The 9:47 unknown trade is probably a sale so a slight excess of sales over purchases, but not really much volume. Small trades can tip CASP one way or the other during slow news periods. I think today's RNS falls within the definition of slow news. Nothing really adverse; nothing particularly exciting. Just steady as she goes. At least they are keeping us informed.

Although, of course, for the reasons I have jsut given, this would be extremely unwise!

Mr. C, it is performing badly for the following reasons:

1. The war in Ukraine stops CASP selling on world markets

2. It has never produced enough oil

3. It hasn't cracked the deeps

4. Cash flow problems have limited its ability to progress on more than one front

There are reasons to believe this may now change

1. They still haven't got good cash flow but they do have cash

2. They have better equipment

3. They have a busy work schedule in new prospects that are showing some hopeful signs

The reasons the share isn't currently on the rise include:

1. Disappointment in the past

2. Poor communications and lack of a broker to raise awareness

3. A small pool of old investors and a lack of new investors (for the reasons given above)

Serious news is needed to turn this around. Serious news may well be just around the corner. I think there is a serious chance that this is the case. Until it happens, the share will be a bit stuck.

The oil price has surged past $100 this morning, and the US has given dispensation for India to buy oil from Russia. What little oil we are currently producing must be worth a little more, even in Kazakhstan.

Mr C, thanks for complimenting me on my perceptiveness. As others have replied to you (below) the question of taking it private or de-listing (which I didn't discuss) has been dealt with over a number of years and in various AGMs and has effectively been debunked. I take this as a very low risk rather than a zero risk, but, compared to the other risks and opportunities presented by this share, it doesn't figure highly in my considerations. When raised, it needs to be discussed, but we should be concentrating on the very large upside currently developing in this share as each RNS drops.

I think he's worried about CASP going private. The threshold for that is 75% not 50%. Perhaps he's worried that the concert party have effective control with a 50% plus shareholding. I see no difference between 48% and 52% on that score. That ship has already sailed. The question, as it has been for some time, is to what extent the interests of the concert party and the minority shareholders coincide.

Agreed Somm, that's why I'm holding. Now get the attention of someone not already invested here. Or perhaps the attention of someone who's sold up but might be persuaded to come back. Given CASP's history, they will want oil at ground level, not potential reserves underground.

Of course CASP is vastly undervalued. I fully agree that that is the case. This is definitely a multi-bagger in the wings waiting to called on stage to take their bow. First of all the curtain has to be raised and the audience must be drawn in to watch the plot unfold.

I am trying to explain why CASP is undervalued. You are arguing very persuasively that it is undervalued. Thanks for your time and research to put that argument forward which is much appreciated. My argument does not disagree with your post but makes a slightly different point

The price may be back down to where it was before the RNS but the volume is up and currently we are on a run of (admittedly small) buys. 300 bod is not enough to get us really moving, as I have said before.

1-2k bod might do the trick. It has to be enough to draw the attention of new investors. There is every reason to believe that we will get there in the next few months, but just now we are very news dependent, and without news we may slip back.

In what is otherwise a difficult market for shares, CASP are third on the riser list. 22% would put us top.

300 bopd is not enough to seriously entice buyers in but it is a start and there is promise of more. Get in now while they're still cheap!

I feel you may have got out too soon but I think many on this board will have an exit price in mind. I might be tempted by double figures.

So the world oil price is going up but will it rise in the domestic Kazakh market which CASP sell to?

Sorry to ask such a self interested question when what we should be thinking about is all the people who will die as a result of this dreadful situation. Is it a "special military operation" Donald?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This share won't move up substantially without news of oil flowing in commercial quantities. In fact it will slip back in the absence of news. It needs new buyers to get it moving. This has been the pattern for some time. Promise of oil may move it up a little, but we need the real stuff for any worthwhile rise. The chances of this happening are greater now than they have been for years so this is not a pessimistic post, just a realist one.

I don't think the value of the boat will become apparent until after the war in Ukraine has ended.

Paraffin is a very flexible product and can be used for heating, lighting, plastics, candle making, medical and cosmetic products. It comes from heavier and waxy oil.

We have been complaining about a lack of RNSs but now some people are complaining that this is a "non RNS". I agree with Jimmy G. The news flow is as important as the oil flow. Keep it coming.

Some negative posters will be letting off steam about their frustration at the slow pace of events and the limited amount of information that is put in RNSs.

There will also sometimes be negative posters trying to lower the price to increase their holding more cheaply (no accusation of current posters implied here)

I agree that rampers are also unhelpful. What is needed is a good balance. New investors will be quite happy to see a good dose of realism among the posts. In the case of CASP that has to include the history of poor communication alongside a discussion of the long list of good prospects for the company over the next few months and years.

This is the important sentence from the RNS:

At the Sholkara structure well P1 oil has flowed on a test basis at rates up to 270 bopd and at well P2 at rates on a test basis of up to 846 bopd. Work continues at both wells with the intention of achieving commercial flow rates.

Intention, note. I'm hoping it will come good. There's a good chance, but until we get there this share will not move much. imo

I'd like it to. I forecast 3.5p by the end of the month, so it would be nice to be proved right

PS the market, or rather the market makers, have responded by narrowing the spread which makes trade more viable, so perhaps this will move us up a little more today.

When oil flows this will fly

Somm, I agree the potential benefit is enormous but my understanding is that the flow rates refer to historic tests not current production. With CASPs history of over promising and under delivering, the market will wait for news of oil being pumped out of the ground now. The acquisition has already been taken into account by the market, although not at the value that you believe and I hope is warranted.

If you are saying this is great news and a further reason for people to buy the share, then I agree with you. Unfortunately the market is being more cautious for reasons that I don't need to repeat.
