Last year they announced $1.25 total divi, paid out roughly quarterly (ok the last one got paid out early Jan this year). That's 95p. Assuming they keep paying out at just that, you can get a 95p annuity for 69p. I've got a shedload in my investment isa now. If this pans out I'll never have to work again.

The share price just needs to bag from here, even after this great morning, just to get back to the price it opened at on Monday of this week. Incredible, what an opportunity.

Its says they are ex Div on 10th in my trading account, so buy no later than Weds 9th to make sure you get it. Still an insane yield just on this payment alone, and they make at least two divi payments a year - four last year.

Yes. Evraz is a conglomerate. It had decided to split the business up, or demerger in the jargon, to split the coal business from the rest of it. The demerge date was 14 Feb, and shareholders on that date were going to get shares in the new spin off business. The share price dropped to reflect that this part of the business was being divested. This is not now proceeding, so shareholders on 14 Feb won't get anything, as they still own it all within the EVR shares, as they did before 14 Feb. Anyone who has bought after 14 Feb has basically been given an extra business on top of what they had.

Quite canny actually. Underpins the dividend, and adds value to the shares to try and reverse the rout. Although really it will take the war ending to properly reverse that.

That's right Calamari, Abramovich is selling down his near half billion shares holding by dripping them into the market a few tens of thousands at a time. Maybe sitting in his bedroom in his parents house like a teen trader. It'll only take him around 50 years. Or...he's negotiating with a few seriously rich people or companies to take his entire holding in one go. As such very large trades are usually done.

The Board has voted to pay the dividend, and informed the market. The Company has the cash ready to distribute. I can only imagine the Chinese are ripping the arris out of Abramovich in terms of what they're willing to pay for his stake. Probably 50p ex div.

The Evraz board have voted to pay a dividend, and have released this market sensitive news in an RNS. If they decide to renege on that (and they don't have much time), they'll have to issue an RNS saying that. As they have not done this, every poster asserting that the dividend will not be paid is just talking ****e.

BTW if the share price is because Abramovich is negotiating a fire sale of his entire stake, it won't necessarily be a bad thing for him to be out of Evraz.

I tend to take the view that the market knows more than us retail punters. The business is clearly not going bust, and the dividend still stands as declared. So this is pure speculation, but the price action suggests a monumental stock dump. There are also reports in the press that Abramovich is trying to liquidate as many of his assets as he can, in case he gets sanctioned. So, possibly, this is that. In which case, his Evraz shares are going well below their NPV - as they were when he first acquired them, although not at such a deep discount as he got. He's getting on - a few billion will see him through his retirement. In the meantime an opportunity for us to replicate his original fortune building, albiet on a much more modest scale.

Rachel2. Go and check real time commodity prices. Green across the board until you get down to coffee and cocoa. Evraz is a commodities outfit which reported strong profits in the last quarter. They are even more profitable now.

For poor Roman. With almost 418million EVR shares he's down well over a billion quid in the last 3 weeks. Gotta imagine it'll make his next catch up with Vkad a bit awks.

Record date for dividend is 11 March, digital. Current yield over 85%. Truly remarkable.
