Spike up late in day indicates someone knows something about tomorrow's results.

Quiz announced results today. Sp hit all time lows around 24p from IPO in 2017 of 161p. Too much discounting and their retail shops and stands cost too much. Quiz group online revenue up 34% in 6 wks to Jan 5th. Quiz seems to me a Screaming Buy at 24p but I'd like to see evidence of better results (and closing their stores) before I buy them.

Quiz's online figures look promising for BOO who don't have retail rents and store employees to worry about.

Done some in depth research. Thoroughly undervalued. Cutting debt rapidly. Sales, profit, earning, divvies all up. Defensive in turbulent times. 816p no problem sometime this year. Chunky 6% pa divvies. No brainer.

Anyone know date when we get some results from Boohoo? I'm looking for 20%+ growth.

Sell now. The current 3p on offer is 300% more than the 1p it will be next week.

Hmm. Doesn't augur well for the company if the checkouts weren't busy just before Christmas. We did our Christmas shopping at Aldi and therefore saved 50% - had to queue ages at checkouts - it was packed.

OK I know why now. Plumbing and heating products distributor Ferguson reported a 9.9% rise in first quarter trading profit to $432m as North American operations offset a fall in the UK. US operations reported organic growth of 9.6% in supportive markets, said chief executive John Martin

“Growth in the US was widespread across all geographic regions and major business units. Canada continued to grow against tough prior year comparatives and the UK also grew modestly on a like-for-like basis,” he said.

"Since the end of the quarter, the US has continued to grow well and the current indications are that growth will continue in the months ahead. As a result, we expect trading profit for the full year to be in line with analysts' expectations.”

All good stuff. I'll wait for 5300.

Strange bounce today. I expect drop back to sub 190 on Xmas results. Lidl and Aldi so much cheaper and my usually rammed Tesco was quiet this Xmas. I see they're still trying to sell pigs in blankets at full price - clueless.

Trading Update due on 15th Jan. This will tell us if the board's optimism for 2018 was justified. I expect a decent rebound on current SP, some positive statements and some significant improvements. I do not want to see the word "challenging" anywhere.

Disappointing that it got to 817p then after the US mkts took a tumble it fell back to 792p. Still , I'm in for the long game, so no worries.

One should never guess future oil prices but these a due a pretty big rebound IMHO

Seems a very good value SP right now, despite all the Brexit uncertainty. Bought some today @177. Daughter uses what little pocket and p/t job money to buy stuff from PLT so I reckon it must be a good bet.

Oh dear Nige - quoting Motley Fool is a bit desperate - you should know better. They'll be shorting it next week. My teenage kids don't watch anything on ITV these days - and their the ones the advertisers target. Get Noel Edmonds in there asap and shake it up - it's so boring - Noel will perk up the languishing SP. At least he's a celebrity. I expect The Apprentice will win the viewers tonight.
