I started this 'optimistic' thread, so I'll just say my gut was right that there'd be more buys than sells (actually way more) but I was completely wrong that that would translate into the sort of price rise one would expect from basic rules of economics and supply and demand. Baffling. Does anyone follow what happens in France? Is the volume much greater there? And are surrender monkeys over there still selling off heavily?

I accept volume isn't all that today, but it's strange the price keeps falling in the face of strong buying.

I'm feeling strangely optimistic so I'm going to predict a blue day today. And also that we'll finish October higher than we are now - hopefully much higher.

You're wrong Soder. I worked in the civil service for a long time. The Govt routinely get sued by their suppliers for non payment, usually because of incompetent civil servants not being able to operate old, rickety, payment software correctly. If you think it might damage a civil servant's career prospects, and hence they might give a toss about this sort of thing, I'm sorry to have to tell you you're very wrong.

And they obviously don't need to do a raise to access cash. They've got shedloads, and no borrowings.

If they do 'the' discounted raise? Surely if they do 'a' discounted raise - you are implying that its certain. And it's far from that. Any Board doing a raise down here risks a shareholder revolt and getting kicked out of their jobs. But to be sure, vote against the resolution empowering them to do a raise without seeking further shareholder approval - if there actually was such a resolution.

You've got to laugh. This current, and really not significant, mess up for NCYT has been inflicted on them by their shareholders, some of whom then throw up their hands in despair and sell out, presumably at a nasty loss. AGM postponement is entirely the fault of shareholders, not the Board.

Anyway, new low for the year printed, and I've averaged down again.

I think the market is getting all excited about companies with exposure to oil and gas prices. Any good news will spark a massive rerate here as the herd pile in.

Bit worried about stockinvestor. Hope they're alright. Nothing since Wednesday, and they usually manage a good 50 posts a day. I blame the declining share price on stock's failure to keep up the ramping.

My son tested positive for Covid yesterday after a PCR test on Monday. It's running rampant through his school. So my wife and I went to have PCR tests today. Stupidly I didn't check to see if I could see a manufacturer's mark. I can only plead that I was concentrating on not chundering. Anyway, the PCR test centre my son went to on Monday was fully booked today, so the NHS must be getting through them.

My portfolio is very overweight on NCYT, and I'm nastily underwater, so it gives me no joy to agree with ValJu that sub 3 is now looking distinctly likely. It's such a temptation to sell out of rising shares to average down here. That's usually a rookie error, but I think NCYT's business, and proven ability to respond very quickly to changing circumstances and monetise it, does put this company head snd shoulders above the usual AIM rainbow chasing dross.

I know some people in Government. Ministers want to press ahead with LFTs and are ignoring exactly this, that it is so easy to cheat the system. Just get an LFT, scan the barcode, and register a negative result without even using it. There is a very strong chance that PCR tests will make a comeback pretty quickly, especially for flights in and out.

Knocked off the market cap because of the application of prudent accounting policies, and after bitter complaints that the Company don't tell us what they're up to. Gotta laugh.

Johnny and Soder. This is being done now because the interim results are going to be published on 27 Sept. Snd this is all about the accounting treatments that will be used. NCYT don't know how the dispute will pan out, so accounting policy for provisions requires them to take the most pessimistic view. To be honest this is good, and worlds away from the usual weaselly bullsheet you get from rampy AIM companies.
