Good to see the oil trading business has made a successful start and of course boaty will soon be contributing revenue. A fall in oil production and prices received are the main reasons for a fall in profits. Note that past losses have now been exhausted to set against profits for tax purposes, so future tax payments may rise. No dividends for the forseeable future which will please some. An implication that the salary of directors will be restored.

Finally the internet giants have ruined the mental health of the young. Tax them too, I say.

Historically, the wing of UK politics which gets voted in, is the wing which is not divided. Not only are the Conservatives divided among themselves, but the right wing is split between them and Reform UK. I shall be voting for neither of them because they're both going down a low tax small state route at a time when we have an ageing, sicker and poorer society with a great need for investment in health, social care and the environment.
