I am about as puzzled as everyone else why this is dropping as I cant see what all the pessimism is about here. Mabye the CEO issue but I cant see why anyone would sell on that. NEX is being very unfairly punished right now.

Seen it all before though and this will be back up just as fast as it has dropped. Happy to continue collecting wherever this lands.

Tell me about it. I dont get the european markets of late. The USA have more daily cases than entire europe combined yet they refuse to budge. A couple of new cases here will set the stock market spiraling. Are we more sensible and cautious, or more gullible and idiotic to the press 'mountain out of a molehill' stories?

I think it goes beyond the government scheme and VAT cut that have caused a spike in sales as this is the only 'luxury' left that people can actually do as not a lot else is available. Even during days when the 50% discount is excluded, they are still rammed. People will continue to spend local as going abroad is not an option and this will last going into winter. Key infrastructure, pubs and cheap restaurants always fair better in an economic downturn.

What catastrophe exactly do you think is going to happen going into winter?

Pubs and restaurants are rammed. Everytime i walk by a weatherspoons it is mental. Last night was as busy as any night before the pandemic. Go to the pub and befriend the bar staff. All report that they are the busiest they have ever been. As you quite rightly said, don't think for one second the market is always right and evidence on the ground suggests that they are vastly underestimating these groups. The hospitality sector is priced to bust going into their trading statements since lockdown easing, and they will no doubt bring a few surprises.

Well, at least one thing is clear. Looks like the marstons brokers have given in propping up the FTSE 250 index, so by fairdealers logic, a placing shouldnt happen now. I'm sure everyone is relieved.

As i said before this is an argument i will never win because you clearly have your claws in deep here for some reason you still fail to disclose. There are 100s of companies in a far worse position than MARS so why not spread your wisdom there? I'm sure there are many companies that can do with your amazing insight. And i am so sorry some disagree with your definition of fact, as it appears that you seem to define fact as your interpretation of things. Ill help you by making a 'specific reference' as you clearly failed to see the specific reference made before. This is regarding your comment about why the share price went from 36p to 50p, which leads me nicely onto my challenge you set me. I have never disputed any financial analysis re debt levels as although it may be hard for you to believe, i can read and understand the squiggly lines that we all call numbers. I don't recall disputing posts regarding this, please could you remind us all when i disputed any hard financials? But i like the way you try to divert attention away from your stupid comment made which was the sole purpose of questioning whether you are a troll or not. Very transparent.... please try harder. At least you indirectly or subconsciously acknowledge how silly that comment was.

So the challenge, which i have already explained my reasoning but perhaps you missed it or you need a longer version to understand. So, have you seen the FTSE 250 index? Perhaps you could overlay this chart with the chart of MARS, MAB, JDW, RTN and the general sector? Now unless Marstons brokers have grown long arms indeed and have managed to drag up the entire index just to get a placing away for marstons, your interpretation of the rise is either at best down to your extremely poor analytical skills and bizarre thought processes, or as i stated before a disgruntled armchair troll with a sole aim to dampen sentiment at worst. So which is it? If the rise was isolated to MARS alone, perhaps i would be more inclined to agree with your assessment. However analysing others in the sector, along with the index as a whole, one is lead to logically to conclude that the rise is more likely down to a general change in sentiment from an extreme oversold position. Fair assessment?

So did i pass? Credibility restored? Now lets see if you can manage to do the same.

I agree its difficult to watch your investment plunge by 16% in a day, and this game takes nerves. Its days like today where most private investors lose money as they panic, and where the more seasoned investor make money as they tend to know when to buy on the dip. I cant imagine why any institutions would sell on that news, and judging by the buy vs sell gap, it looks like traders trying to trade the waves.

There is absolutely nothing in that report that i thought was shocking enough to warrant a 16% drop that was not already known, and i challenge anyone to find something totally unexpected in that report that warrants such a drop. You tend to find that when this happens, the drop actually helps as it puts the company in the limelight, and other investors research what caused the drop. When they discover that the drop looks excessive, they buy. I have done this many times before.

Welcome to the crazy world of ftse250 shares. Had a very good read of the report today. If your timeframe is longer than a week or a month, you have absolutely nothing to worry about and if funds permit, take advantage of these dips.

The drop can be attributed to many things. Partially what you say about traders flipping, comments from ceo regarding slow return to normality as there were tones of caution littered throughout, US uncertainties ect. Pick any one, all as likely as the next. You would have thought that this was already known, but there you go. The reaction seems very knee jerk to me, and frequently the SP will whip back up again in the ensuing days.

But what an opportunity this has offered national express and they are financially in a fantastic position to capitalise. As long as this virus dies down, give it 2 years and this will be a winner.

People expecting a profit here? Mental. Perhaps they missed the memo where the industry is going through one of the toughest times it has ever faced. Fantastic company with a track record going through torrid times.

I think I'll be buying on this dip after that report hehe.

Teddy, unfortunately i think the RI is almost a certainty unless Qataris pull out or a vaccine with an extremely high efficacy is announced before the vote. However it certainly depends on how this trades in the august month, and hopefully IAG can nail a decent VWAP as a basis for the RI to keep dilution at a minimum.

The key point is that everyone MUST take up their RI quota. If not, you will be diluted 40-50%.

Weren't there some "economists" calling a 35% Q2 decline back in April? A lot of today's data is better than expected, GDP MoM June is +8.7%, a full percentage point above expectations is the bright spot for me.

Wow now that was a weak attempt at a de-ramp. MMs bringing up SP to 50 for a placing haha come on, you can do better than that. Perhaps marston's brokers are working hard for JDW, MARS, RTN to drive their prices up too? Or perhaps this is a sector re-rate that has been heavily oversold?

There is always one on every share board; some disgruntled ex-employee, got savagely burnt in the past, lost tons of money on the stock before ect. So what exactly is your beef with MARS? You seem to trash anyone else who has a positive outlook like you did KahunaJim who posted useful stuff. You seem to scramble to counter if anyone says anything positive.....just like you did on JV news desperately trying to rubbish it. You don't gain anything so why bother?
