looks like we are closing in on forexscalpers 750p. I still think Tim's business model is allowed to command the p/e it does relative to others however.

It signifies trader indecision. We have had a few trading days of an efficient and decisive move downwards. A zigzag chart usually preempts a strong countermove. A few days of this is usually a good sign a bottom has been found. I for one would be very surprised to see this breach 300p.

Come on. A 15% drop on weatherspoons churning a loss? Did you expect a profit? Remember weatherspoons report upto the end of july, so losses are more concentrated and were always going to look worse as they didnt include august eat out to help out.

5% down mabye. 15% down....too far. I agree weatherspoons are by far the most affected out of the pub groups with the 10pm curfew however. MAB have 4% of revenue derived from trade after 10pm....weatherspoons considerably more. Safe to say tim is feeling the burn.

Another legendary RNS by tim martin. You got to love this guy including his rants in an RNS. Some of what he says makes sense regarding what warren buffet said about institutions as this has happened; we now have 100 countries who think lockdowns are the best cause for action and dont want to break rank out of fear and not wanting to be seen as non-compliant. It's a vicious circle. I also agree that innovation is needed to combat this, not the blunt sledgehammer lockdowns. I also agree on comments here re culture, which has a significant effect.

An age selective lockdown where we shield those who are requiring the overwhelming majority of hospitalisations is where we should go until a vaccine is found. This will prevent NHS overburdened, reduce deaths and give our economy a fighting chance of recovery.

I feel it has something to do with the fact that BOO has effectively de-risked Leicester as the dodgy dealings there are now known, and must clean up their act. Now would be a good time to jump into Leicester.

With BOO, It reminds me of the thought experiment; would you trust a smart person with your wallet who just lost theirs yesterday, or a person who has never lost their wallet. What i mean by this is that i expect BOO to never make the same mistake again as they now know how costly such an error can be. Two shadows remain. The increased spending of boohoo as it experiences growing pains and the media like a dog with a bone. From now on, if a leaf blows the wrong way in Leicester, the media will jump over it and will be narrated as being the fault of boohoo. This will eventually peter out as the media will move onto the next big scandal. For now, we will continue to plod around low-mid 3s.

This is definitely one of my COVID recovery stocks i am less worried about and happy to stake build on weakness. I have a couple thousand shares in MAB i got at the lows, not a big holding but much more on the fence there. I still believe MAB is the best in its class, but the government have hospitality in a stranglehold and wont give them a break.

Dumped bank stocks a couple of days ago due to the increased probability of negative interest rates and banked some profits on house builders as the job losses are mounting. These wild swings are exhausting as you try to re balance on the ever changing landscape changing on a daily basis to keep your head above water, and we have the added uncertainty of Brexit. Certainly not for the faint hearted or feeble minded as one wrong move will wipe you out, and respect each and every investor attempting to navigate these choppy waters that are arguably the worst in a century as most will succumb to the lure of a sinking ship filled with fools gold.

However i strongly believe those who brave the chop will come out with the biggest bounty of gold, whether it be out of skill or dumb blind luck...some of us will come out of this rich! Good luck to us all.

Agreed falkland. At least this dip gives further opportunity to stake build. The drop back from 175 has been brutally quick and efficient. Looks overdone now.

Calling a bottom or top is next to impossible in this market. I thought perhaps 150 would provide some sort of support but there you go. Pure sentiment driven at the moment, but its strange we are sill being associated with"travel stocks" and strongly correlated to their movements; we have dropped more than IAG. We are closer to a utilities company than travel. No doubt big money will be taking further advantage of this drop.

Indeed. This reinforces further what a lot of scientists are now saying in that the old and frail should be under total lockdown whilst the rest of us get on with our lives. Rubbish about NHS being overwhelmed if we do this is absolute nonsense and sick of hearing the same BS. The data clearly indicates the hospital beds are being filled by the elderly and those with severe underlying illnesses, so if this group is locked down, hospitalizations will drop.

Why not just completely isolate these groups and impose severe fines for anyone coming into unauthorised contacts with this group. Obviously it's not nice not being able to see elderly members of the family, but at least the uk will have an economy left. This current method of "control" which is utterly useless is unsustainable. How much longer will people watch their jobs dissapear without seeing any concrete proof that it was necessary for their job to vanish....

Also interesting how the government diverts blame from themselves to the young, and how the population are falling for it by blaming the young. If their "world class" track and trace was any good like other countries who actually have a decent system in place, we wouldnt be in this mess.

And the definition of "pub" is also very loose. Pubs that serve mainly food do not need to close down at all. Weatherspoons, mitchel and butlers ect can all remain open and people can purchase alcohol with a meal.

From the 350s. Went on a housebuilder buying spree and got a load of these at 370 and TW at 105 & 99. Very nice bounce and redrow finally smashed through the previous barrier of 465.

NEX becoming a bit like a broken record now. Dont stop the music and dont change the record NEX. This was and still is one of the most misunderstood and undervalued companies on ftse250.

The cat is well and truly out of the bag now, and it certainly looks like we have significant interest across the pond. To sell now is like throwing your money to the likes of JP morgan&co who will happily take them off your hand.

SNP were always going to pull the trigger first, but it is not that easy for BJ to do the same. I am hoping the 1922 crew led by rishi can keep the lid on things. All hell will break loose if BJ wants to go down the same route. I am guessing BJ wants to see if the Scottish lock down is at all effective, as looking at what is happening, anyone can see that the 10pm curfew simply is not working.

As things stand, MAB is grossly undervalued. Hardly and surprise though given the short term uncertainty regarding everything. This is a bagger in time, for those who don't mind the short term ruckus. Eventually new cases will level off, and the bile from khan & co will die down.

Meanwhile, over in Sweden....if only our politicians had a backbone, common sense and foresight to see that letting nature take its cause whilst locking down the elderly and vulnerable is the only way to defeat this, keeping deaths to a minimum (in the long run) with minimal damage to the economy. Ah well, the penny will drop eventually. Lets just see how much of our economy and unnecessary deaths it will take before it does.

A few more days of this, we might see fair value for NEX. 250p will see me bag as I was stakebuilding in the 120s, so I would take some profit off the table then. But the rest I will hold onto for the full recovery where in time, there is no reason this couldnt go back to 400p.
