“BP has announced it will slash its renewable energy investments and instead focus on increasing oil and gas production.

The energy giant revealed its shift in strategy on Wednesday following pressure from some investors unhappy its profits and share price have been much lower than its rivals.

BP said it would increase its oil and gas investment by about 20% to $10bn (£7.9bn) a year, while decreasing previously planned renewables funding by more than $5bn (£3.9bn).”

Agreed! Aston Martin should also get a very nice James Bond bump soon with Amazon now buying the rights to the franchise with much bigger advertising budgets.

Unfortunately, major funds are continuously selling, shorts have been increasing, and analysts are providing sell rating with 20p price target all while WG management have shockingly caused/long ignored this situation (Chairman now in place as Wg Chairman since September 2019 and BoD member since 2017), CEO appointed as CEO in July 2022 (COO before that!), although this is still a FTSE 250 company (now not for long), interestingly our Chairman also used to be Premier Oil Chairman till it’s demise!

Good post Koko, US markets were closed yesterday, and we should see a nice positive bounce today once they open as US investors love a bargain, Wood is a pretty well known brand/company there, GLA.

Volume here will pick up significantly once the US markets open after the Monday holiday, no institutional shareholders are selling, only penny flippers trading! Just take a deep look at the fundamentals along with all metrics here, it’s undoubtedly a multibagger before end of H1 this very year from these levels/joke of a market cap for WG., so watch this space and ignore the BS from penny flipping day traders.

WG. is incredibly cheap and oversold at the moment with mainly day traders here changing shares numerous times a day (hence the volumes!) while no RNS on institutional investors who are currently sitting tight and will likely add on any final confirmations, markets often provide opportunities and IMHO, WG. today is one hell of a Multibagger opportunity, please DYOR.

Shorters are now trying to close positions here in an orderly manner as usual, please don’t help them by giving away your soon to be lot lot more valuable WG shares for close to nothing at the moment, force them to buy back At much higher prices, and tighten your seatbelts.

This may easily close above 30p today, it’s just too oversold, keep an eye on the late afternoon rally here and thereafter from tomorrow, plus hopefully a much better/smarter worded RNS update along the way.

Of course it is, just look at the assets owned and do a simple maths, only management communication here is pi*s poor, so much so that makes you think it’s intentional at times but it’s pure incompetence IMO.

I’m in! Now some very big buys coming in here fast and on great volumes, no doubt that WG is now extremely oversold and undervalued as such, some big savvy investors are loading up it seems.

I agree, comparing to other FTSE housebuilders, Taylor Wimpey has lot more potential upside while downside risks look minimal within the overall sector, dividends are also very good, markets are almost never rational, at least in the short run.

Agreed, great results and now with Capital Markets Day ahead, should be an excellent week and hopefully months ahead with further increased government spending.

RNWH - Savvy Swedbank Now Adds/Buys Even More of Renew Holdings, and obviously sees huge value here!

Once again, exceptionally nice to note increasing interest here from savvy Swedbank whom according to today’s RNS have just purchased an additional 1.3% of shares here and thereby, taken their RNWH stake to almost ~4.5% in a very short span of time which clearly further highlights massive value plus potential in this now very much undervalued/oversold but nevertheless extremely well managed company.

Unilever, full year results, Thursday 13 February

Matt Britzman: Investors keen to see how Unilever LON:ULVR CEO Hein Schumacher’s turnaround strategy is taking shape. Last quarter, Unilever reported sales of €15.2bn, with underlying sales growth of 4.5%, beating market expectations. We’ll be keen to see if Unilever has maintained its streak of consecutive quarters of positive and improved volume growth. With inflation pressures easing, investors will also focus on whether price hikes have continued to moderate and how this impacts overall sales growth, with 3-5% growth the latest guidance for 2024.

Gross margin improvement is another critical area, as the company aims for an underlying operating margin of 18% driven by cost saving initiatives . Updates on the productivity program and separation of the ice cream division will also be key.

Exceptionally nice to see big interest here from savvy Swedbank whom according to yesterday’s RNS have just purchased over 3%+ of RNWH shares which further highlights big value in this now very cheap looking but very extremely well managed company.

New here and also now invested while awaiting dividends along with hopefully a BOE rate cut on Thursday (and hopefully more cuts ahead), GLA.

List ice cream unit in UK and US, Unilever urged

Unilever has been told to choose a dual listing in London and New York for its £13billion ice-cream business.

Analysts at Barclays said this would ‘be the best balance’ to minimise a big sell-off from investors and to maximise a new company’s valuation.

A US-only listing could see some UK and European investors forced to sell, the note added. Around 70 per cent of the consumer giant’s shareholders are based in the US or UK.

Barclays reckons a venue will be announced by the end of March.

Unilever is considering a dual or even triple listing amid a fierce battle between Amsterdam, London and New York for the division, whose brands include Magnum.
