The first part of what I suggested has come to pass, i.e. a formal bid before any counter offer. The shares are worth more than 5.90, but that is now wholly dependent on a counter offer, which is wholly outside PI's control. We know the shares are worth more than 5.90 because the consortium would never have put in their highest price to start with, they want as large a discount to actual value as reasonably possible. It is only a question of which organisation if any is prepared to buy with a smaller discount to actual value of the business. I agree with all others that any counter bid is likely to be after the results next week and I was quite surprised to see a firm bid before the results.

Lets hope WH is correct. I am more cautious and would not expect to see a counter offer until there is an actual bid on the table. The initial counter offer should be 700+. I don't think the CVC consortium is a fabrication. I am more surprised by the Old Mutual purported acceptance. Why would you do it, unless there is some sort of side deal. Any investor wants to get the best price reasonably obtainable, not accept the first possible offer especially when it was not much in excess of the prior days share price. Think about it.

Well, at last Wolfhound is correct!, the bid is too low. It is irrelevant that it is a 34% premium to the average over the last six months. It is barely 10% above yesterdays price.The business continues o grow strongly. Yes a sale of the asian business may be a good idea, but any main stream bidder can divest itself of the bits it doesn't want anyway. The price ought to be in excess of £7 a share. This should accelerate a counter offer. The funds are looking to get Paysafe on the cheap!

As at close of business today, over 12 and 24 months the share price for Worldpay and Paysafe have increased by the same percentage. i.e. it has taken a bid for Worldpay to put it on the same level as Paysafe. If Paysafe had a p/e the same as the level achieved by the bid for Worldpay, the share price would be over £10. Now there's a thought. Incidentally the market was anticipating a higher bid for Worldpay and therefore a p/e in excess of 30.

What's happened to Wolfhound and Technie, I always enjoyed your posts. Not bailed out I hope. You will probably not remember but I posted several months ago that with patience this share would get to £6 within 12 months. Well we are well on the way there without any m&a announcement. Indeed £7 is not now out of the question within the next 12 months with a bit of patience and without a major worldwide pullback. As always DYOR

Thanks Phoenix, I too have been in here a long time without ducking in and out as that is not my style. It's always fun to speculate which is why we do it, although I agree its anyone's guess. Wolfhound may be right about M &A, you may be right about the introduction of dividends. Another potential is a Nasdaq listing. All we know for sure is that the current PE is far too low for the nature of the beast and is unwarranted unless the business is facing a significant slowdown, which I don't believe and nor for that matter does the CEO.

The p/e for Pays is extremely low and as I indicated yesterday I believe Pays is due for a reevaluation. Pays has actually performed pretty poorly over the last 12 months, barely rising at all up only 4% and placed 233/350. Over 6 months even worse 271/350. Considering the growth in profitability of the company this is ridiculously low as is the pe ratio. Clearly Pays had had a good run in the first 8 months of last year with Skrill et al, but now is the time to play catch up again and I believe it is happening hence why I indicated the 600p may come sooner than we think, but as always dyor.

Just a general comment on brokers views. If you pick virtually any company and look at target sp at 12 months ago, today's prices rarely bear any resemblance and are often miles out. Brokers like the rest of us, have a useless crystal ball and any target price merely reflects what the current view of the relevant company is. Brokers tend in reality to think short term and hence underestimate where great companies will be in the future and likewise are doomongers with regard to companies, which are suffering a temporary blip. I find they rarely properly analyse the markets that the relevant companies are in. Pays will continue to do well, but there may well be blips along the way. When the sp hits 600p I don't know, but it will and not that far down the line, quite possibly well within 12 months.

Patience. Fundamentally this is a great company, doing all the right things. The recent slide is due both to the general market trend and the lack of material news since the half year report in August. The trading update in investors minds did not count as news, because it "only" did what it said on the packet, i.e. there was no further increase in earnings forecast. Hence the decline with a number of investors cashing in profits, due to lack of further progressive positive news. It will actually take very little to send it up off the scale. In themeantime there may be further drift. Patience is a virtue. DYOR

What can we reasonably read into this?

In relation to the stamp duty my initial thought was that it was a mistake and they had failed to pick up the change from Aim to FTSE250, but I think they are correct and that there is no stamp duty because it is an Isle of Man co, not an English/Scottish co. DYOR. UJ
