"Macquarie expects demand to rise to 2.8 million tonnes this year, a rise of 16% from 2020, and a deficit of 83,000 tonnes. In March it had predicted nickel demand growth at 10.6%. Production of 300-series stainless steel containing 8%-9% nickel jumped 36% in the first half of 2021 compared with the same period last year. Stainless accounts for around 70% of global nickel consumption, while electric vehicle batteries consume less than 10%, but the latter number is expected to rise alongside electric vehicle sales as the world moves to cut carbon emissions."

What's interesting in Red's posts is the changing landscape in the nickel space and the processing routes and synergies that are evolving. In the way that delaying developing a project in a rising nickel market is no bad thing delaying signing an off-take or choosing which processing route to go down or which strategic partnership/JV to enter may ultimately prove to be beneficial as well. I think we may have had a recent lucky escape with AH. A period of quiet reflect in what appears to be a rapidly changing market is no bad thing.

To paraphrase Lenin “There are years where nothing happens; and there are weeks where years happen”. When it takes off here it will move fast. We just might have to wait a little while longer before it does.

Horizonte is in a reasonable position at the moment.

Araguaia is the warm up act IMO. The SS market for nickel might be 70% of current nickel demand but the means to supply that market is relatively straight forward. RKEF operations are ten a penny and relatively easy to build. Having said that Araguaia being in the lowest cost quartile puts it in a good position. It's Vermelho, however, that's the jewel in the crown and the one that, to my mind, is capable of propelling Horizonte into the multi billion dollar league.

Horizonte is a very leaky share. We've seen this sort of thing before so it really isn't any great surprise. Cannacord were the culprits the last time.

I'm expecting an RNS Monday stating that the equity portion of the CAPEX has been tied up at around 5.5p. I think the recovery and climb north will be slow because I think the BOD's performance here will be rated as being somewhere between poor to abysmal.

12 months down the line with a share price 15p+ and this chapter will all be forgotten.

People sell shares for a whole variety of reasons and on many of these occasions the selling makes little or no sense to those left holding. You can screw yourself up trying to understand why or you can re-visit the reasons why you invested here in the first place. If the latter still holds for you then there's nothing to worry about. As for the seller! Just let them get on with it.

184,000 tonnes to 1.7m tonnes in 10 years is an exponential growth rate of approximately 30% year on year. The impact of that sort of growth will be felt long before 2030.

Adam Habib had 4,875,999 shares which, I believe, have all been sold and 25,619,260 warrants which, I believe, have not been exercised. Even if it was Adam Habib selling his 4,875,999 shares that’s a relatively small number. Until we see an announcement stating that he’s exercised the 25,619,260 share option they’re not in play.
