Well the tender I mentioned is for £20 billion! Lots of companies will get some. There's an lft contract for £8 billion. ODX will get some- they've already been awarded up to £374 million.
I can't advise on your whole portfolio Tiger. I am an ethical investor. Lots of stuff I don't touch. Blockchain is OK I guess. Bitcoin not for me though. Just a series of giant pyramid schemes. Someone will always get left holding the baby. And they use a heck of a lot of energy for a commodity without any use! But each to their own. I think ARB is Blockchain anyway hey? The exciting thing is the link to the government.uk page. You can set up an account so that you can re-order easily. You can get them from pharmacies- 3 in my little seaside town in walking distance for me. You can get them from workplaces. Yikes! It's all happening!

Hey Tiger, I think that some of the forecasts shared here by BigAl and Bench look perfectly feasible actually. My timeline is maybe quite short term at this stage. I want to finish as a full-time pi by end of June- after 4 years. I am aiming to triple bag here. I got in at 85p this time. Already made a g8 return previously. If I can get my average to 80p with another decent sized buy I think £2.40 is doable at a conservative estimate. It depends when the potential that we are discussing becomes very transparent to the market. So either FDA EUA and/or a decent buy from the UK government (who have BC and Sysmex on the £8 billion framework as part of a group of suppliers with 'subcontractors likely ' -that will be GDR). Will all come in the next few weeks imo. If the POC comes in within that time frame it could go higher. But I ain't got a crystal ball.
Personally I am completely unsurprised that the FDA were slowed down last year. Trump had no commitment to testing or to getting on top of the virus. He politicised the pandemic. Half of the US public were in denial about it, never mind getting tested. All change now. That's what you get for electing a buffoon. In a way it's a wonder they got anything done with him constantly undermining public health officials. You can see from the new guidance that the FDA are getting the proper backup, resources and leadership to get the job done now. The vaccination campaign has done 100 million under Biden. The US are just as committed to testing as a strategy to keep a lid on it as we are.

RiskisReward that's not what DB said about FDA approval. We all listened to the presentation for goodness sake. He said they had expected it to be done already and it isn't and he thinks it's because they have a high number of applications coupled with their role on vaccine approval, it's slowed them down. I think he is too polite to mention the fact that the man in the orange suit of skin didn't really believe in testing and spent his time in the public glare advocating a nice drink of bleach to cure cv19! Trump wasted time- quelle surprise. They are clearly getting on with it now. As several of us have pointed out new tests are being approved and they have updated their guidance to prioritise faster throughputs, less resource requirements, capacity for nationwide distribution, faster point of care processing and reporting requirements are also essential if you read through all the guidance. So those are all ticks aren't they? And there's a section about leveraging between providers which is permitted with only minor adjustments to the application. So if my understanding is correct there's another tick. Almost as if they had BC and Genedrive in mind when they were writing the guidance ;)

So anyway. Back to your point and inphobe's point. The FDA are prioritising high throughput tests. GDR have a high throughput test and the application is pending approval. DB said that there are only 4 companies with the very fast throughput capacity for tests. The FDA criterion also emphasises distribution capacity. It's easier for them to commission from one company capable of massive volumes than loads of SMEs- saves on procurement costs and it's generally much more efficient in getting the job done. And the test itself is fast. So fast manufacturing, fast point of care process and fast in delivering results.
And decent volumes today. Start of the new tax year so lots of iis will be looking to refresh their portfolios. And here is GDR poised for FDA approval (iis timelines are a bit more relaxed than pis) and still cheap as chips. And there's Biden with his $50 billion testing budget getting on with the program. I can see us picking up very fast from here.
UK contracting will be starting with a 'buy new generation, British test' emphasis too. The whole conversation in the public discourse is going to be about testing this month. All bodes very well.

In the meantime GDR is moving along very nicely again today. Unsurprisingly. Since it's a a joint venture with a multinational, blue chip pharma which is also a subsidiary of a multinational giant pharma. And April is the month when the UK starts a new phase of test and trace. Contracts are lined up on bidstats and decisions are being made every day. And in the US, the FDA have started to process more EUAs to get up to speed with Biden's plans to ensure regular testing to get on top of the virus and to stay on top of it. 1 year wasted last year with the incompetent and super corrupt Trump causing distractions and distress for public health officials. All gone. Biden's on the case with a €50 billion testing budget.

So we need to look out for that contract award too. FDA and the UK. The plan for the UK roadmap is lfts with all positive lfts requiring a follow up PCR. Doesn't anyone think we're in with a chance for that? I do. Faster, less reagents and fewer processes= cost saving and life saving. Integrated products. Synergistic with BC and Roche platforms. Works for mutations. So longer, robust and fit for purpose life spans for the products. It's been a long time coming for all the new generation British diagnostics. But this is the time. The derampers have nothing. Let's stop responding to the attention seeking prats. We can put out a general alert every day telling newbies who they are. But we should be focusing on the opportunity in our investment and keeping the board very positive. Soccer trials will use lft and PCRs for validation. No point ****ging off lfts. There's a continuing role for both. This is all over the news. Big up what we have. Which is a lot. The margins are very high for PCRs. We're getting a lift because this month contract awards will be coming one after another. We should get an industry association. Though it did come on the same day. I have a feeling something big is brewing. The delay implies something. Conversations about what the Mologic test means for the ODX contract? I am practically hyperventilating here! Maybe I just need to change my HRT? Lol. Seriously. Am I the only one feeling super duper excited here?
