The sp has not moved because this is not really news. The market already knew this was about to happen and it is only interested when new oil flows, not a repetition of old oil that has flowed in the past. This falls into the category of neutral news that I referred to recently. I would not expect the sp to respond.

Lots of different kinds of news could drop this week before the meeting. Some of the outcomes would have a positive effect on the sp but many of them could be neutral or even negative. There are many different irons in the fire and I am very confident that some of them will come good but the news flow is unpredictable. I am looking for a slow burn this year but with some sudden jumps, mostly upwards.

Trump is being leant on not to bomb Iran by the Saudis and the other oil rich middle East states. I think pursuit of the Russian shadow fleet is likely to have a greater influence on the price of oil - although possibly not on the price CASP receive.

Getmeout, you may be right that at least some people in the market assume that CASP will squander their current advantage, but most people who have been here over the years (and therefore know a fair bit about the company) feel that this is the best chance that they have had to turn things around for many a long year.

No promises, mind. This is AIM after all. Put your money in the footsie if you want a good steady return.

What we could have here is a stress seller. If a corporate, then major cash flow problems could be forcing the offloading of an otherwise good prospect (CASP). The same could be the case with a private individual. Conceivably, although I don't like to say this, it could be a probate sale. Perhaps we shall never know.

All I care about is that they get it done before the end of the month so CASP can reach my predicted sp of 3.5.

I've already said 3.5p by the end of the month (provided the big seller has finished by then!). I'm also going to say 5p by the end of the year.

Somm, buying in July and selling in December/ Early January you could easily make 30%. Agreed, currently that would be down to 10-20%, so if I'm right the selling may dry up soon. The other possibility is shorting of course.

If someone bought just before or after suspension and then sold in the 2.5 -3.1 range, that would represent a very good return on their investment. It may be some time before the much greater returns expected by some of us here actually materialise. I favour a trader taking their profits and moving on as the identity of the big seller.

We have an opportunity to listen to Mr Carver on January 30th. It would be nice to get some news before that of course.

Without more proper oil news there are bound to be reversals in the sp as mms play games and day/short-term traders take their profits. I think the two large unknowns are likely to be sales. I don't know if there any buys today.

If you're a short-term trader, beware of taking your profits too early.

If you're in it for the long term, this is just a blip on the road.

The "unknown" transaction for 500k shares at 3.1p looks like a sale to me as it balances up the large number of purchases over the day. Is the real spread now 3.1p to 3.2p with another small upwards movement in the sp due soon? Unless there are more sellers lurking in the background, a move up to 3.25 might follow any further purchases in the New Year.

It's good to see they are going all in on the deeps. No doubt there is an investment plan based on cash in the bank and cashflow from minerals. Perhaps they will be kind enough to share it with us sometime.

The volume of trades following this announcement is encouraging but modest. The spread has moved up towards 20% and the uplift is thus far tiny. For us oldtimers this news is very welcome but getting new blood in will take oil brought to the surface in good quantities. The SP should prove resilient following the RNS as only an idiot would sell at this juncture. I'm going to shift my 3.5p forecast from Xmas into the New Year. The naysayers can mock me all they wish if we don't make it by the end of January.

A very small flurry of purchases in response to this acquisition which hasn't shifted the sp at all. We're still waiting for the all important oil news. Diversification into minerals may or may not be a good move but there is insufficient information here to persuade me one way or the other.

It's good to know that they've been busy. Let's hope they've been busy drilling too.
