The argument here would be did chad consult Cameroon when nationilising the doba asset it works both ways here. Cameroon would have right to know since the oil is transported through their pipeline making them a partner. If you ask me it’s rich for chad to claim consultation claims when they didn’t consult other partners when nationalising Exxon share of Dona assets

Also cameroon being the biggest cemac country, i would imagine that they probably have certain influence over other cemac members, i am particular interested in gabon and equatorial guinea as they had hydrocarbon assets for sale as well. So wouldn't come as a surprise if we pursue acquisitions there

I honestly think the cotco 10% sell was a good strategic move as it allowed us to immediately release value following acquisition but also allowed cameroon to come on our side alongside the renewable deal and other potential partnerships in the future. Cameroon are clearly batting for savannah now and with chad being a landlocked country it needs Cameroon happy to export oil through pipeline could this force chad's hand on our doba acquisition let see personally don't think it will but having another partner in cameroon can't be a bad thing for our future in the cemac region.

My dream is that savannah will eventually be a 200,000 Bopd oil and gas producer either by acquisitions or enhancements in production for the assets that they acquire with 1 billion in 2p reserves. Than renewable projects running in the background to position us for energy transition that’s the dream operationally.

Zengas - as much I like AK thinking of long term energy transition these deals are not going to move the dial in the short term. Many on here are waiting to hear fruit of the hydrocarbon acquisition as that is where most people get immediate bang for buck with each renewable project value will only be realised once the projects are constructed and complete providing power to grid. Savannah needs to fully land hydrocarbon deals, failed to land Chad Cameroon deal fully on the Exxon and Petronas front. Fingers are crossed for South Sudan but again what happens there who knows………………….

The only thing for certain at the moment is Nigeria accugas revenues and if you were to ask many on here they would I would prefer share buybacks to be priority if Andrew fails to land South Sudan don’t think I can take another long drawn out process of going for a third acquisition with no certainty, they say third time is a charm but not in Africa and not in the oil and gas space

Clearly seems like we have another deal going on in cameroon and to sweeten it we have decided to sale 10% of the pipeline to cameroon as a goodwill gesture.

It's is worth remembering that until Cameroon pay the full amount we will continue to benefit from the full 40% of the revenue stream so it's up to cameroon to find the cash to buy 10% so until they do it's safe to assume 40% revenues for accounting purposes

Perhaps we could be freeing up a little cash for another spa and another transaction who knows at this stage with Andrew

Wouldn’t surprise me if we wash our hands with the chad Cameroon deal and sell out all of Cotco eventually. Interesting there wasn’t any supplementary comments from Andrew as with all SPA announcements wonder what’s driven the sale of the 10%

Mr B - perhaps he needs to broaden his horizon outside of Africa………… there are deals to be done in other more favourable regions.

Personally if AK fails to land South Sudan than I would personally like him to stop with African dealmaking nobody would stand a third suspension if it came to it.

Perhaps Share buybacks May be the answer from excess cash from Nigerian assets would go a long way in boosting sp in the short term and they can wait on the sideline for deals that may be more favourable

I for one hope that this does not delay the admission document, completion and the South Sudan deal. Andrew and team clearly know the geopolitical risks associated with the assets they are targeting. Historically the oil pipeline has not stopped for long periods in the past as oil revenues are the lifeline for both countries.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the deal completes and the situation in Sudan gets resolved. Although if I was to wake up one morning with an rns saying that there has been a termination of spa on the South Sudan deal that wouldn’t be surprising as well. Although in light of the fact knowing the geopolitical risk of the assets we have been targeting for the last 2 or 3 years, we could potentially have the Cotco pipeline as fruits of our labour over 2 suspensions which would not be the end of the world but not be a good look either. I for one always thought we should have diversified much broader than just Africa and a second point for Andrew is to avoid acquisition of assets where there is potential for military rule. Of course as with all African countries there is a risk of military intervention in all but some less than others for example I would so love a quick acquisition on Petronas Egypt assets which as last reported by AI are 20,000 Bopd. Perhaps Andrew needs to go back to the drawing board on acquisition strategy. I am kind of glad know we are at least on the cusp of seeing operational activity in Niger so at least that will calm the sentiment regardless of any outcome on the acquisition front.

How many on here think we will have an admission document before 12th June and south sudan conference, happy to hear here people's guesses now, I for one now believe that re-admission and admission document will be post the 6 months deadline and south sudan conference, but happy to here of views of others on here and how they think this will play out ?

As per recent update by south sudan oil minister production is currently 170,750 bopd as of 5th April 2023. Seems to be creeping up slowly from the previously reported 150,000 bopd. Let's hope the trend continues.........

Looks like a strong operational update. Although I am more convinced that the south sudan deal and re-listing will now be after the south sudan oil conference as the reference still to H1 otherwise thet would have mentioned weeks, although I could be wrong

Komakino - I was thinking the same as well i think we could get re-admission following the 14th June that's if we still think that's the date the ministerial consent will be given, and than have a gm following to approve the deal once we re-list. As always I am keeping all options open as much as i would like some news in the next 8 or 9 weeks prior to suspension deadline, I would not say for 100% that we will get it before, unless IR can confirm for us the sequence of proceedings ?

Just a thought but could we use the full 6 months and re-list after approval…… not really sure if that’s possible in terms of the timeline of regulatory requirements ? Thoughts from anyone welcome ?

Looks like chad issue is more political and the military aiming to control and delay a democratic transition, it would surprise me if there will be international pressure which may lead to sanctions on chad if they continue down there current course of action. Can't see them winning this at ICC tribunal so they are really stuck in the mud now, also not sure if perenco will now want to touch Doba as it has attracted a lot of negative press now and the last thing perenco need is bad publicity for example if they are to take on the doba fields than there will be lingering doubts in the west that there has been so dodgy backhander. So I do feel like the current chad stance have left them in a tight spot and will not look great for any future investment unless they are willing to negotiate and come back to the table
