Qatar, they are a primary candidate for "off-take" agreements and infrastructure financing.

​Strategic Alignment: Qatar’s global strategy is to move from being "The Gas King" to "The Hydrogen King." By investing in the UK's Project Union (the national hydrogen backbone), they ensure there is a market for the blue hydrogen they plan to produce using their massive natural gas reserves.

​Capital Availability: As of January 2026, the QIA has expanded its "Fund of Funds" by an additional $2 billion, with a specific mandate to invest in international infrastructure and energy security.

This is all happening, I know all those green boxes I'm seeing are known trolls trying to disrupt the truth and the potential gains for investors to make here.

National Gas recognises the criticality of connecting Project Union's pipelines to large scale hydrogen storage, such as UKEn's, to buffer supply and demand and thereby enable effective pipeline operations.

Project Union's first phase, scheduled for operation by 2032, aims to connect the East Coast hydrogen cluster (Teesside to Humberside) with an envisaged routing to connect with UKEn's East Yorkshire hydrogen storage project.

With UKOG's storage solution being the biggest in the area and meeting the criteria for small company support currently it would mean it is an idea case for the Governments Hydrogen Storage round using the National Wealth fund..... exactly what it is for.

And note the ministers question below relates to small companies not large!.... so UKOG then!

UKOG's Northern project Salt Cavern is the largest planned storage project in the Humber region but still only a portion (although large portion) of what is needed.....must be a lead runner for initial support at this stage.......

They are vital to our region, which has £18 billion of value-add and 360,000 jobs, but without certainty from Government, investors cannot commit. When will the Government open the allocation rounds for the hydrogen transport and storage business models so that this investment can actually move forward?
