or when lockdown restrictions are announced.
