Possibly the US$300,00 pa he gets as CEO maybe. He is, after all 66/67 years old so oportunties are likely to be a bit thin on the ground at his age.

In this context I take your "conviction" to mean strong belief or opinion. Belief and opinion count for little or nothing. A bit like "keeping the faith" it generally tends towards ignoring the things that don't accord with what you've already decided is true.
Confirmation bias is the biggest problem on these bulletin boards.

It might not be such a bad idea to remind ourselves how often nickel has been above/below the $8/lb level and some of the events; GFC, NPI, pandemic that have impacted the price.

If $8/lb really is the incentive bottom line price for new nickel projects then we've still got some way to go before we can say we're well clear of that level. Nickel popping its head above the $8/lb. level briefly really isn't what its all about.

That was first posted on here over 6 months ago.

It’s an interesting interview in many respects not least for the topics it neglects to address.

For me the best part is Friedland’s comment about politicians bribing you with your own money. Very true. It’s about 21 minutes or so in if you’d care to listen. Otherwise it’s two guys talking their own book. That’s not to say they’re wrong, far from it, but it would have been better if there had been somebody there with an opposing view. Two people with similar/identical views and opinions are only going to arrive at one conclusion.

RL, in one of his posts yesterday, quoted a favourite saying of mine “the cure for high prices is high prices”. You could reasonably argue that high nickel prices 14/15 years ago was what spurred the Chinese on to commercialise NPI. I think the Moores/Friedland love in would have been better if there had been somebody there asking the awkward questions.

It’s been sometime since I’ve listened to the whole thing so that’s at least one hour today taken care of.

Its not clear to me if the updated figures between April and June have been provided by the registrar or the companies and if Canaccord has not updated their holding becuase they haven't breached the 5% threshold.

The usal PI nominee accounts have increased by a fair margin over a 10 week period so the shares must be coming from somewhere.

This has been going on for months. Trades all in round figures, today alone just shy of 3m. With this sort of selling you'd pizz through 20m in a few weeks. This is somebody with considerably more fire power than a loaded PI or even a few PIs working in concert.

An overseas entity only needs to inform the company when they cross 5% boundaries and that's assuming they stick by the rules and inform the company. If they don't then you've no idea where the shares are coming from but the one thing we do know is its relentless.

Somebody contacted the company recently and were told it was a private investor selling. Can whoever that was confirm that?

Canaccord has 168,930,000 shares which is 9.94% of the shares in issue. They can dispose of 84m shares before needing to inform the company.

I've no idea if it is only one seller. The selling, however, seems to me to be rather strategic. The tap gets turned on every time the share price looks like it might climb above 7p. When it subsides to low 6's the tap gets turned off. It could be more than one entity working in concert but it doesn't feel like that. Then again WTFDIK.

Every time it looks like we're finally about to move out of and stay out of the 6p range this happens. I'm not big on conspiracies normally but this is stating to get rather tedious.

Stocks in the LME down below 200,000 tonnes for the first time in 18 months. Stock levels in the LME, in comparison to every other base metal, are still high, about 20% to 25% of annual consumption, but at least they’re heading in the right direction.

FYI Over the past several months or so monthly depletion rates, on average, have been in the region of 20,000 tonnes per month.

The jump up looks to me to be way in advance of news of an impending RNS leaking but we live in hope.

I didn't have any problems picking up 10,000 at 64.2p.

It might be the bottom, it might not but at these prices and with Zone 8 still to come it has to be a good longish term punt.
